Shirley Ann Miller, 66, of Morgantown, formerly of Ravenswood, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Clay County, Feb. 2, 1935, daughter of the late Stavley and Etta Bell Lyons.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morgantown. She was a real estate agent for a number of years, and recently worked at Chyleen's 2's and 3's Daycare. She enjoyed church activities, quilting, bowling, crafts and collecting dolls and coins.
She is survived by her husband, Adam Wesley Miller Jr., of Morgantown; three children and spouses, Debbie and Harry Harpold, of Kingsport, Tenn., Jeff and Mary Miller, and Jan and Allan Johnson, all of Morgantown; five grandchildren and spouse, Dawn and Chris Lancaster, Justin Harpold, Nicole and Tiffany Miller, and Adam Johnson; twin great-grandsons, Tyler and Cameron; and sisters and brothers, Joy Wolfe, Virginia "Toots" Asbury, Mary Kay Staats and Tom Lyons, all of Ravenswood, Robert Lyons, of Linden , N.C., and Bill Lyons, of Willamstown.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Peg Lyke, and a granddaughter, Erica Jane Harpold.

Virginia Brock Neptune
Virginia Brock Neptune, 94, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 11, 1906, in Blacksville, daughter of the late Harvey and Olive Basnett Brock.
She graduated from West Virginia University and taught English in Blacksville High School. In 1949, she became secretary of the Fairmont YWCA, a position she held for 15 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was affiliated with the Woman's Christian Temperance Union for 60 years. For many years, she was extremely active in her college sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, of which she was a former national officer. She attended 18 national biennial conventions. Her chief hobby was travel .
She is survived by a sister and spouse, Dorothy and Phil Knisely, of Route 2, Fairview; and four nieces, Mrs. Kenneth Whisler, of Atlanta, Mrs. William Leeson, of LaVale, Md., Mrs. Frank Bakewell, of Washington, Pa., and Mrs. Donald McClimans, of Fort Meyers, Fla.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Brown; and her second husband, Allen Neptune, in 1963; and an older sister, Mrs. J. Worley (Mary) Powell, in January 1995.
The body will be cremated, with her ashes buried at St. John's Cemetery, Basnettville, at a later date. Domico Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Charles E. Stonebraker
Charles E. "Bud" Stonebraker, 81, of Bretz, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born Sept. 12, 1919, in Kingwood, son of the late Charles Valentine and Nettie Mae McCabe Stonebraker.
He was a veteran of World War II, a lifetime member of the American Legion of Dellslow; VFW of Kingwood and Masontown; and a member of UMW since 1965.
He is survived by two sons and spouse, Samuel and Diana Stonebraker, of Gladesville, and Michael Stonebraker, of Bretz; four daughters and spouses, Sharon Dian and Howard Gamble, of Grafton Road, Linda Joyce and Glenn Wolfe, of Bretz, Charlie and Cindy Bigler, of Kingwood and Angel and Joe Hardy, of Kingwood; three sisters and spouses, Mary Jane and Hubert Wolfe, of Kingwood, Jean and Roy Peterman, of Maryland, and Betty Tasker, of Maryland; a brother and spouse, Willie and Emma Stonebraker, of Albright ; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Bethelean Marie Smith Stonebraker; three brothers; and three sisters.

Anna Catherine Smith, 72, of Glover's Gap community, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Glover's Gap, daughter of the late Wilbur and Dorothy E. Six Glover.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter and spouse, Lydia and Charles Auxier, of Fairborn, Ohio; two sons and spouse, Franklin Paul and Sandra Smith, of Glover's Gap, and Arnold Smith, of Glover's Gap; four sisters, Carrie D. Rinehart, of Melbourne, Fla., Betty L. Fetty, of Tiltonsville, Ohio, Gertrude Lemley, of Wadestown, and Etta Bowers, of Campbell, Ohio; a brother, Robert Glover, of Steubenville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Simon Franklin Smith, on Jan. 7, 1972; two brothers, William A. Glover, and Jackie Paul Glover, who died in infancy; and three sisters, Louise Hinerman, Mary Dombroski and Wilma Jean Glover, who died in infancy.

Janet Imogene Harris, 86, of Granville, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Bernard and Lillian Sedgewick Weaver.
She was a laborer for Owens Illinois for 35 years in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Living by Faith Church.
She is survived by three brothers, Willard Weaver, of Grove City, Ohio, Thomas Weaver, of Columbus, and Bill Dawson, of Gahanna, Ohio; a sister, Roberta Cataline, of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Shirley Rasmussen, of Morgantown; and a niece, Theresa Harvey, of Jacksonville, Fla.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harris, in 1994; a brother, James Rasmussen; and a sister, Madeline Dull.

Jeanne Hickman King
Jeanne Hickman King, 77, of Pixler Hill Road, Morgantown, formerly of Mount Morris, Pa., died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at her daughter's home in Westover.
She was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Mount Morris, daughter of the late Ralph E. and Ruth Fitzgerald Hickman.
She was a homemaker, and was retired from the Monongalia County Tax Office. She was formerly employed by the West Virginia Tuberculosis Association. She was a longtime member of the Mount Morris United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary in Mount Morris, the Mount Morris Thimble Club, and was formerly the Mount Morris area correspondent for The Dominion Post.
She is survived by her second husband, Paul M. King; a son and spouse, Richard E. "Rick" and Ruth Ann King, of Hurricane; two daughters and spouse, Sharon and Kerry Slinde, of Westover, and Karen Johnson, of Mount Morris; a sister, Hilda O'Brien, of Washington, Pa.; a stepson, Charles King, of Ossipee, N.H.; a stepdaughter, Ada Fletcher, of Newport, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul I. King; and a son, Scott King.

Velva "Sis" Vaglienti, 78, of Barberton, Ohio, died Monday, May 7, 2001, in Barberton, Ohio.
She was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Beechwood, daughter of the late Alfred Tichenor and Sarah Han Tichenor.
She was a member of the Civitan, the Orioles Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Country Music Association, all of Barberton.
She is survived by a son and spouse, Richard and Marie Vaglienti, of Shelbina, Mo.; a daughter, L. Karen Knotts, of Barberton; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Vaglienti, and several brothers and sisters.

Lucille Feather Garbart, 81, of Kingwood, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Albright, daughter of the late Paul and Anna Lee Feather.
She was a teacher in the Preston County school system and retired in 1982 as social services director at Hopemont State Hospital in Terra Alta. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingwood.
She is survived by a son and spouse, Robert H. and Judith O. Reckart, of Morgantown; a daughter, Hope L. Bolyard, of Morgantown; a daughter and spouse, Paulette and Douglas Metheny, of Kingwood; a sister, Dorothy Elliott, of Kingwood; four grandchildren, Lyle Bolyard, of Bruceton Mills, Chad and Ryan Metheny, both of Kingwood, and Jessie Feather Reckart, of Morgantown; four nieces and a nephew.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Darlo Hugh Reckart in 1970; and her second husband, Paul E. Garbart in 1984.

Stanley J. 'Big Man' Zalar
Stanley J. "Big Man" Zalar, 82, of Greensboro, Pa., died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.
He was born Oct. 20, 1918, in Bakersville, Somerset County, Pa., son of the late Frank and Frances Korosec Zalar.
He was a 1939 graduate of Mapleton High School and lived in the Greensboro area most of his life. He retired from the Duquesne Light Warwick Mine in 1988, after 45 years, and was an outstanding carpenter. He was also a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Greensboro, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1932, of Point Marion, Pa.
He is survived by a son and spouse, Stephen and Marie Zalar, of Greensboro; five daughters and spouses, Barbara and Ronald Lako, of Wyandotte, Mich., Geraldine and Robert Pletcher, of Pittsburgh, Mary C. and Charles Bokat, Susan Zalar, and Sheila Zalar, all of Carmichaels, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Ronald Lako, Maria Pinkowsky, Jonathan Pletcher, James Pletcher, Tonya Woodring, Stephen Zalar, John Bokat and Barbie Bokat; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Mesich Zalar, whom he married July 12, 1940, and who died July 19, 1979; six brothers, Louis, Anthony, Albert, Frank, Joseph and Edward Zalar; and three sisters, Mary Dolinar, Pearl Erjavec and Frances Sudar.

Thomas E. "Gene" Bowsher, 78, of Morgantown, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.
He was born May 1, 1923, in Morgantown, son of Carrie Cantis, of Morgantown, and the late Ralph Bowsher.
He worked for Sterling Faucet Co. in Sabraton for 31 years.
He is also survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Virginia Bowsher; a stepdaughter and spouse, Linda and Donald Waycaster, of Morgantown; a brother, Robert Bowsher, of Morgantown; a sister, Frances Stover, of Morgantown; two grandchildren, Sean Blosser, of Richmond, Va., and Kendra Blosser, of Morgantown; and a great-grandchild, Breunn Frazier.
He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Carl Caltuna; two sisters, Margaret Voithofer and Pauline Pixler; and a brother, Ray Bowsher.

Thomas Fletcher, 79, of Morgantown, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.
He was born June 21, 1921, in Morgantown, son of the late Charles B. and Flossie Lee Tennant Fletcher.
He was a retired coal miner from CONSOL's Osage Mine, a member of UMW District 31 and a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Fletcher; four daughters and spouses, Catherine and Nicholas Palmer, Rebecca and Lester Poling, all of Morgantown, Sandra and James Goodwin, of McDonald, Pa., and Thomasine and Richard Weber, of Core; two brothers, Emory Fletcher, of Morgantown, and Bradley Fletcher, of Mount Morris, Pa.; three sisters, Mary Wade, of Waynesburg, Pa., Clara Morris, of Morgantown, and Ruby Holbert, of Maidsville; and six grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Willis Wright; and a sister, Deloris Fletcher.

Thelma Lee McClurg, 72, of Morgantown, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 18, 1929, in Dellslow, daughter of the late George and Icie Hamrick Leach.
She was a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. McClurg; three sons and spouses, Kenneth E. and Penny McClurg, of Bruceton Mills, George and Pam McClurg, of Jacobsburg, Ohio, and John McClurg, of Morgantown; four daughters and spouses, Joyce and Dan Ayoob, Susan and Rick Neely, and Linda McClurg, all of Morgantown, and Donna and Chris Rastin, of Canada; nine brothers and sisters; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pete Machine Jr., 76, of Nilan Hill, R.D. 1, Point Marion, Pa., died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at home.
He was born July 11, 1924, in Lake Lynn, Pa., son of the late Pete and Harriet Bryner Machine Sr.
He was Apostolic. He was formerly employed in area coal mines.
He is survived by two brothers, Thomas Machine, of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Joseph Machine, of Baltimore; and a half sister, Anna Shaffer, of Baltimore.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Nick and Luther; and by two sisters, Mary and Margaret.

Donald R. Moore
Donald R. Moore, 65, of Warner Robins, Ga., died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Houston Medical Center.
He was born in Jakes Run and grew up in Washington, Pa. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Calvert Moore, of Warner Robins; three daughters, Kitty Rummel and April Williams, both of Warner Robins, and Yvonne Borun, of Crawford County; a son, Donald Moore, of Warner Robins; three sisters, Jean Westfall and Vivian Caldwell, both of Washington, and Alberta Kennedy, of Burton; a brother, Raymond Moore, of Warren, Mich.; a son-in-law, Daniel Williams, of Warner Robins; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Aldine and Betty Lou Moore and Faye Campbell; five brothers, Cliff, Robert, Paul, Rex and Billy Moore; and his stepfather, William Phillips.
Service was held at Magnolia Park with Bishop Dan Boland officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Tennant Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Louise V. Jaco Lambert
Louise Virginia Jaco Lambert, 81, of Grafton, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1919, in Grafton, daughter of the late David Warden Jaco and Zena Virginia Dofflemyer Jaco.
She was owner and operator of Lambert's Greenhouse. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 12, in Grafton, and the White Shrine in Fairmont. She was a member of Brethren Church in Grafton and attended the Pruntytown United Methodist Church in Pruntytown.
She is survived by five sons and three spouses, Charles and Linda Lambert Jr., of Virginia Beach, Va., David and Linda Lambert, of Grafton, William and Phyllis Lambert, of Simpson, and John Lambert and Stephen Lambert, both of Grafton; two daughters and a spouse, Catherine Humphrey, of Grafton, and Zena and Dennis Reynolds, of Morgantown; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers and spouses, Charles and Mary Jaco, of Bridgeport, and David and Norma Jaco Jr., of Grafton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Floyd Lambert; a grandson; and two brothers, William "Bus" and Frederick Jaco.

Bonney Jean Wolfe
Bonney Jean Wolfe, 48, of Kingwood, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.
She was born June 10, 1952, in Grafton, daughter of Lillian Maxine Funk Wolfe, of Tunnelton, and the late William Clyde Wolfe.
She was employed at Kinney Shoe Factory for 15 years until it closed and then served the community as a caregiver for the elderly and assisted many area businesses and residents in household chores. She was an avid volunteer with Hospice Care Corp., 4-H, Girl Scouts, and the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department during festival time, and was well-known for her love of the Mountaineer football team and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingwood.
She is also survived by two brothers and one spouse, Terry W. Wolfe, of Thornton, and Larry and Renee Wolfe, of Tunnelton; a sister and spouse, Nancy and Eugene Metz, of Thornton; three nieces and nephews, Kim and Jeff Goodwin, and Regenia Metz, all of Thornton, and Tressa Wolfe of Tunnelton; a great-niece, Kayla Dawn Goodwin; and her cats, Amos and Andy.
She was also preceded in death by twin infant brothers, Carroll and Darrell Wolfe; a sister, Carolyn Sue Wolfe; maternal grandparents, Clinton and Gladys Funk; and paternal grandparents, Hallie and Gladys Wolfe.

Mary Mae Roth Aiello, 58, of Montpeliar Addition, Clarksburg, died Wednesday, May 19, 2001, at home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1942, in Blue Rock, daughter of the late Alden Roth and Eva Mullenix Roth.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Summit Park Baptist Church, where she took an active role in the church's activities. She was also a member of Certified Nurses Association, having worked in several nursing homes in the Clarksburg area.
She is survived by her companion, Richard Cabo, of Clarksburg; three daughters, Pearl Elizabeth West, of Florida, Mary Teressa Fowler, and Alberta Antoinette Aiello, both of Clarksburg; two brothers, Monte Roth, of Clarksburg, and James Roth, of Ohio; four sisters, Zola Mahus, of Fayetteville, N.C., Eula Currence, of Maybe, Rose Marie Sandy, of Clarksburg, and Ada Faye Wick, of Florida; and four grandchildren, Royelle Mooney, David Garner, Anthony Aiello and Iziah Hill.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Freddie West; her second husband, Anthony "Catfish" Aiello; and two brothers, John David Roth, and Jackie Fenton.

Virginia Bell Copen, 74, of Morgantown, formerly of Akron, Ohio, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born May 28, 1926, in Elizabeth, daughter of the late Ransom and Laura Ledsome Copen.
She was a retired seamstress and a member of the First Apostolic Church.
She is survived by a son and spouse, Robert and Janet England, of Morgantown; a brother, Willard Copen, of Akron, Ohio; a sister, Rose Patterson, of Hawaii; a grandson and spouse, Michael and Vivian England, of Morgantown; and a great-granddaughter, Sydnee England, of Morgantown.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

John Wesley Malott
John Wesley Malott, 87, of Morgantown, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at Sundale Nursing Facility.
He was born April 7, 1914, in Mount Morris, Pa., son of the late Charles W. and Mary Martha "Molly" LaPoe Malott.
He was Methodist. He was employed by U.S. Steel as a bricklayer from 1952 until his retirement in 1978.
He is survived by a son and spouse, Ronald and Patricia Malott, of Morgantown; two daughters and spouses, Martha and Bruce Lipscomb, of Morgantown and Roberta and James Duell, of Oswego, N.Y.; a brother, Ernest Eugene Malott, of Texas; a sister, Mildred Sawcyzyn, of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Wesley E. Malott, in 1978; a granddaughter, Nicole A. Malott; a brother, Arnold Malott; and a sister, Lona Weaver.

Lawrence Junior DeBerry, 69, of Reedsville, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at home.
He was born May 3, 1931, in Masontown, son of Aldona P. Sisler DeBerry, of Masontown, and the late Lawrence Edgar DeBerry.
He was a graduate of Masontown High School. He began his military career on Jan. 18, 1950 and retired on Dec. 11, 1971, with 22 years of active service and eight years in the Reserves. He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War with honors. He trained reserve units in Parris Island, S.C., was an instructor for the crash crew at the U.S. Naval Station in Millington, Tenn., and was the commander of the Marine security guard at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Saint Albans, N.Y. He was a lifetime member of Masontown VFW Post 1589 and the Marine Corps Association. He was a member of the Aircraft Masontown VFW Post 1589 and the Marine Corps Association. He was a member of St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontow n.
He is also survived by his wife, Arlene "Rusty" DeBerry; two daughters and spouses, Deborah and Ronald Lemasters, of Stephens City, Va., and Denise and Brian Trickett, of Arthurdale; four brothers, Rodney DeBerry, of Greensboro, Pa., Roger DeBerry, of Buena Vista, Va., Larry and Thomas DeBerry, both of Kingwood; a sister, Betty Wanta Martin, of Terra Alta; and four grandchildren, Andrew and Jennifer Lemasters, Brian Trickett Jr., and Brandis Trickett.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Jay DeBerry.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Herring with the Rev. Mark Ward officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Preston County VFW posts. Joseph Locke Boliner
Joseph Locke "Spark" Boliner, 77, of Grafton, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at home under the care of Hospice.
He was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Grafton, son of the late Charles F. and Mary Locke Boliner.
He was retired from the Equitable Gas Co. as general fieldman. He served in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Duckworth; two daughters and spouses, Kathy and Jim Lunden, of Morgantown, and Mary Ellen and Bob Beltner, of Grafton; and three grandsons, Ian Lunden, of Morgantown, and Chip and Nicholas Wolfe, both of Grafton.

Burhl Miller
Burhl Miller, 87, of Albright (Valley Point community), died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 30, 1913, on Beech Run near Albright, daughter of the late Marshall O. and Hannah Graham Harned.
She was a member of Mount Moriah United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Kermit W. Miller, of Albright; two sons and spouses, J. Max and Carol Appleby Miller, of Bruceton Mills, and Marvin K. and Lana McCutcheon Miller, of Woodbridge, Va.; a daughter and spouse, Marion F. and J. Ronald Feather, of Kingwood; a brother, Marshall Harned Jr., of Albright; a sister, Clarice Harned Bishop, of Albright; five grandchildren, Lesa J. Feather, of Albright, Joshua D. Feather, of Kingwood, Jason and Anne Miller, of Woodbridge, Va., and Steve and Wanda Toot hman Miller, of Odenton, Md.; and two great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Casey Miller, of Odenton.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Harned White Feather in 1987; an infant granddaughter, Veronica Joy Feather; and an infant grandson, Michael Dean Feather.
Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, until the 1 p.m. service with the Rev. Vicki Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Albright.
Gloria Hess Roberson
Gloria Hess Roberson, 70, of Vienna, Ill., formerly of Morgantown, died Monday, April 30, 2001, in Salem County Nursing Home, Mannington Township, Salem, N.J.
She was born in Morgantown, daughter of the late Jefferson S. and Wilda Faye Bell Hess.
She worked as a secretary and was also a homemaker and enjoyed crafts. She lived with her sister, Dollie Ball, of Elsinboro Township (N.J.), prior to entering the nursing home.
She was a member of the United Pentacostal church in Deepwater, N.J., and was a former president of the Democrat Women's Club in Morgantown. She was also a former member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Sabraton.
She is also survived by two daughters, Virginia "Ginger" Koteles, of Reno, Nev., and Olive Hayes, of Spokane, Wash.; a brother, John S. Hess, of Dominican Republic; a sister, Patty Panico, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Samuel and John McGinnis.
Service was held at Woodside Funeral Home, 34 Oak St., Salem. Burial was in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove Township, N.J.
