Helen C. Christy Guley, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa.
She was born in Redstone Township, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of the late Cozadino and Maria Stracci Christy.
She owned and operated Christy's Beauty Shop and was a member of the St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, of Carmichaels, a former member of the Rosary Society, and was a member of the Carmichaels Area Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony R. Guley; a son, Anthony R. Guley, Jr., of Washington, Pa.; a daughter, Pamela R. Schifko, of Carmichaels; and two grandchildren, Joseph and Andrew Guley.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dominick Christy Sr.
Funeral arrangements are private and are being handled by the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels.
Marie Morris
Marie Morris, 85, of Carrol Road, Halleck community, Marion County, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, in Martha McCarty's Personal Care Home on Halleck Road.
She was born Aug. 24, 1915, in Richwood, daughter of the late Charles Newton and Ocie Brown Carter.
She was retired from Roadway Express Co., in Akron, Ohio, where she worked 35 years as a secretary. She attended Summers United Methodist Church and was a member of the Triune Homemakers Club.
She is survived by a brother, Charles Denver Carter, of Meadowdale community, Fairmont; an aunt, Iva Gay Kennedy, of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Bessie Newman, Glenna Nicholson and Lois Jean Carter; and three brothers, Paul Carter, Robert Carter and Billy Carter.
Friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, with the Rev. Brad McBee officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Fairmont.
Chris Pete Triantifilou
Chris Pete Triantifilou, 53, of Fairmont, Levels community, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born May 11, 1947, in Fairmont, son of the late Pete and Agnes Solchik Triantifilou.
He worked at Tygart River Mine, formerly Martinka Mine, as a coal miner and outside mechanic. He also worked for Eastern Associated Coal. He was a member of UMWA District 31. He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Mapel Triantifilou; three daughters, Kathryn Christine Triantifilou, at home, and Kimberly and Michelle Triantifilou, both of Fairmont; a son, Chris Pete Triantifilou III, of Fairmont; a stepson, Kevin Wayne Janke, of Fairmont; a brother, Michael Triantifilou, and a sister, Mary Cunningham, both of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Joshuah Triantifilou, Dylan Blake, Gage Cain, and a stepgrandson, Christian Bradley Janke.
The body was cremated. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Casey B. Mahone as celebrant. Ross Funeral Home, 801 Fairmont Ave., Fairmont, is in charge of arrangements.
Leverne B. Toothman
Leverne B. Toothman, 73, of Paden City, and formerly of Farmington, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Robin Amos.
She was born Aug. 10, 1927, in Littleton, daughter of late Ray and Opal Burch Postlethwait.
She was a member of South Farmington Methodist Church but had attended Paden City Church of God. She was a member of the Golden Rod Rebehak Lodge 87 of Farmington. She was a homemaker and had assisted her husband, Blaine Toothman, at the Lazear and Kent Funeral Home and at Dent Funeral Home in Farmington.
She is survived by a daughter, Robin Amos, of Paden City; a granddaughter, Westi Marie Amos, of Paden City; two brothers, Robert Postlethwait, of Wooster, Ohio, and Tommy Postlethwait, of Collier; and a sister, Texann Drozd, Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Blaine Toothman, Feb. 27, 1994; a brother, Rex Postlethwait; and a sister, Eulalah Irene Stoneking.

Jo Ann Jones, 73, of Durbin Street, Grafton, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at home.
She was born on May 1, 1927, in Grafton, daughter of the late Durley E. and Nina M. Kisner.
She was a homemaker and member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Grafton. She was a member of the Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Jones, whom she married June 29, 1963; two daughters and a spouse, Brenda Lee and Woodbridge Stout, of Flemington, and Cindy Dalrymple, of Pennsboro; three sons and spouses, Rob and Wanda Jones, of Route 4, Buckh annon, Gary D. and Laura Jones, and Jeffrey Dale and Terrie Jones, all of Grafton; two brothers and spouses, William B. and Peggy Kisner, of New Egypt, N.J., and Joe and Marie Kisner, of Grafton; a sister and spouse, Dorothy and Bob Knight, of Grafton; 1 3 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Estella Lohr; a son, Russell Douglas Kirby; and a great-grandson, Chase Alexander Jones.

Christina "Tina" Lee LePera Rich, 56, of Millan Street, Westover, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Morgantown, daughter of William LePera, who survives in Arthurdale, and the late Aleta Merideth LePera.
She was a materials coordinator at G.E. Specialty Chemicals. She attended Covenant Evangelical Methodist Church, where she was active in the women's ministries organization.
She is also survived by two sons and spouses, Thomas and Jamie Osburn, of Morgantown; William and Kathy Osburn, of Morgantown; a foster daughter and spouse, Darlene and Tim Fetty, of Morgantown; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Fred and Dixie LePera, of Grafton, Thomas LePera, of Georgia, and Michael LePera, of Arthurdale; three grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Osburn, Shannon Osburn and Daniel Getz; two nieces and a nephew; and two great-nieces and nephews.

Howard F. Metheny
Howard F. Metheny, 71, of Masontown, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at his winter home in Lake City, Fla.
He was born March 1, 1929, in Masontown, son of the late Alva and Nora Feathers Metheny.
He attended Masontown High School, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1947 and served in the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. His employment included five years at Sterling Faucet and 31 years in the mining industry. He was an avid reader and staunch supporter of education.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Menear Metheny, whom he married Aug. 19, 1950; a daughter and spouse, Teresa and Lonnie Reynolds, of Terra Alta; four sons and spouses, Edward and Debbie Metheny, of Moorefield, Frank and Debbie Metheny, of N ew Freeport, Pa., Jeff and Cindy Metheny, of Eighty Four, Pa., and John and Connie Metheny, of Weston; two sisters, Glenna Boring, and Pauline Nuce, of Masontown; 12 grandchildren, Shelley Reynolds, of Terra Alta, Leslie, Jackie, Stephanie, and Kent Meth eny, of New Freeport, Kelsey, and Levi Metheny, of Eighty Four, Savannah Metheny, of Weston, and Jacob Metheny, Brent Metheny, and Lindsay and Brian Wilson, all of Mooreefield.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Albert, and Gilbert Metheny; and two grandchildren.

Ruth Elizabeth Molisee, of Kingwood, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Preston County, daughter of the late Gilbert and Mildred Metheny.
She was retired from Kingwood Foodland.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Molisee Jr.; a daughter, Vickie Spiker, of Kingwood; a son, Rick Miller, of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Barb Martin and Lois Simmons, both of Ohio; three brothers, Russell Metheny, Ray Metheny and Jerry Metheny, all of Kingwood; an adopted brother, Bob DeWitt, of Kingwood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Metheny.

Martin Goodwin
Martin Wayne Goodwin, 74, of Fairchance Road, in Morgantown, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Madison Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Oct. 6, 1926, in Morgantown, son of the late Martin L. and Sarah J. Taylor Goodwin.
He was Methodist. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Spruce Street Amoco Service Station for 38 years, until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Masonic Union Lodge 4 A.F.&A.M. of Morgantown .
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jo Ann Stewart Goodwin; a daughter and spouse, Sally and Conrad Means, of Fairmont; two sons and spouses, Timothy and Jenny Goodwin, and Carl and Penny Goodwin, all of Morgantown; nine grandchildren and spouses, Pa tty and Norman Desmuke, Robert Means, Kellie, Kasey, Kimberly and Karley Goodwin, Jeremy and Virginia Goodwin, Toby Goodwin, and Joey and Zachary Desmuke; a sister and spouse, Freda and Chuck Seaman, of Morgantown; a brother and spouse, Kenny and Ethel G oodwin, of Indiana; two stepbrothers and spouses, Ralph and Rita Norton, of Fairmont; and Arnold and Joan Norton, of California.

B. Edward Hollis
B. Edward Hollis, 61, of Scottsdale RD1, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, in Greensburg.
He was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, son of the late Raymond E. and Virginia P. Montgomery Hollis
He began his career alongside his father, in the Hollis Machine Shop, in Scottsdale, where he eventually became a proprietor. For 25 years, he was the owner of Uniontown Industrial Equipment Inc., until he retired in 1999. He was an active member of Moun t Pleasant Church of God, serving as a former trustee and elder. He was an avid supporter of and affiliated with Camp Carmel, in Dunbar; Camp Sunrise Mountain, in Markleysburg; and the Winebrenner Theological Seminary, of Findley, Ohio.
He was also a member of the 10/50 Investment Club, in Scottsdale, the Fort Allen Antique Tractor Club, at West Overton, and the East Huntingdon Township Municipal Sewage Authority. He also assisted the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He graduated f rom East Huntingdon High School in 1957, and served in the Army and Air Force reserves. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting coins, antique cars, stereos, gramophones, and was noted for his fields of wildflowers.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 38 years, Marjorie Harris Hollins; three daughters and spouses, Suzanne E. and Jim Messenger, of Fairmont, Barbara and John Edwards, of Jacksonvile, N.C., and Sharon L. and THE Rev. Timothy E. Beatty, of White; three grandchildren, Meghan Elizabeth Edwards, Johnathan Hollis Edwards and Gretchen Elizabeth Beatty; two sisters and spouses, Carolyn and Eugene Shelkey, of Scottsdale, and Katherine "Kay" and Richard Evans, of Beaver Falls, Pa.; and a sister -in-law and spouse, Helen and Albert Nahass, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond E. Hollis, on Jan. 16, 1996; and his mother, Virginia P. Montgomery Hollis, on Dec. 9, 1988.

Mary Alice Hall Maxon, 74, of Mount Morris, Pa, formerly of Westover, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 4, 1926, in Charleston, daughter of the late William S. and Ethel L. Powell King.
She helped operate Hall's "Mac" Tools in Westover. She was a member of the Westover United Methodist Church and was formerly employed at Sterling Faucet.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Maxon Sr., of Mount Morris; a daughter and spouse, Lynda and Nathan Mitchell, of Dilliner, Pa.; a stepson and spouse, Charles and Debbie Maxon Jr., of Mount Morris; a brother, Roger S. King, of Jefferson Parish, La.; two sisters, Jackie Sieger, of Pensacola, Fla., and Billie Jo Srbinovich, of Davistown, Pa; and eight grandchildren.

Roy E. Poling, 83, formerly of Grafton, died Jan. 24, 2001 at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg.
He was born July 31, 1917, son of the late Waitman T. and Ethel Wilmoth Poling.
He was a resident of Broaddus Long Term Care Nursing Home, Phillipi. He was a laborer for Mendelson Salvage Yard of Grafton.
He is survived by his second wife, Alice Campbell Poling, of Flemington; a nephew and spouse, Carl L. and Martha Poling, of Grafton; and a close friend, Mary Jane DeWolfe, of Grafton.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Pansy G. Hayes Jenkins Poling, on Dec. 10, 1964; two brothers, Jesse Poling and Paul Poling; a half-brother, Charles Wilmoth; and four sisters, Dorothy Farance, Pauline Louise Poling, Viola Berry and Evely * Cline.

She was born May 16, 1942, in Morgantown, daughter of the late William and Goldie Shaffer Mayfield.
She was a homemaker and Protestant.
She is survived by four sons, William G. Murray, of Martin, Pa., John F. Murray, Roger Lee Murray and Benny Ray Plum, all of Point Marion, Pa.; two brothers, Isaac Mayfield, of Morgantown, and Bill Mayfield, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Ida Mayfield, of M asontown, and Ada Providence, of Morgantown; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Darrel K. Reckart
Darrel K. "Bub" Reckart, 83, of Bruceton Mills, Cuzzart community, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, in the home of his granddaughter and spouse, Debbie and Steve Bishoff, with Hospice Care.
He was born Oct. 22, 1917, at Centenary, son of the late Isaac Benjamin and Olive Alberta Rodeheaver Reckart.
He was a member of Cuzzart Wesleyan Methodist Church.
He is survived by three stepsons, Arwin Adams, of Selma, Ala., Bob Adams, of Atlanta, and Kenneth Adams, of Bruceton Mills; a stepdaughter, Judy Michael, of Baltimore; two sisters, Madeline Cramer, of Albright, and Clara Nedrow, of Masontown; a brother, Benjamin Reckart, of Kingwood; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Adams Reckart, on Feb. 28, 1987; and four sisters, Beatrice Moon, June Reckart, Hazel Mahaffey and Maxine Dalton.

She was a homemaker.

Mary Luszcynski
Mary Lee Luszcynski, 70, of Monongah, died Jan. 25, 2001, at home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Monongah, daughter of the late George A. and Irene Composky Evans.
She was a memeber of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, in Monongah, and the Epsilon Omega Charter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Telephone Pioneers of Bell Atlantic Telephone. She worked 20 years for C&P Telephone as an operator and a construction cle rk. She graduated from Monongah High School in 1948. She loved to garden and tend her flowers. She served hot dogs for 20 years at St. Peter and Paul's school. She was the first person to take a maternity leave from C&P Telephone for an adoption.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edward Luszcynski; a daughter and spouse, Brenda Lee and Mark Moore, of Monongah; two grandchildren, Ryan and Bethany Moore, of Monongah; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Evans, of Fairmont.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, George E. "Sonny" Evans.

Pauline "Pasty" Pinion, 96, of Werninger Street, Clarksburg, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in United Hospital Center.
She was born March 30, 1904, in Monongah, daughter of the late Antonio and Angeline Maria Secreta Goots.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and William Marconi Lodge No. 1140, Sons of Italy. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons and a spouse, William Michael and Delores Pinion, of Clarksburg, and John Richard Pinion, of Anmoore; a daughter, Ada Trupo, of Bridgeport; a sister, Martha Fiorenza, Gainesville, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pinion, on April 2, 1993, whom she married June 26, 1921; a son, Joseph Anthony Pinion; two daughters, Julia Marie Tenda and Flora Pinion; three brothers, John Goots, Jim Goots and Frank Goots; and tw o sisters, Teresa Pinion and Mary Marra Malinotti.

M. Arlene Van Gilder
M. Arlene Van Gilder, 92, of Westover, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Madison Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 29, 1908, in Davis, daughter of the late Peter and Edna Goodwin Mullen.
She was a homemaker. She was Methodist.
She is survived by two daughters and spouses, Mary Lou and Al Titus, of Morgantown, and Ann and Ralph Crabb, of Tennessee; three sons and spouses, William and Doris Van Gilder, of Alabama, Richard and Fern Van Gilder, of Georgia, and Jim and Polly Van Gi lder, of Morgantown; and brother and spouse, Everett and Mary Gin Mullen, of Fairmont; two sisters-in-law, Helen Mullen and Virginia Van Gilder, both of Fairmont; 11 grandchildren, David Titus, Bill Titus, Jack Van Gilder, Steve Van Gilder, Carol Elliot, Joyce Bray, Bruce Crabb, Richard Van Gilder, Becky Ray, Robyn Naugle and Phillip Van Gilder; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence J. Van Gilder, in 1985; two brothers, Lawrence Mullen and Carl Williams; and two sisters, Leota Morris and Elsie Brown.
Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. Monday, and from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, with Pastor Bennie Moran officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Hills Cemetery.
Louis Meade Grow
Louis Meade Grow, 52, of Morgan Street, Morgantown, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at home.
He was born July 11, 1948, in Morgantown, son of Ruth Everly Grow, of Morgantown, and the late Robert Grow.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the 3rd Division of the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked at the WVU Physical Plant and served in the Army Reserve. He attended Suncrest United Methodist Church Drummond Chapel. He was a member of the Vie tnam Veterans' Association.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rebecca Freme Grow; a son, Justin Meade Grow, at home; a daughter, Jessica Grow, at home; a brother and spouse, Kenneth and Nora Grow, of Madison, Wis.; a sister and spouse, Terry and Roger Clements, of Hamilton, O hio.
Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, with the Rev. Ronald McCauley officiating. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Pruntytown.

Lillie Estelene Toothman
Lillie Estelene Fetty Toothman, 81, of Mount Airy, N.C., and formerly of Mannington, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was born Oct. 8, 1919, at Folsom, daughter of the late Daniel and Sabre Belle Hayhurst Fetty.
She retired as a licensed practical nurse, having worked in the local area as well as Massachusetts and Florida. She was a Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed needlecrafts and reading.
She is survived by four sons and spouses, Sherwin "Sonny" and Janie Toothman, of New Martinsville, Richard "Bud" and Barbara Ann Toothman, of Mannington, Alan Toothman, of Wheeling, and Dennis and Vicki Toothman, of Mannington; two daughters and spouses, Carol and Tom Booth, of Cana, Va., and Lorene and Steve Taylor, of Hamilton, Ohio; a brother, Daniel E. Fetty, of Wallace; a sister, Lorella Lane, of Fredericksburg, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherwin Toothman, on June 9, 1963; and eight brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, in Mannington, from noon until the 2:30 p.m. service, Sunday, Jan. 28, with Elder Jack Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Cemetery.
William Parks Jamison
William Parks Jamison, 70, of Aurora, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, in Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Pittsburgh, son of Fern Elsey Jamison, of Aurora, and the late Williams Parks Brown Jamison.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. He studied medical technology in college and then served in the U.S. Army. He was Methodist.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at the Aurora United Methodist Church, with Pastor Joe Robinette officiating. Burial will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton. Greathouse-Gemondo Fun eral Home, Nutter Fort, is in charge of arrangements.
