Ruth R. Landahl, 92, of Morgantown, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at MonPointe Continuing Care Center, Morgantown.
She was born Oct. 3, 1909, in Wheeling, daughter of the late Arthur and Pearl Barrett Riddle.
She was Methodist.
She is survived by a daughter and spouse, Nancy and William A. Atwell Jr., of Morgantown; a stepgrandson, William A. Atwell III, of Weehawken, N.J.; a stepgranddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Woods, of Charlotte, N.C.; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Ross and Nathan Woods.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Francis Landahl, in 1992.

Stephen Bialko
Stephen Bialko, 74, of Euclid, Ohio, formerly of Nemacolin, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Euclid Hospital.
He was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Nemacolin, son of the late Frank and Mary Husanyicza Bialko.
He was a 1945 graduate of Cumberland Township High School in Carmichaels, Pa. and served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of the Consolation Parish in Nemacolin and of St. Christine's Roman Catholic Church in Euclid. He worked at Republic Steel Corp.'s Steel and Tube Division and retired from LTV Steel Corp. in 1992. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Ralko Bialko, whom he married Nov. 29, 1952; a son, Steve Bialko Jr., of Amherst, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christopher S. Bialko and Alexander H. Bialko; a brother, Michael Bialko of Waynesburg, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joesph W. Bialko and Frank A. Bialko Sr.; and two sisters, Mary E. Griesbach and Susan Eustice.
Friends may call at Yoskovich Funeral Home in Carmichaels, Pa., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. A vigil service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, with the Rev. Robert E. Johnson II
Lt. Col. Robert E. Johnson II, U.S. Air Force retired, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001.
He was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Shinnston, son of the late Earl Johnson and "Billie" Davis Johnson.
He earned a bachelor's degree at West Virginia University and a juris doctor degree at the University of Richmond Law School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, was called back to active duty during the Korean War for 20 months, then returned to active duty in the Air Force in 1958 as a judge advocate. He retired from the Air Force as the base staff judge advocate at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia in 1974.
He was an avid golfer and devoted supporter of the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. He received the Silver Beaver Award of Scouting in 1968.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; three sons and spouses, Col. Robert E. III and Rhonda Johnson, Buckner and Michele Johnson, and Douglas Johnson; two daughters and spouses, Drs. Elizabeth and Jeff Neely, and Carolyn and John Urban; 14 grandchildren, Robin and Amy Johnson, Lauren and Grant Neely, John, Ben and Alison Johnson, and John, Ashley, Noah, Elizabeth, Christen, Caroline and David Urban.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with full military honors, with Chaplain Ernie Schoenborn officiating. Lloyd J. 'Ossie' Harford
Lloyd J. "Ossie" Harford, 88, of Morgantown, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in a fall.
He was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Keisterville, Pa., son of the late Charles and Bessie Frost Harford.
A 51-year resident of Morgantown, he retired after 30 years of service with Amoco Oil Co., where he was in charge of building and maintaining Amoco stations in northern West Virginia and western Pennsylvania.
He was a veteran of World War II and fought throughout the European theater, most notably the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne.
He was a member of Suncrest United Methodist Church Drummond Chapel Campus, where he was a member and past president of the United Methodist Men. He was a charter member of the Beau Monde Dance Club and a member of Morgantown Elks Lodge 411.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Haberland Harford; two daughters and spouse, Lynda Hess, of Portland, Mass., and Debra Ann and Gary M. Callen, of Vienna, Va.; four grandchildren, Amy Callen Spruill, Jennifer Hess Gosselin, Kimberly Hess Haskell and Gregory M. Callen, and two great-grandchildren, Lauren Haskell and David Gosselin.

Coleman Lewis Brumley
Coleman Lewis Brumley, 79, of Greensboro, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at the Greater Pittsburgh Nursing Center in Greensburg, Pa.
He was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Weston, son of the late James and Elizabeth Bixby Brumley.
He was a coal miner, a retiree of Duquense Light and a member of the UMW. A veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Purple Heart and was a life member of American Legion Post 400, of Carmichaels, Pa., VFW Post 747, and FOE 1932, both in Point Marion, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Wilson Brumly; two sons, Coleman Brumley Jr., of Greensburg, and Ronald Brumley, of Greensboro; a daughter, Lucy Brumley, of Greensboro; several grandchildren; and a stepson, Jeff Wilson, of Cleveland, Ohio.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Lewis "Skip" Brumley; a daughter, Sally Fiala; and seven brothers and sisters.
Private service will be at Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Friday, Dec. 7. Burial will be in the Little Arlington section of Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion. Military honors will be conducted at graveside.
Donally E. Raber
Donally E. Raber, 69, of Double Adobe, Ariz., died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1932, in Metz, son of Verna Raber Kincaid, of Farmington, and the late Charles Edgar Raber.
He was the first male in his family to graduate from high school. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years as a technical sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he returned to Metz, Campbells Run, with his family. He was employed by the Marion County Board of Education as a school bus driver. He then relocated to Denver, where he became a gunsmith. He then moved to Double Adobe, where he operated his own gunsmith shop. He also worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections for 16 years. He enjoyed a fine cigar, firearms and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Raber, of Double Adobe; three sons and spouses, David and Shirley Raber, of Double Adobe, Daniel Raber, of Montana, and John and Reyna Raber, of Double Adobe; two daughters and spouses, Donna and Vick Beasley, of California, and Alaine and William Taylor, of Double Adobe; a sister, Elizabeth Masters, of Mannington; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Bettie Jane Dressman
Bettie Jane Dressman, 78, of Stewartstown Road, Morgantown, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Morgantown.
She was born Nov. 8, 1923, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Frank Sherman and Ada Watts Hinshaw.
She and her mother owned and operated the Sunnyside Inn on Point Marion Road for 25 years. She was Methodist.
She is survived by a son and spouse, Kenneth W. and Sharon Dressman, of Point Marion Road; and three grandchildren, Kenneth Dressman Jr., Kyle Dressman and Andrew Dressman, all of Point Marion Road.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, John W. Sherman.

Lewis H. Isner
Lewis H. Isner, 59, of Grafton, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Grafton, son of the late Orville Junior and Lillie Murl Haddix Isner.
He was a welder with CSX Railroad. He enjoyed working on antique cars. He was a member of New Testament Fellowship Church.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Victoria Moore Isner, whom he married May 28, 1962; three daughters and a spouse, Karla Isner, of Oak Grove, Joy Dawn Isner, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lori and Stacy Bokey, of Clarksburg; a son, Joseph Isner, of Grafton; three grandsons, Christopher and Michael Pitman, of Grafton, and Tyler Bokey, of Clarksburg; a sister and spouse, Judith and Junior Gillespie, of Buckhannon; and a brother and spouse, Jerold P. and Barbara Isner, of Grafton.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Lee Isner; and a sister, Patsy B. Eschenbaugh.

Marie S. Kennedy, 92, of Manassas, Va., formerly of Nemacolin, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Annaburg Manor Nursing Home, Manassas.
She was born Feb. 8, 1909, in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of the late Calvin C. and Janet McInnes Jaynes.
She worked as a resident manager at Corlaine Gardens Apartments in Falls Church, Va., from 1961 until her retirement in 1993. Prior to that she worked as a waitress. During World War II she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" in military aircraft assembly plants. She was Presbyterian.
She is survived by a son, Bernard G. Kennedy, of Surprise, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Michael Kennedy, Pamela Burckette, Tamara Linski and Kimberly LaMoth; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Leo Calvin "Skippy" Kennedy, in infancy; two brothers, Sifton Jaynes and Ronald Jaynes; and two sisters, Anna Connor and Janet Jaynes.

Helen M. Boord, 98, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa.
She was born June 11, 1903, in Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pa., daughter of the late Edward Theodore and Rosa Arizona Donham Mundell.
She lived in St. Petersburg, Fla., for 11 years before returning to Carmichaels in 1985. She had lived in the Carmichaels area most of her life. She was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church since 1917, Carmichaels Grange No. 1389 since 1947, and Greene County Pomona Grange No. 63.
She is survived by a son and spouse, Edward R. and Evelyn Boord of Carmichaels; a daughter and spouse, Virginia and Harry Schiffbauer of Carmichaels, with whom she made her home; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Russell Boord, on Dec. 2, 1986; two daughters, Betty Rose Boord, in childhood, and Marjorie Lutes Tabor; a son, James A. Boord; a grandson, Scott Edward Boord; a brother, Clyde S. Mundell; and a sister, Grace A. Davies.

Mary Easter Carr
Mary Easter Carr, of Bailey Circle in Fairmont, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001 at Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born in 1913 in Wetzel County, daughter of the late John William and Margaret Ellen Morris LeMasters.
She worked at Frances Shop and retired from Hartley's Department Store. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairmont, where she was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and Sunshine Committee. She was also a member of the Fairmont Women's Club and a volunteer at the Hospice of Marion County, along with the Helping Hand Store and local Food Pantry.
She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Harry L. and Marilyn Carr of Detroit, and Herold E. and Marilyn Carr Jr., of Cambridge, Md.; a daughter and spouse, Carolyn Sue and Thomas McLeary, of Fairmont; seven grandchildren, Christal Stanbourgh, Janet Thomas, Ken Carr, Jennifer Wallman, Tammy Vasco, Ron and Robin Carr; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, John LeMasters, of Hundred, and Charles LeMasters of Port St. Lucie, Fla.

He was born April 19, 1924, in Core, son of the late Minor Ray and Sara Baysinger Pyle.
He is survived by his wife, Lulu M. Core Pyle; a son, Stephen W. Pyle, of Waynesboro, Pa.; a daughter, Lois Marie Scott, of Mifflintown, Pa.; two sisters, Thelma Guseman, of Smithfield, Pa., and Ethel Layton, of Core; his former wife, Clara Pyle, of Frankfort, Del.; and six grandchildren, David, Jonathon, and Stephanie Pyle, and Mandy, Mindy, and Misty Scott.

William A. "Sunny" Metz, 65, of Hundred, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Mobley, son of the late William E. and Anna Belle Myers Metz.
He worked at different jobs throughout his life. He last worked in the oil and gas industry.
He is survived by a daughter and spouse, Amy and Mike Bragg, of Hundred; three sons and spouses, Gerald and Sherry Metz, and David and Gina Metz, all of Burton, and Tom and Chesa Metz, of Kenton, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Cumberledge and Helen Patterson, both of Hundred; five brothers, Robert Metz, of Paden City, Leon Metz, Ray Metz, Jack Metz, and Albert Metz, all of Pentress; and five grandchildren, Savannah Bragg, Wyatt, Emily, Hannah, and Tommy Metz Jr.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Gaye Parker Metz; a sister, Cecile Metz; and two brothers, Charles and David Metz.

Sylvia Marie Ramsey, 75, of Enterprise, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at home after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 13, 1927, at Lumberport, daughter of the late Carl and Vonnie Davis Shreves.
She was a homemaker and Protestant.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Ramsey, whom she married Dec. 24, 1942; three sons, Dennis Ramsey, of St. Louis, Donald Ramsey, of Enterprise, and Chad Ramsey, of Core; two daughters, Nancy Bise, of Morgantown and Cathy Nutter, of Washington, and a brother, Fredrick Shreves, of Frances Mines.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margerete McIntire.

Frank Anthony Zannino
Frank Anthony Zannino, 84, of 258 Ocala St., Clarksburg, died Sunday morning, Dec. 9, at United Hospital Center.
He was born July 14, 1917, in Clarksburg, son of the late Rocco and Sophia Zannino.
He retired from Jerry Run Glass after 35 years. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Marconi Lodge, Sons of Italy, VFW and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of Clearlite Softball Team.
He is survived by his wife, Stella Theresa Pandora Zannino; a daughter, Linda Diane Brinkley, of Bridgeport; two sons, Rockey Zannino, of Quiet Dell, and David Anthony Zannino, of Clarksburg; two sisters, Mary Dosier, and Angeline Crites, both of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Heather, Brian, Elyssa, Devann, and Alexis Zannino, and Tiffany and Ashley Brinkley; two great-grandchildren, Holden Fraser and Bryce Zannino.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Pat, Sam, and Ralph Zannino.

Alberta Tennant Yost
Alberta Gail "Granny Grunt" Tennant Yost, 79, of Jakes Run, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown.
She was born April 16, 1922, in Jakes Run, daughter of the late Lemley Chuck and Gladys Moore Tennant.
She was a member of Jakes Run Assembly of God Church, and was an active member of the resident council and participated in all activities and trips at Sundale Nursing Home. She was a housewife.
She is survived by two sons, Victor Yost, of New Martinsville, and Vincent "Pete" Yost, of Farmington; four daughters, Vonda "Sis" Harrell, of Calvert City, Ken., Vanetta "Snooks" Statler, and Vada Kay Eddy, both of Jakes Run, and Vanessa "Ness" Eddy, of Daybrook; three brothers, Marvin Dale Tennant, of Jakes Run, Carl Tennant, of Cleveland, and Jack Tennant, of Tulsa, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lesse Arnel Yost, on April 5, 1993; four sons, Virgil, Vernon "Gene", Vaughn, and Verl Lee; and a great-grandson, Christian Wesley Chaffins.

Howard 'Mutt' Frazier
Howard "Mutt" Frazier, 84, died Friday, at Village of Westerville, Westerville, Ohio.
He graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's of science degree in education. He taught math and science at Johnson Park Junior High, Columbus, Ohio. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an active member of the Eastview United Methodist Church choir, and a member of the Willow Run Golf Club, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus & Noble Aladdin Shrine, and 50 year member of F&AM Newburg, WV. He was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria Frazier; a son and spouse, Howard W. "Bill" and Cheryl Frazier Jr., of Westerville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Nicholas Frazier and Christine Frazier; a brother and spouse, Richard G. and Geri Frazier, of Kingwood; a sister-in-law, Jenny Frazier, of Newburg; and two brothers-in-law and spouses, C.E. "Bill" and Barbara Leeson, of Westerville, Ohio, and John Edward and Carol Leeson, of Hixson, Tenn.
The service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio, with the Rev. Hughey L. Jones officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood.
Mary Blosser Bertie
Mary Elizabeth Blosser Bertie, 87, of Morgantown, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
She was born Dec. 17, 1914, in New Castle, Pa., daughter of the late William Elmer and Nellie Zearley Blosser.
She moved to Morgantown at an early age and was educated in the Morgantown public schools, including Morgantown Junior High and Morgantown High School. She attended WVU for one year and Fairmont State College until her father became ill. She then returned to Morgantown to help her mother manage the family business, The Blosser Furniture Co. Before World War II she worked as a Prudential Life Insurance agent and following the war returned to work at the Blosser Furniture Company. Later, she worked as an account clerk for the City of Morgantown, and as an instructor for the Morgantown Senior Center. After retirement she worked voter registrations and elections, and as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Morgantown Senior Center. She was a member of Spruce Street United Methodist Church and various church organizations.
She is survived by her husband, John Andrew Bertie; two nephews, Robert F. Kennedy, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Larry Bertie, of South Point, Ohio; a niece, Sharron Graham, of Morgantown; three sisters, Martha Belle Becilla, of Morgantown, Barbara Jean Bailey, of St. Albans, and Betty Jo O'Hara, of Tucson, Ariz.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dave Edward Blosser.

Tony Ray Hoover
Tony Ray Hoover, 37, of Morgantown, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Preston Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 3, 1964, in Morgantown, son of Albert Lee Hoover, of Albright, and the late Shirley Ann McNear Hoover.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an outdoors enthusiast who liked to hunt and fish.
He is also survived by his wife of 10 years, Bonnie Hoover; a daughter, Bobbie Riffle, of Buckhannon; a brother and spouse, David and Kim Hoover, of Beach Run; four sisters and spouses, Stella Darlene and Dave Shaffer, of Beach Run, Debbie and Marvin Feather, of Valley Point, Lisa and Charles Miller, of Albright, and Katina and Jerry Parker, of Morgantown; and three grandchildren, Thunder Hogan, Kursten Hogan and Robert Christopher Shaffer.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Steven Hoover and Randy Hoover; and a sister, Brenda Braham.
Friends may call at James G. Lobb Funeral Home in Kingwood from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from noon Monday, Dec. 10, until the 1 p.m. service with the Rev. Mary Conley officiating. Burial will be in Beach Run Cemetery.

Mary "Granny" Pauline Longanecker, 91, formerly of High Street, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at her home in Carmichaels, Pa., after a long illness.
Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, and from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, until the 11 a.m. service, with the Rev. Damon Nicholson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, on Goshen Road.
