Susan Carol Ackelson, 48 of Pineville passed away Friday
February 26, 2010. She was the daughter of Charles A. Cline
Sr. and Pauline Maynard Cline. She was born October 15
1961. She was a homemaker and dedicated to her mother and
Harley Cline. She was preceded in death by her grandparents
Russell and Ollie Maynard and Emery and Iris Cline. She is
also survived by two children Mindy and Randall Ackelson Jr.;
seven grandchildren Marissa, John Austin, Matthew, Kendra,
Kasey, Ashley, and Alexus; four sisters Lawonne & Rodney
Hatfield of Clear Fork, Cathy & Paul Cook of Pineville, Donna
& Steve Acord Of Holly Hills, and Paula and Johnny Mullins of
Riverside Rest, WV; two brothers Charles A. Cline Jr. &
girlfriend Carrie of Pineville and Michael & Darlene Cline of
Brenton; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles,
family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM

Kopperston Community cemetery. Friends may gather

Deloras Lois Steele Bailey, 45, of Panther, WV passed away on Sunday February 28,
2010 at her home. She was born December 26, 1964 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late
Elisha and Jeraldine Roberts Steele of Horse Creek, WV. She was a loving mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death
by her parents, a husband Patrick Bailey, a brother Donald “Don” Steele and two nephews
Jamie Don Steele and Kevin Lee Steele. Left to cherish her memories are three children
James Aubry Bailey and wife Brittnei of Panther, WV, Stephanie Lynn Bailey of Philippi,
WV and Patrick Romanuel Bailey of the home; a grandchild Abigail “Abby” Bailey, who she
loved so much; three brothers Elmer (Jean) Steele of Panther, WV, Delmas ( Regina)
Steele of Monroe, WV and Larry Lawson (Mary) Steele of Panther, WV; six sisters Eloise
(Punkin) Johnson of Panther, WV, Helen (Donald) Roberts of Iaeger, WV, Marie (Riley)
Roberts of Iaeger, WV, Maxie (Thurman) Justice of Panther, WV, Joan (Bill) Justice of
Panther, WV and Donna (Lewis) Kennedy of Paynesville, WV; many nieces and nephews
who will miss her; a special friend Todd Hinson; and a host of other loving family and

Church of Christ on Coon Branch Mountain, Iaeger, WV. Preachers Lewis Kennedy,
Robert Steele and Ollie Bishop will officiate. She will be laid to rest in McCoy cemetery on

Ralph Russell, 76, of Matheny, WV passed away on Saturday February 27, 2010 at his
home. He was born June 28, 1933 in Olive Hill, KY a son of the late Roy and Olive
Greenhill Russell. He was a veteran of the US Army and the West Virginia Army National
Guard. He was a store manager for Buddy’s Discount Stores for many years and worked in
the coal mines for the last eighteen years before retirement. He is the husband of Lois
Stewart Russell. Ralph’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be no visitation or funeral

Sherwood Ernest Perry, 82, of Sun Hill, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, February 25,
2010, in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
He was born June 1, 1927, in Davin, W.Va., a son of the late Marshall Hayes Perry and
Inez Christian Perry. As a young man, he proudly served in the U.S. Army and Air Force for
six years; after his release he became a construction worker and worked until 1986 when
he retired. He loved gardening, fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by his two brothers, Orville Harold Perry and Walter Levon Perry. Those
left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Edra Morgan Perry of Sun Hill, W.Va.;
his daughter Dianna Hall of Sun Hill, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Sgt. Nathan Hall of Fort
Drum, N.Y., Lauren Hall of Huntington, W.Va., Lucas and Amber Minor both of Sun Hill,
W.Va.; four great-grandchildren; his stepmother Rosie Perry who was like a second mother
to him; his brothers Bill Perry and wife Bobbi of Cyclone, W.Va., and Jim Perry and wife
Rita of Ripley, W.Va.; sisters Betty Miller of Cleveland, Ohio, Judy Walls of Florida,
Darlene Perry of Cyclone, W.Va., Mary Canterbury and husband Frankie of Lynco, W.Va.,
and Sherry Spaulding and husband David of Lynco, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews
whom he loved dearly. He will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 1
p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, W.Va., with Rev. Stephen Walls officiating. He will be laid to rest in Morgan Family
cemetery, Simon, W.Va. Friends may gather with the family from 11 a.m. until service
time at the funeral home. Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military

Billy Lee Wooten, Sr., 82, of Beckley, WV, formerly of Oceana, WV, passed away on Thursday February
18, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, WV. He was born May 20, 1927
at Hensley, WV, a son of the late George and Virginia Stevens Wooten. He served in the US Army during
WW II and was a member of the UMWA. He was a retired coal miner having worked a Amherst Coal
Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Camping and spending time with his family and friends. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Charlene, a brother Darrell Wooten and two infant
sons Denver Lee and Billy Darrell Wooten. Survivors include his wife Emma Anderson Wooten; three sons
Billy Wooten and wife Darlene of Beckley, George Wooten of Oceana and Denver Wooten of Weston; a
daughter Rosie Harper and husband Rex of Weston; three sisters Mary Blankenship and husband Jr. of
Ohio, Shirley Napier and Dawn Schoolcraft of Man and Francese Wingler and husband Freddy of Man;
two sister-in-laws he raised as his own Evelyn Elam and Joyce Vaden both of Elgin, Il; eight grandchildren
and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday February 23, 2010 in the
Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. Billy will be laid to rest in Claypool cemetery,

Ethel Lee “Pete” Morgan Kenneda, 84, of Foundation Fork, Long Branch, WV passed away on
Wednesday February 10, 2010 in Select Specialty Hospital at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, WV. She
was born February 3, 1926 in Mallory, WV, a daughter of the late Walter and Zealy Bailey Morgan. Pete
was a loving mother and grandmother, a homemaker and a member of the Apostolic House of Faith. Her
loving husband of 52 years, Azil Kenneda, also preceded her in death, along with a sister Elvira “Babe”
Toler, a brother AR Morgan and a sister in law Fredona Morgan. Left to cherish her memory are eight
children Ott and Carol Kenneda of Hinton, Toney Kenneda of Crouches Farm, Denver “Buck” and Dovie
Kenneda of Crouches Farm, Carnetta and Bernie Cline of Simon, Bradley and Dora Kenneda of Simon,
Dexter and Kimberly Kenneda of Simon, Tom and Kayla Kenneda of Simon, and Charlie and Bridget
Kenneda of Simon; six brothers and sisters Leona Carter, Adelene and Nolan Adams, Polly and Grant

Ocie Mae Martin, 77years old, of Crouches Farm, WV, died on Wednesday February 10, 2010. Her
cause of death was Cardio Pulmonary Obstructive Disorder (COPD) a lung disease. Ocie Mae was born
Harts in Wayne County, WV. She was the daughter of the late Bertrand Harry Morrell and Ina Walls Morrell.
Preceding her in death was an infant brother David Morrell, a sister Betty Jo Morrell Bailey, a half brother
Vernon Morrell, two half sisters Naomi Burton and Muriel Toler and an infant granddaughter Syrilda Elise
Cook. Ocie leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Calvin C. Martin of Crouches Farm; a daughter
Carolyn Kay Jamkhandi and husband Sudhkar “Jammy” of Princeton, WV, a daughter Drema Gale Cook
and husband Roger of Crouches Farm; a granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Cook that was the light of her

Robert Samuel McGuire, 84, of Jesse, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday
February 6, 2010 in Raleigh General Hospital. He was born April 29, 1925 in Starratt, WV,
a son of the late Walter and Lizzie Barnette McGuire. He was a United States Army
Veteran, a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA. He was the last surviving member of
his immediate family and was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. He
attended the Turkey Ridge Baptist Church and Rhema Ministries. He enjoyed hunting,
riding his four wheeler and giving out religious tracts. Survivors include his loving wife of 61
and a half years Ruth Francis McGuire; daughter Gloria Cline and husband Epp of
Oceana, WV ; two sons Jack McGuire and wife Patricia of Glen Fork, WV and Bobby
McGuire and wife Virginia of Montcalm, WV; nine grandchildren Angela Hagendorn and
husband Brian, Carolyn Wilson and Bobby McGuire all of Missouri, Stephen Vaught and
wife Jai of Elkhart, Indiana, Phillip Vaught and wife April of Rich Creek, VA, Sandra Morgan
and husband James “Chuck” of McGraws, WV, Christina McGuire of Beckley, WV, Brandy
Stafford and husband Daniel of Oceana, WV and Hunter McGuire of Montcalm, WV; ten
great grandchildren Travis, Brittney and Brandon Hagendorn, Taylor, Lani and Emma
