Patricia A. Neese Campbell, of Anaheim, Calif., formerly of Morgantown, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at home. She was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Morgantown, daughter of the late Paul and Helen Cronin Neese. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Anaheim. She was a graduate of St. Francis DeSales and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Clarksburg. She is survived by two sons, Daniel and Kevin, both of Anaheim; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild; three sisters, Sara James, of Columbus, Ohio, Naomi Neely, of Morgantown, and Dolores Curth, with whom she made her home; three brothers, Edward, of Fairmont, Thomas, of Morgantown, and Paul, of Jefferson, Ga. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; a sister, Mary and three brothers, George, Charles and William Gerald. Service will be at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Anaheim, Monday. Burial will follow in Brea, Calif.

Arthur Spacht
Word has been received of the death of Arthur Merle "Bo" Spacht, 81, of Palo Alto, Calif., and formerly of Morgantown, on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, in Palo Alto. He was born Jan. 24, 1920, at Cheat Neck, son of the late John and Lena Beverage Spacht. He is survived by two sons, Gary Spacht and Bobby Spacht, both of California; two sisters, Isabell Davis, of Morgantown, and Janet Gillespie, of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Spacht; three sisters and three brothers. Cremation and memorial services will be in California.

She is survived by three daughters and spouses, Lisa and David F. Lucas II, of Grafton, Carol and Peter W. Damico, of Fairmont, and Maronee Gail Jones, of Fairmont; two grandsons, Adam F. Lucas, of Grafton, and David E. Campbell, of Fairmont; three sisters and a spouse, Valerie and Richard Hayes, of Mannington, Thelma Knight, of Mannington, and Verneda King, of Tucson, Ariz.; and a brother, Virgil Toothman, of Fairview. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill David Jones, on July 4, 2000; a sister, Loretta Conners; and a brother, Darold Toothman. At her request there will be no funeral home visitation. Delores K. Hyre
Delores K. Hyre, 80, of Morgantown, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Carol Hastings. She was born June 10, 1921, in Millsboro, Pa., daughter of the late James L. and Estella M. Crayne. She was Methodist. She retired from West Virginia University Hospital in 1988. She was a member of VFW Post 9916 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by three daughters and spouses, Carol and Robert Hastings, Rebecca and Terry Snider, all of Morgantown, and Jennie and David Walker, of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; a granddaughter, Lesley Walker; six grandsons, Michael Ammons, Gregory Smith, Timothy and Scott Snider, and Robert and Timothy Hastings; four great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Hyre, in 1968; and a great-granddaughter. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Lawnwood Cemetery with the Rev. Carmen P. Keiser
Carmen P. Keiser, 89, of Paden City, who lived most of her life in Point Marion, Pa., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in Sistersville General Hospital. She was born Dec. 10, 1912, in Point Marion, daughter of the late Edgar Panier and Martha Mesureur Panier Roston. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Point Marion, and sang in the church choir for more than 60 years. She served as church deaconess, was a member of Ladies Missionary Society, Anti-Can't Sunday School Class, and sang alto in Ladies Trio. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jesse C. Keiser, whom she married July 5, 1930; a daughter, Jacqueline Keiser Woolwine, of Sistersville; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Moore and Tracy Moore Summers; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Panier Jr.; and a sister, Lydia Capp. Friends may call at Richard R. Andy Kovach
Andy Kovach, 86, of Morgantown, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 18, 1914, in Hungary, son of the late Andrew and Julia Kovach. He was a retired teacher and principal. He taught biology in the Monongalia and Preston County school systems. He also owned and managed an apartment building in Westover. He was active in the WesMon Little League and Babe Ruth League for many years. He graduated from St. Francis High School and received undergradate and graduate degrees from West Virginia University. He is survived by two sons and a spouse, Dr. Rodney Kovach, of Morgantown, and Vaugh and Judy Kovach, of Palmyra, Pa.; a daughter and spouse, Dr. Sandra and Dr. Alex Sabo, of Parkersburg; four grandchildren...missing...the Rev. Carl D. Tacy Sr.
Carl D. Tacy Sr., 71, of Weston, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg. He was born on May 23, 1930, son of the late Charles Tacy and Bessie Riggleman Tacy. He was self-employed and Protestant. He is survived by a son, Cary D. Tacy Jr., of Independence; a daughter and spouse, Cynthia and Charles Pinkerman, of Catlettsburg, Ky.; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Cecil Tacy, of Jackson, Ohio. Clifford Eugene Moore
Clifford Eugene Moore, 68, of Mannington, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born July 13, 1933, in Rachel, son of Lena Louise Covey Moore, of Mannington, and the late Harry Ashford Moore. He retired with 31 years of service as a Procter and Gamble sales representative. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Mannington Church of the Nazarene and the Mar-Win Church of the Nazarene in Wheeling. He was a member of the Gideons. He is survived by his wife, Linda Goldberg Moore; four daughters and spouses, Debi and Wayne Christopher, of Pittsburgh, Becky and Mike Parrish, of Rachel, Kim and Gerald Heater, of Fairmont, and Anita Moore, of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons and spouses, Mark and Brenda Moore, of Monongah, and Clifford Jr. and Eda Moore, of Nashville; six grandchildren, Kyle Heater, Kalob Heater, Bryan Moore, Bethany Moore, Micah Parrish and Leah Parrish; three brothers, Thomas J. Tressa 'Lizzie' Koval
Tressa "Lizzie" Elizabeth Koval, 92, of Fairmont, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Wishing Well Health Center in Fairmont. She was born July 19, 1909, in Marion County, daughter of the late George Ribic and Anna Bestin Ribic Halko. She was a homemaker. She is survived by a sister, Katherine Kucsera, of Fairmont; three grandchildren and spouses, William Michael and Barbara Koval, of Florida, Richard Dean and Linda Koval, of Bruceton Mills, and Barbara and Ron Kopanko, of Preston County; and seven great-grandchildren, Leah, Kelly, Judy, Jeremy Dean, Brian, Justin and Karen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Dude" Koval Sr. in 1965; a son, William Koval Jr. in 1984; three sisters, Mary Yelcich, Helen Chase and Anna Cerepanya; and five brothers, Johnny Ribic, Steve Ribic, Joe Ribic, Mike Halko and Andy Halko. Peter G. Comuntzis
Peter G. Comuntzis, of Morgantown, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Madison Rehabilitation Center. He was born Dec. 27, 1911, in Morgantown, son of the late George and Angeline Caravasos Comuntzis. He graduated from WVU Law School in 1939 and was a member of the West Virginia Bar Association. He served in the U.S. Navy as a second lieutenant during World War II. With his brother, Gus, he owned and operated Comuntzis Restaurant and the Metropolitan Theater. He was a member of the Morgantown Touchdown Club and was active in promoting West Virginia University athletics. He was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Victoria Chirigos Comuntzis; two daughters, Annette Houser, of Pittsburgh, and Georgette Page, of Urbana, Ill.; a brother and spouse, Gus and Dorothy Comuntzis; four grandchildren, Vanessa, Kristin, Sara and Joseph. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Marcus Comuntzis; and a sister, Trula Capps. Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Mary Martino Yoquinto, 93, of Clarksburg, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at home. She was born March 20, 1908, at Cook Mine, Harrison County, daughter of the late Frank and Rose Guarascio Martino. She was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg. She is survived by two daughters and a spouse, Helen Yoquinto and Mary Ann and Richard Lamb, all of Clarksburg; two brothers and a spouse, Larry Martino, and David and Margaret Martino, all of Clarksburg; a sister and spouse, Josephine and Joe Rogers, of Clarksburg; a sister-in-law, Ann Martino; 10 nieces and 12 nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Yoquinto; a sister, Lena Patsy; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Martino and Julie Martino. Friends may call at Bartolo Funeral Home, 515 W. Margaret Louise Haller
Margaret Louise Haller, 81, of Morgantown, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Slaty Fork, daughter of the late Samuel and Maude Shelton Painter. She was an active member of the Morgantown business community, running multiple local establishments. She also worked for Mylan Pharmaceuticals for 17 years until the time of her retirement. She volunteered at Monongalia General Hospital and was a member of Brookhaven United Methodist Church. She is survived by four sons and a spouse, Eugene "Huck" Haller, at home, Jennings Joe and Suzanne Haller, of Fairmont, William Haller, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Keith Haller, of Morgantown; a daughter, Betty Kaye Buchanan, of Morgantown; nine grandchildren, Joe, Bruce, Stephen, Robert and Joey Haller, Donna Mohr, Tammy Jarvis, Jennifer Holley, Brandy Buchanan; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Lee Cutlip; and friends Bill, Holly, Alex, Elizabeth Mattingly, Marty Kerr and Bobbi Neal. Olive Metz Bean
Olive Metz Bean, 97, of Metz community, Mannington, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at home. She was born Dec. 31, 1903, in a log house on the family farm at Metz, daughter of the late Prince Metz and Maude Holbert Metz Horner. She graduated from Mannington High School in 1922, and was a 1933 nursing school graduate of the former Cook Hospital in Fairmont. She was postmaster of the Wadestown Post Office from 1953-73. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and visiting with friends on her front porch. She was a member of West Warren Baptist Church at Wadestown and also attended services at First Century Church, Metz. She is survived by three sons and a spouse, Jesse Lee Bean Jr., of Metz, Joseph C. and Alice J. Bean, of Fairmont, and Samuel E. Bean, of Metz; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Tennant, of Metz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Bean Sr., on May 7, 1978; a sister, Opal Leone "Tude" McMunn Tate; two brothers, Samuel Tazwell Horner and Virgil Martin Horner; and her stepfather, Jasper Horner. Henry Encil Shriver
Henry Encil Kuhn Shriver, 89, of Miracle Run community, Monongalia County, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at home. He was born May 7, 1912, at Miracle Run, son of the late Abe and Mary Ellen Lemley Shriver. He worked the family farm and lived all his life in the house in which he was born. He was also a coal miner and construction worker. He was Baptist. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He is survived by a son and spouse, Richard and Rhonda Yoho, of Miracle Run; a daughter and spouse, Sandra and Joe Tuttle, of Miracle Run; a brother, Presley Shriver, of Fairmont; six grandchildren, Jason Shriver, Greg Shriver, Gordon Shriver, Luke Shriver, Missy Tuttle Henard and Dwight Tuttle; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Straight Shriver, on Sept. 14, 1982; and two sisters, Jean Yergovich and Esta Wyman. Ann J. Nairn McGinity, 84, of South Point, Ohio, formerly of Star City, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001. She was born July 17, 1917, in Edenborn, Pa., daughter of the late William S. and Valentina Bottman Nairn. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Star City. She was a loving wife and homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Women's Club, an auxiliary member of the Star City Volunteer Fire Department and the Women's Elk Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Denis C. McGinity; a son, Denis McGinity Jr., of Alvin, Texas; four daughters, Kathleen J. Maynard, of Huntington, Rita Ellen Vance, of South Point, Ohio, Ethel M. Mudd, of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Eileen A. Henry Kuhn Shriver
Henry Encil Kuhn Shriver, 89, of Miracle Run, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at home. He was born May 7, 1912, in Miracle Run, son of the late Abe and Mary Ellen Lemley Shriver. He lived and died in the family farm house where he was born. He had worked as a coal miner and a construction worker in the coal mines and was a lifelong farmer. He was Baptist and a member of the UMWA. He is survived by a son and spouse, Richard and Rhonda Yoho Shriver, of Miracle Run; a daughter and spouse, Sandra and Joe Tuttle, of Miracle Run; a brother, Presley Shriver, of Fairmont; six grandchildren, Jason Shriver, of Blacksville, Greg, Gordon and Luke Shriver, and Missy Tuttle Henard, all of Miracle Run, and Dwight Tuttle, of Hundred; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandon, Chelsea and Timothy Shriver, and Becky Price. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Straight Shriver; and two sisters, Jean Yergovich and Esta Wyman. Service will be at Owen-Neely Funeral Home at 11 a.m. today, with the Rev. David Lancaster officiating. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.
