Vito Tranquilo Esposito
Vito Tranquilo Esposito, 86, of Logan, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at Logan General Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1915, in Cenadi, Italy, son of the late Vito N. and Rosa Roselli Esposito.
He attended public schools in Logan County after his immigration to the United States in the 1920s. He graduated from Logan High School while working for the family grocery store. After coursework at Bowling Green Business College, he finished his undergraduate study at San Diego State College, where he received a bachelor's degree in business administration. He attended Texas Christian University and Marshall University, where he received a master's degree. He was a teacher at Logan High School and principal at Logan East Junior High School. He retired in 1985. He was a member of the Blue Lodge Masons, 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner, receiving a 50-year service pin from Blue Lodge and Scottish Rites. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, past president of the Principals Association and a member of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Lamp Esposito; six children and spouses, Vito and Betty Esposito, of Potomac, Md., Michael and Frankie, Thomas and Pamella Esposito, and Rose Marie and Jim Rupe, all of Logan, John Esposito, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Patrick and Caroline Esposito, of Morgantown; a brother, E. John Esposito, of Wilmington, N.C.; and six grandchildren, Anne Elizabeth Esposito, of Bethesda, Md., Lesli Christine Esposito, of Friendship Heights, Md., Patrick Esposito II, of Charleston, Cara Marie Esposito, of Morgantown, and Thomas Vito and Mary Catherine Esposito, both of Logan.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 22, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill. Honaker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Henry Louis Miller
Henry Louis Miller, 80, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Parkersburg, died Wednesday June 20, 2001, at home after a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Harrisville, son of the late Henry Louis Miller Sr. and Mertie Roe Miller.
He was a longtime member of the Seventh Street United Methodist Church. He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1939, where he played in its marching band. He served in the 504th U.S. Army Signal Air Warning Battalion, from 1942-1945, and saw action in Normandy, the Ardennes, and Germany during that time. He was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. After the war, he was employed at the Imperial Dairy/Fairmont Foods for more than 30 years in its accounting/data processing units, and also was a data processing supervisor at dairies in Philadelphia, and Phoenix, Ariz., before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beulah McGraw Miller, of Parkersburg; two daughters and spouses, Ginny Miller and George B. Armistead, of Morgantown, and Jill Miller Short and Geoffery R. Short, of Phoenix; and two grandsons and a spouse, John A. and Nancy McCoy, and Matthew G. Armistead, all of Morgantown.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Emma Lou McManus.
Burial was at Phoenix Memorial Park, in Phoenix, following a private graveside ceremony. Donations: Seventh Street United Methodist Church, 1801 Seventh St., Parkersburg, WV 26101.
Greynell Watson
Greynell Watson, 76, of Reedsville, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Morgantown, daughter of the late M.T. and Marie Stump.
She worked for many years for Preston County Light and Power, and was a longtime Girl Scout leader in Preston County. She retired to tend the farm she loved. She was also a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church, Reedsville United Methodist Women, Arthurdale Women's Club, Masontown Homemakers and Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Watson, of Reedsville; a son and spouse, William R. and Kathy Watson, of Reedsville; a daughter and spouse, Carol and Robert Scarton, of Woodbridge, Va.; a sister, Helen Jo Nichols, of Hollywood, Fla.; and two grandsons, Jason Watson, and Steven Scarton.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Barton.

Rev. Hearl Jones Jr.
The Rev. Hearl Jones Jr., 72, of Monumental, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born June 29, 1928, in Pine Grove, Marion County, son of the late Hearl Jones Sr. and Virginia A. McCoy Jones Criss.
He was an ordained minister and most recently was the pastor at the White Rock Community Church. He had also served several Methodist and United Brethren churches throughout West Virginia and Virginia. He was a member of the Independent Ministerial Association. He enjoyed making pastoral visitations, hunting, fishing, camping and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty L. Wills Jones; two daughters and a spouse, Brenda and Dale Prim, of Greenwood, and Linda Jones, of Staunton, Va.; two brothers, Butch Jones, of Farmington, and Kenneth Jones, of Fairmont; two sisters and a spouse, Ella Frances Sopuch, of Farmington, and Jeanette and Pat Patrick, of Farmington; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons, Randy and Gary Alan Jones; an infant brother, Paul Jones; and a brother-in-law, John Sopuch.

Virchie Mae Kendall
Virchie Mae Kendall, 84, of Mannington, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Wishing Well Health Center in Fairmont.
She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Smithfield, daughter of the late William and Sarah Elizabeth Jackson Brewer.
She was a member of Brink Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending the Mannington Senior Citizens Center and knitting.
She is survived by a son and spouse, Ardis and Sally Kendall, of Mannington; a daughter and spouse, Joan and John West, of Summerfield, Fla.; five grandchildren, Brenda DeWine, of Springfield, Ohio, Glenda Radel, of Cincinnati, David West, of Springfield, Teresa Kendall, of Fairmont, and Kevin Kendall, of Morgantown; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elviria Powell, of Smithfield.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth "Sam" Kendall, on Oct. 27, 1971; and 15 brothers and sisters.

Donald Wayne Hayes
Donald Wayne Hayes, 66, of Hough Addition, Mannington, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1934, in Mannington, son of the late Carney and Mary Allen Hayes.
He retired from RCA, in Camden, N.J., with 40 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Audrey Hayes, of Maple Shade, N.J.; a son, Michael Hayes, of New Jersey; a grandson, Corey Ptaszenski, of New Jersey; a son-in-law, Bob Ptaszenski, of New Jersey; a sister and spouse, Rhonda and Reid Martin, of Mannington; a brother, Gary Hayes, of Monongah; his former wife, Cecelia Hayes, of Florida; mother-in-law, Vera Jenkins, of Florida; nephew, Jason Martin; and special friends, Allen and Debbie Myers, Lil and Ted Myers, Pat Nuzum and Raymond Mercer.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carmen Gail Hayes.

Helen C. Miller, 79, of R.D. 1, Dilliner, (Newtown) Pa., died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Cherry Tree Nursing Home, Uniontown, Pa.
She was born May 6, 1922, at Walnut Hill, Dilliner, daughter of the late Fred and Oma Pennington Lewis.
She was a member of Worldwide Church of God in Mount Pleasant, where she served as deaconess.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gordon W. Miller, whom she married June 4, 1938; two sons, William Miller, of Pittsburgh, and David Miller, of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Rose Edna Riggen and Joyce Trippet, both of North Carolina.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Frederick Miller, in 1964; a grandson; a brother, Fred Lewis; and a sister, Nell Hollar.

Harry Eugene Gatian
Harry Eugene Gatian, 94, formerly of Lake Lynn, Over Cheat, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Windy Hill Manor Nursing Home in Kingwood.
He was born May 31, 1907, in Barrackville, son of the late James F. and Ropha L. Gatian.
He was a member of Cheat Lake Methodist Church, and was a former member of Spruce Street United Methodist Church. He was formerly employed as a coal miner with Kelly Creek Coal Co., and was retired from West Virginia University as a building and groundskeeper. He was also a member of the IOOF No. 10 for more than 50 years, and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He is survived by three stepsons and spouses, Delbert and E. Alene Bowers, Coleman and Hilda S. Bowers, all of Morgantown, and Oakey J. and Doris J. Bowers, of Bridgeport; a sister, Marie Darnell, of Morgantown; eight grandchildren, Vivian Ramsey, Rita Sadler, Evon Womack, Neal Gatian, Niles Gatian, all of Long Beach, Miss., Brenda Thompson, of Collierville, Tenn., Nick Gatian, of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Kit Jackson, of Edgewood, Wash.; 10 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Terri Gatian, of Long Beach.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Adams Gatian; his second wife, Edna Myers Bowers Gatian; and a son, Eugene Gatian.

Tommy Joe Richendollar
Tommy Joe Richendollar, 60, of Overhill Road, Fairmont, died Tuesday, July 26, 2001, at Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 6, 1941, in Huntington, son of the late Edwin and Treva Austin Richendollar.
He was employed at W.Va. Department of Human Resource. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed playing and singing country music and working with computers. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Men Society and the Friendship Sunday school class. He was also a member of the Sharing and Caring group, and for several years was the owner of his own business, Rich-N-Vision.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Morton Richendollar; two daughters, Tracie Richendollar and Rebecca Richendollar, of Atlanta; and a brother and spouse, Larry and Judy Richendollar, of Huntington.

Barbara Ellen Floyd, 77, of Benton's Ferry community, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, in Monongah.
She was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Rivesville, daughter of the late Barney Allen and Cora Ellen Wheeler Stewart.
She was a homemaker and mother. She was affiliated with the Victory Baptist Church in Fairmont. She was also a member of the VFW auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons and a spouse, Kenneth Edward and Charlotte Ashby, of Monongah, Leslie Elwood Ashby, of Cleveland, and Arlie J. Ashby, of Petersburg; a daughter and spouse, Loucinda and Robert Closson, of Fairmont; two sisters, Wanetta Musgrave, of Carolina, and Mary Furbee, of Fairmont; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Harvey A. "Junior" Floyd, on Feb. 25, 2000; and two sisters, Katherine Kisner, and Delores McCoy.

M. Ellen Johnson McNeill, 65, of Washington, D.C., died Friday, June 22, 2001.
She was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Charles Johnson Sr. and Emma Finley Johnson.
She was a seamstress and self-employed dressmaker and tailor. She was a former member of St. Stephen Baptist Church in Shriver before moving to Washington, D.C. She was educated in the public schools of Monongalia County, completing her public education in 1954, which was the last class to graduate from the old Monongalia High School.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. McNeill, whom she married May 2, 1959; two sons and spouses, Robert A. McNeill Jr. and Debra McNeill, and James R. and Devone McNeill, all of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Virginia Turner, Norma Williams and Mary Banks; and three grandchildren.

Lucy Pearl Litton, 96, of Route 4, Lucas Dairy Road, Grafton, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at Grafton City Hospital.
She was born Nov. 2, 1904, in Grafton, daughter of the late John E. and Mollie Reese Seargeant.
She was beloved by all her family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening. She was Methodist, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by two children and a spouse, Edward and Naomi Litton, of Barberton, Ohio, and Gloria Lucas, of Grafton; three grandchildren, Kevin Litton, Carol Sue Litton and Shelda Everson, all of Barberton; six great-grandchildren, Holly Everson, Jason Litton, Kevin Litton II, Heather Litton, Danielle Litton and Kyra Litton; and three great-great-grandchildren, Toni, Payton and MacKenzie.
