Sharon Lynn Morgan, 47, of Iaeger, WV, passed away Sunday January 27, 2008 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division in Charleston, WV. She was born January 24, 1961 in Welch, WV a daughter of Delores J. Toler Godfrey of Crouches Farm, WV and Hobert N. Morgan of Arafat, NC.
She was a homemaker. Survivors also include two sons Waylon James Godfrey and Josh Ryan Price; two brothers Gary Lee Morgan and Richard Eugene Morgan; a grandson Wesley James Godfrey; special friends Kenneth Stanley, Alfred Robinette and Susan Kelly; several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and friends. Bonnie Bethel Stewart Davis, 81, of Kopperston, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 22, 2008 at CAMC General Division, Charleston, WV. Bethel was born July 5, 1926 at Jesse, WV, a daughter of the late Herndon P. and Hattie Bailey Stewart. She was a loving wife and homemaker and a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church for 30 years. She also worked at the Koppers Company Store for about 10 years. Her loving husband James T. "Jim" Davis and beloved daughter Bonnie Davis also preceded her in death along with five sisters Juanita Toler, Lana Halstead, Areta Toler, Mary Lou Hester and Arbeella Sizemore and three brothers Herndon Stewart, Jr., Rufus Stewart and Robert Stewart. Survivors include two brothers Clavert Stewart and wife Gail of Matheny, WV and Frank Stewart of Ravencliff, WV; three sisters Peggy Toler and husband Earl of Glen Fork, WV, Wanda Grindstaff and husband Kenny of Wilmington, IL and Mary Kay Dishmon of Bardwell, KY; along with several nieces and nephews including a special niece Patricia Morris of Newport News, VA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday January 25, 2008 at the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Jackie Grimmett and Minister Stollie Parsons officiating. Gregory Dean "Greg" Stafford, 38, of Oceana, WV, passed away Thursday January 10, 2008 at his home. Greg was born on November 23, 1969 in Mullens, WV a son of Bobby Joe and Kathy Meade Stafford of Sophia formerly of Oceana, WV. Greg was a coal truck driver. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents George and Agatha Chandler Stafford and maternal grandparents Ray and Wanda Estepp Meade. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother Timmy Ray Stafford and wife Emily of Richmond, VA; his companion Audrey Belcher and her children Aundie Acord and Mary Kay Belcher of Oceana, WV; a special friend Clinton Gibson; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday January 14, 2008 at the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home in Lynco, with Pastor Curtis Stafford and Rev. David Stafford officiating. Edward Huling "Ed" Lester, 68, of Oceana, WV, passed away Thursday January 3, 2008 at the Beckley VAMC. He was born June 9, 1939 in Pineville, WV, a son of the late Troy and Hazel Bailey Lester. Ed was a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer, a retired coal miner and a U.S. Army Veteran. His sister Goldie Spratt also preceded him in death. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 46 years Maggie Hendricks Lester; two sons Erby Lester and wife Donna of Oceana, WV and Troy Dale Lester and companion Crystal Miller of California, MD; four sisters nancy Mullins and husband Thomas of Beckley, WV, Wanda Redden and husband Ronnie of Bolt, WV, Faye Belcher and husband Richard of Little Creek, WV and Ernestine Trent and husband Darrell of IL; a brother Wilson Lester and wife Donna of Huff Creek, WV; four grandchildren Edward Dale Lester, Autumn Taylor Lester, Kristopher Blake Lester and Kaitlyn Brooke Lester; three step-grandchildren Traevon Miller, Joseph Varela and Emma Miller; best friends Roger and Sharon Blankenship and a host of other loving family and friends. Shelby Gene Roberts, 69, of Oceana, WV went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 6, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital. He was born August 13, 1938 in Wyoming County, West Virgina, a son of the late Troy and Nannie Nease Roberts. Shelby was a retired welder and graduate of Baileysville High School. He was also preceded in death by a brother Sim Roberts, two sisters Margaret Brooks and Sarah Cook and a step daughter Kimberly Hicks. Keith Harold Cline, 96, of Lynco, WV passed away on Thursday November 15, 2007 at Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Richmond, WV. He was born July 17, 1911, at Baileysville, WV, a son of the late Johnny Cline and Maggie Shannon Cline. Mr. Cline was a retiree of Ashland Exploration in Brenton, WV, where he worked for 28 years. Keith was an avid fisherman and loved going fishing with his family members. He was also preceded in death by a brother Cudge Cline, a sister Ivy Conley and a great granddaughter Megan Goodman. Donald Lee Davis, 61, of North Spring, WV, passed away Thursday November 22, 2007 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1946 in North Spring, WV, a son of the late Marvin Vernon and Liddie Trent Davis.
Donald was a member of the Little Cub Baptist Church and a retired electrician from Kelsey Hayes Auto Manufacturing. His brother Harold Ray Davis also preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife Cheryl Ann Brown Davis; two daughters Schaine Carter and husband Brian of North Carolina and Destiny Davis of North Spring, WV; a son Donald Lee Davis, Jr. and wife Amandaof Man, WV; two sisters Hazel Morgan and husband Ronald of North Spring, WV and Delzie Peck and husband Kenny of Springfield, OH; two brothers Gorman Davis and wife LaShon of Tennessee and Linus Davis and wife Brenda of North Spring, WV; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and friends. Elvira Louise "Babe" Toler, of Reedy Creek, WV. On Saturday October 20, 2007 Babe departed this life to become an Angel in Heaven, at the age of 77, due to complications from a stroke. She was born May 12, 1930 to the late Walter Harmon and Zelia Margaret Bailey Morgan in Logan County, WV. She was a member of the Apostolic House of Faith in Long Branch, WV and was dearly loved by all who knew her. Babe loved stringing beans canning and spending time with the babies. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers A. R., Teddy Ray and Ott Morgan and a step grand daughter Megan Goodman. Survivors include her husband of 57 years Ray Toler, her soulmate and the love of her life; two sons Rayvon Toler and wife Betty and Stacy Lee Toler; a daughter Rita Goodman and husband Elmer; four sisters Ethel Kennedy, Leona Carter, Polly Jones and husband Grant and Adelene Adams and husband Nolan; three brothers Frank "Doe" Morgan and wife Jean, Clarence Morgan and Jackie Morgan and wife Bonnie; three grandchildren Brian Keith Toler, Heather Morgan and husband Chris, Tina Kenneda and husband Darrick and their mother Della Toler; a step grand daughter Ashley Goodman; three great grandchildren Megan and Cameron Morgan and Kyler Kenneda; a brother-in-law Keith Toler; a sister-in-law Katherine Hatfield and husband Roger; along with a large host of other close friends and family.

She was born May 5, 1965 in Arlington, VA, the daughter of the late Norman Woods and Mary Cook Woods of Glen Fork, WV. Karen was a homemaker, a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer and a 1983 graduate of Oceana High School. Her grandfather James Remley Cook also preceded her in death along with her father-in-law Lee Massey and a special friend Tennis Hatfield. Jim was born June 2, 1927 at Price Hill, WV a son of the late Otis Garrett and Nora Kincaid Davis. Jim was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church for 30 years, a 64 year member of the U.M.W.A. Local 7604 having served for 14 years as the D.E.B. Board Member and was a WW II Army Veteran. His beloved daughter Bonnie Davis also preceded him in death along with four sisters Julia Johnson, Margarett Davis, Gail Hammons and Kathlene Walters and two brothers William Davis and Joseph Davis. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years Bethel Stewart Davis; five sisters Emma Wilson, Frieda Corney, Phyllis Kelly, Karen Henry and Patty Fields; three brothers Richard Davis, Roy Davis and Larry Davis; and a host of other loving family and friends. She was born July 3, 1940 in Abney, WV, the daughter of the late Cecil Cochran and the late Dorthy East Cochran Hoover. Jean was a retired telemarketer and a member of the Deliah Methodist Church and attended the Four Square Vision Church in Mt. Holly, NC. Her brother Belferd Cochran also preceded her in death. Boyd Prichard, Jr., 57, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 30, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 26, 1950 at Kopperston, WV, a son of the late Boyd and Gracie Prichard. He was the owner of Boyd's Fencing and loved collecting antiques, gardening, hunting and fishing, but nothing compared to his love for spending time with his grandchildren and other family and friends. Along with his parents, his sister Mary Alice Pelphrey and a brother-in-law Connie Blankenship also preceded him in death. James Dwight "Jim" Strickland, 50, of Rockview, WV, passed away Sunday October 7, 2007 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born March 26, 1957 in Welch, WV, a son of the late Everette and Norma Jean Elkins Strickland.
He was a disabled coal miner having worked at U.S. Steel's Pinnacle Mines and loved bowling, hunting and fishing. His grandparents Roy and Nina Elkins, Everette Strickland and Sally Teel also preceded him in death.
