Mabel E. Wilson, 97, of Daybrook Road, Fairview, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Wishing Well Manor, Fairmont.
She was born Dec. 20, 1903, at Daybrook, daughter of the late Elroy and Seyrena Wilson Yost.
She was a homemaker and life member of Daybrook Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting. She was a former member of Daybrook Senior Citizens.
She is survived by a nephew and spouse, Billy D. and Wilma Williams, of Daybrook; four nieces, Alberta Rush, of Greensburg, Pa., Francellia Towles, of Fairmont, Genevieve Saunders, of Fairmont, and Correll and Donald Cummins, of Melbourne, Fla.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and seven stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Eddy; her second husband, Stace Wilson; two sisters, Eva Williams and Hattie Yost; and two stepsons, Teddy Wilson and Ivan Wilson.

Roy Whitehair
Roy Whitehair, 90, of Terra Alta, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md.
He was born Oct. 22, 1910, in Terra Alta, son of the late Enzer and Annie Dumire Whitehair.
He had worked as a farmer and butcher. He was a member of Whitedale Brethren Church, Terra Alta, where he served several years as a deacon and Sunday School superintendent. He also attended Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church, in Crellin, Md., and was active with the Crellin Senior Citizens organization.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Freda Slaubaugh Whitehair; a daughter and spouse, Betty Jo and Edward Richards, of Allentown, Pa.; a sister and spouse, Blanche and Bob Lindsey, of Clarksburg; a brother and spouse, Walter and Jeannie Whitehair, of Aurora; a grandson and spouse, Scott and Karen Richards, of Emmaus, Pa.; a granddaughter and spouse, Liane and Stephen Meli, of Allentown; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Erma Whitehair; a brother, Earl Whitehair; and a sister and spouse, Grace and Ronald Bibb.

Hannah T. Kingan
Hannah T. Kingan, 91, of Clarksville, Pa., died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born June 19, 1909, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of the late Crawford and Gertrude Miller Moore.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Pitt Gas, Pa.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Cyr, of Pitt Gas; two sons, Albert T. Kingan Jr. and Jack Kingan, both of Clarksville; two brothers, George Moore, of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Charles Moore, of Brownsville, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert T. Kingan Sr., on Sept. 27, 1988; and several brothers and sisters.

Douglas W. Riley
Douglas W. Riley, 36, of Kingwood, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood.
He was born Nov. 14, 1964, in Kingwood, son of the late William J. Jr. and Flora Alice Riley Scott.
He worked for the Sheltered Workshop.
He is survived by three sisters and a companion, Joan DeBerry and Roy Newlon, Margaret Riley and Polly Ann Buckingham, all of Kingwood; two nieces, Melissa Zweyer and Brittany Riley, both of Kingwood; and four nephews, Steve DeBerry, Patrick DeBerry, Mike DeBerry and Christopher Riley, all of Kingwood.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Mary Riley.

Fred Livengood
Fred E. Livengood, 87, of Bruceton Mills, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Heartland of Preston County, Kingwood.
He was born May 22, 1914, at Cherry Grove, son of the late Samuel Will and Maude A. Smith Livengood.
He was a retired farmer and the owner and operator of Livengood Slaughter. He was a member of Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dollie M. Sines Livengood; six sons and spouses, Ersel and Barbara Livengood, of Waldorf, Md., Loraine Livengood, of Bruceton Mills, Elvon and Ann Livengood, of Bruceton Mills, Roger and Janet Livengood, of Bruceto* Mills, David and Gloria Livengood, of Reedsville, and Wills and Pam Livengood, of Morgantown; a daughter, Izetta Dalton, of Morgantown; a brother, Ward Livengood, of Friendsville, Md.; a sister, Ruby Rodehaver, of Bruceton Mills; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Susan Krutko
Susan Batovsky Krutko, 88, of Warren, Ohio, and formerly Carmichaels, Pa., died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Horizon Village Nursing Home, Warren.
She was born Jan. 13, 1913, at Devicany, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late John and Susan Valentik Batovsky.
She was a 50-year resident of West Street in Carmichaels, where she attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting and reading. She was known for her cards and letters to family and friends. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Cortland, Ohio.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) Brown, with whom she made her home in Cortland for six years; three sons, Paul Krutko, of Strongsville, Ohio, Daniel Krutko, of Eastlake, Ohio, and Robert Krutko, of Rosamond, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Batovsky, of Silver Spring, Md.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Krutko, on Dec. 9, 1984; whom she married Feb. 6, 1932; a son, Melvin Krutko; a grandson, Brian Krutko; and three brothers, Daniel Batovsky, John Batovsky and Martin Batovksy.

George Richard Poling
George "Dick" Richard Poling, 65, of Fairmont, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Fairmont, son of the late George Washington and Anna Marie Sheranko Poling.
He was last employed in maintenance at Hills Department Store in Fairmont. Prior to that, he had worked at the former Davis Auto on Speedway in Fairmont and also as a general contractor and roofer. He loved fishing at Prickett's Fort before he became ill. He was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. He was Protestant.
He is survived by his wife, Doris A. Nelson Poling; four daughters and spouses, Sherry and Larry Moi, Wanda and Chuck Keener, Brenda and Dave Davis and Shirley and Danny Quirk, all of Fairmont; three stepdaughters and spouses, Rhonda and Paul Selmon, of Bridgeport, Mary Anne Rundle, of Fairmont, and Jennifer and David Perkins, of Fairmont; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; an uncle, George Sheranko, of Montana Mines; and two aunts.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Carpenter, Jean Kittle and Ruth Ann Miller; a brother in infancy; and a stepson, John Dee Rundle.
The body will be cremated. A memorial service will be at a later date.

Edna M. Haines
Edna M. Haines, 91, of Bobtown, Pa., died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Triplett Personal Care Home, in Westover.
She was born May 18, 1910, in Allegany, Md., daughter of the late John Francis and Mary Ann Sperry Niner.
She was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, in Bobtown, and a lifetime member of the Rosary Altar Society.
She is survived by four sons, Melvin E. Haines, of Dilliner, Pa., Carl L. "Bud" Haines Jr., of Bobtown, Larry D. Haines, of Latrobe, Pa., and Dana M. Haines, of Point Marion, Pa.; a sister, Anna LaVerne Horne, of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Haines, on June 10, 1987, and by six brothers and five sisters.

Earl F. Huffman
Earl F. Huffman, 72, of RR 6, Bunners Ridge, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at the Arbors at Fairmont Nursing Center.
He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Marion County, son of the late Luther H. and Bessie Melvina Haun Huffman.
He was a radio operator in the U.S. Army. He was a construction worker for Jesse Stewart Construction, Rogers & Iams and S&M Kisner. He was a member of the Mount Nebo Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors, and spending time with family, especially watching his grandchildren. He was a member of the Sagebrush Round-up. He was known as "Popeye the Sailor Man" on his CB radio.
He is survived by two sons and a spouse, Frank and Carol Huffman and David Huffman, all of Fairmont; a daughter, Becky Huffman, of Fairmont; a stepson and spouse, Richard and Sandy Sliger, of Mannington; two brothers and a spouse, Albert Huffman and Kenny and Barbara Huffman, all of Fairmont; and three grandchildren, Courtney Huffman, Jacob Huffman and Brent Huffman.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha May Sliger Huffman, on Feb. 22, 1987; a brother, Lewis H. Huffman; and a sister in infancy.

Albert R. 'Dick' Waters
Albert R. "Dick" Waters, 72, of Emery Street, Grafton, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, after a brief illness.
He was born June 15, 1928, in Grafton, son of Albert Charles and Eileen Yates Waters.
He was retired from CSX Railroad after 33 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Augustine Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Lander Waters, whom he married on Nov. 17, 1964; two sons, Richard R. Waters, of Grafton, and James R. Waters, of Solon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Damon, Devon, Brittney, Andrew and Brandon Waters; three brothers, William, Johnny and Thomas Waters, all of Grafton; three sisters and a spouse, Sarah Sue and Charles Dale Myers, Mary Alice Fisher and Patricia Ann Waters, all of Grafton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert J. Waters and Charles David "Chauncey" Waters.

Douglas K. Anderson
Douglas K. Anderson, 83, of Wintersville, Ohio, formerly of Mannington, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Clarksburg, son of the late Kenzy and Eva Morris Anderson.
He was retired from Standard Slag Co. in Mingo Junction, Ohio, and was a World War II veteran. He was Protestant.
He is survived by a son and spouse, Russell and Carol Anderson, of Bloomingdale, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chrissy, Tracy and Rusty Anderson, of Bloomingdale; and a brother and spouse, Clarence "Norman" and Kate Anderson, of Mannington.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Marie Anderson, on Nov. 25, 1987; and a sister, Stella Anderson Bennett.

Garnett Manella Neptune
Garnett Manella Neptune, 92, of Idamay, formerly of Mannington, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Arbors in Fairmont.
She was born Jan. 28, 1909, in Wetzel Run, Marion County, daughter of the late Amos Newton and Lou Daisy Whetzel Neptune.
She had worked for the U.S. government for more than 30 years. She was Protestant and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
She is survived by a sister, Gene Neptune, of Idamay; and a brother, Robert L. Neptune, of Idamay.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Auble Neptune, Amos Neptune Jr. and Wendell Neptune; an infant brother; and an infant sister.
Service will be at Masters Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, with the Rev. Douglas Barber officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
Leslie Marvin Smith
Leslie Marvin Smith, 74, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Garards Fort, Pa., son of the late Leslie Cleveland and Gracie Ellen Stansbury Smith.
He was a 1944 graduate of Mapletown High School and a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels. He was a member of the church choir and served as president of the Board of Deacons.
He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461, Waynesburg, Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and Trea at Oakdale, Pa. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II. He was stationed at Wiesbaden, Germany.
He enlisted with the U.S. Army Reserve. He was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis and afterward served at Fort Lee, Va., in Korea, Fort Meade, Ind., Vietnam, Butzbach, Germany, and Fort Dix, N.J.
He taught ROTC at Duquesne University for two years before a tour of duty in Korea, at Fort Ord, Calif., and Nuremberg, Germany. He retired from the military at Fort Meade as a Senior Master Sergeant, E-8, did civil service work at Fort Meade and later at Oakdale until retiring in 1988.
He is survived by his wife whom he married in 1949, Ruthella Shimek Smith; two daughters and spouses, Jo Ellen and Gary Mozingo, of Springfield, Va., and Leslie and Vincent Ferrari, of Bowie, Md.; two grandchildren, Matthew Mozingo and Christina Ferrari; a brother, Wayne E. Smith, of Garards Fort; and a sister and spouse, Alice and Phillip Aaron, of Kentucky.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Olive Flint.

Burnette Liming Thomas, 88, of Route 1, Burton, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at home.
She was born May 26, 1913, at Route 1, Wadestown, daughter of the late Frank and Ethel Haines Liming.
She was a member of the Liming Ridge Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons and a spouse, Garold Thomas, of Woodbridge, Va., and Dennis and Rose Thomas, of Route 1, Burton; two daughters and spouses, Bernice and Bob Critchfield, of Metz, and Linda and Dave Tennant, of Wadestown; a sister, Faye Liming, of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Thomas, on April 2, 1993; a son, Carl Thomas; and two sisters, Mildred Whisler and June Dawson.

Della G. Kennedy, 77, of Cameron, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Reynoldsville Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale.
She is the daughter of the late Clyde and Jenny Gorby Harrington.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jeff "Virginia F." Grant, of Cameron; two sons and a spouse, Earnest Jr. and Pauline Kennedy, of Cameron, and Ralph "Jim" Kennedy, of St. Clairsville, Ohio; two brothers, Clyde Harrington, of Alliance, Ohio, and Charles Harrington, of Cameron; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Kennedy; a daughter, Blanche Carol "Pee-Wee" McClelland; a brother; and a sister.

John Michael Romito
John Michael "Mike" Romito, 53, of Smithtown Road, Morgantown, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 23, 1948, in Morgantown, son of the late Anthony Nicholas and Glory June Ringer Romito.
He was Methodist and was self-employed as a plasterer/painter for several years. He enjoyed music and loved playing his guitar.
He is survived by a son, Michael Anthony Romito Hartman; two brothers and spouses, Anthony Dan and Pat Romito, of McClellandtown, Pa., and William D. Romito and Joyce Hunt, of Morgantown; two half brothers, Joe Romito and Jim Romito; two half sisters, Ginger Romito and Lu Ann Romito; and a grandson, Austin Michael Hartman.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Kim Romito.

Ernest O. Watson, 77, of Weston, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 7, 1924, in Kennett, Mo., son of the late Ernest and Etta Watson Sr.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 675, AFL-CIO. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Corrine Cash Watson; four daughters and spouses, Barbara and John Moore, of Henry, Tenn., Georgia and Dwight Simmons, of Anderson, S.C., Wanda and Virgil Reyer, of New Milton, and Rebecca Snider, of Weston; two sisters, Vida Watson, of Vicksburg, Mich., and Betty Jean Whaley, of Bald Knob, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, with members of Grafton VFW organizations conducting military rites at graveside.

Robert H. "Bob" Hoy, 72, of Mannington, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Mannington, son of the late George E. and Hazel Spencer Hoy.
He had worked for the City of Mannington and had retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways, Mannington Division. He was a member of the Deep Valley Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Ada Mae Tanner Hoy; two sons and spouses, Jimmy and Debbie Hoy, and Robert Eugene and Roberta Hoy, all of Mannington; a daughter and spouse, Barbara and Mark Hamrick, of Wallace; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a stepson and spouse, Larry and Nancy Tanner, of Mannington; and a stepdaughter and spouse, Sue and Rick Schapperle, of New Hampshire.

Burnette Liming Thomas
Burnette Liming Thomas, 88, of Route 1, Burton, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at home.
She was born May 26, 1913, at Route 1, Wadestown, daughter of the late Frank and Ethel Haines Liming.
She was a member of the Liming Ridge Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons and a spouse, Garold Thomas, of Woodbridge, Va., and Dennis and Rose Thomas, of Route 1, Burton; two daughters and spouses, Bernice and Bob Critchfield, of Metz, and Linda and Dave Tennant, of Wadestown; a sister, Faye Liming, of Parkersburg; a daughter-in-law, Josephine Thomas, of Grafton; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Thomas, on April 2, 1993; a son, Carl Thomas; and two sisters, Mildred Whisler and June Dawson.
Service will be at Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Wadestown Cemetery.
Mary Weekley Watkins
Mary Louise Weekley Watkins, 80, of Rivesville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born June 7, 1921, in Taylor County, daughter of the late Harry James and Icie Belle Bennett Weekley.
She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ, formerly of Washington Street, currently of Oakwood Road. She was a graduate of Fairmont Business College with a bachelor of science degree in business. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Golden Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by a daughter and spouse, Carolyn Lee and Capt. Larry Wable, of Rivesville; three grandchildren, Heather Sherae and James DeWees, of Westminster, Md., and Chad Wayne Wable, of Morgantown; and a great-grandchild, Mackenzie Lee DeWees.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Lee Watkins.
