Barbara Ann (Robinette) Cline Lusk, 63, of Fredricksburg, VA, formerly of
Gilbert, WV went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 5, 2009 at the Golden
Living Center in Fredricksburg, VA. Barbara Ann was born October 14, 1946 in
War Eagle, WV, a daughter of the late Andy and Octavia Cline. She was a loving
mother and a Registered Nurse, having worked many years at Man Appalachian
Regional Hospital. Those left to morn her loss include two daughters Belinda Cook
and husband Craig of Dunbar, WV and Annette Long and husband Bruce of
Fredricksburg, VA; a son Kevin Lusk and wife Robin of Van, WV; eight
grandchildren Nicholas and Matthew Cook, Brandi, Miranda and Max Long, Shawn,
Adrienne and Tristin Lusk; a long time adopted friend Jess Cook; a sister Shelba
Jean Strickland and husband William of Gilbert, WV; the father of her children and
friend Delmas Lusk and wife Linda of Alta, WV; and a host of friends. Funeral
services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday November 8, 2009 at the Chapel of
Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Jackie Lusk officiating. With

After a courageous battle, Roger Lee Parsons, Sr., 57, of Lynco, WV, went home to be
with the Lord, on Monday November 2, 2009 at his home. He was born April 2, 1952 in
Lynco, WV a son of Rita Bolen Parsons and the late Virgil Lee Parsons. Roger was a
member, Trustee and Sunday School Superintendent of Joseph Baptist Church and the
Recording Secretary of UMWA Local 7604. He was a member of The Heirs of Grace
Gospel Quartet. His sister Ruby Louise Hall Parsons and sister-in-law Kay Parsons also
preceded him in death along with his father. While he was an avid NASCAR and Pittsburg
Steelers fan, his main goal in life was to tell the good news of God. Survivors also include
his loving wife Corky Brown Parsons; a son Doozer Parsons of Lynco, WV; his mother Rita
Parsons of Lynco; a sister Susan Parsons and fiancé Mitch Simpson of Lynco; four
brothers William “Pee Wee” Parsons and wife Debi of Lynco, WV, Dallas Parsons and
wife Loretta of Sunhill, Ronnie Parsons of Hewett, WV and Scott Parsons and wife Jodi of
Clear Fork, WV; his dog Miley; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other
family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday November 5, 2009 at
the Joseph Baptist Church, Lynco, with Pastor William Cook officiating. Roger will be
laid to rest beside his sister in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may
gather with the family from 6 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour before the funeral

David Ray Hearns, 41, of Westfield, NC, formerly of Lynco, WV, passed away on Monday
October 26, 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. David was born April
15, 1968 in Man, WV, the son of Dewey and Shirley Maynor Chambers of Lynco, WV. He
was a roofing contractor for 20 years and had a small roofing business. He was a loving
husband, father, brother, son and grandfather. David was preceded in death by
grandparents Rosco and Vonda Maynor, a brother-in-law Mack Hall, a niece Brandy
Maynor and a sister-in-law Teresa Maynor. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of
23 years Angela Hall Hearns; three daughters Kassandra and Kaeleigh Hearns of
Westfield, NC and Stephanie Dixon of Lynco; a granddaughter Araya Dixon of Lynco;
three brothers Richard Maynor of NC, Billy Hearns of Lynco and Bobby Chambers of
Oceana; three sisters “Sissy” Trish Lester of Oceana, Betty Lusk of Glen Fork and JoAnne
Graham of Westfield, NC; his mother-in-law Sandra Toler and his father-in-law and best
friend Allen Toler of Westfield, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and great friends who
loved him with all of their hearts. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday

Calvin Dale Mullins, 52, of Glen Fork, WV, passed away on Thursday October
15, 2009 at his home following a long illness. He was born on February 20, 1957
at Mullens, WV a son of the late Kenneth Darrell Mullins and Joann Pennington
Mullins of Glen fork, WV. Calvin was a welder and a graduate of Glen Rogers
High School. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Mullins in June of
2005 and a brother Alfred Mullins in 2001. Survivors include his mother Joann
Pennington Mullins of Glen Fork, WV; two brothers Clifford Mullins and wife
Frankie of Conover, NC and Jeff Mullins of Glen Fork, WV; a daughter Misty
Brown of Glen Fork, WV; a son Zachary Mullins of Glen Fork, WV; a step-son
Billy Belcher of Glen Fork, WV; a granddaughter Brookelyn Brown of Glen Fork,

Tina Rae McCarty Blackburn, 41, of Oceana, WV passed away on Saturday October
10, 2009 at Logan Regional Medical Center. Tina was born March 31, 1968 in Beckley,
WV, a daughter of Sandra Bowden Holmes of Lillydale, WV and Jimmie Lee McCarty and
wife Charlotte of Lexington, NC. She was a homemaker, 1986 graduate of Oceana High
School and was a band member. Her sister Mary Gina Dawn Holmes-Grant preceded her
in death. Survivors also include her loving son Christopher Garrett Blackburn of the home;
her companion Joseph Clark Walker of Oceana; grandparents Ocel and Mary Bowden of
Oceana and Wannie and Maysel McCarty of Oak Hill; an aunt Marsha Blankenship and
husband Raymond of Beckley; nephews Matthew Gilley of San Antonio, TX and Bradley
Gilley of Tampa, FL; brothers and sisters Keith and Cemantha Mayhorn of Lexington, NC,
David and Kimberly (Sams) Green of Oceana, WV, Kimberly (McCarty) Stevens and
husband Brett of Pennville, IN, and Katrina (McCarty) Lusk and husband Mackie of
Cyclone; cousins Nick and Alex Blankenship; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Karen Sue Cook Curley, 51, of Fairdale, WV formerly of Oceana, WV
passed away on Friday October 9, 2009 at her home. She was born July 15,
1958 in Man, WV, a daughter of Eugene Herman and Juanita Farley Cook of
Holly Hills, WV. Karen was a 1977 graduate of Oceana High School. Her
brother Jeff Cook preceded her in death. Survivors also include a sister Kelli

Arlene Francis Kennedy Waldon, 41, of Princeton, WV, formerly of Simon, WV departed this life on Sunday
September 26, 2009 at her home. Arlene was born June 30, 1968 in Mullens, WV, a daughter of the late Arlin Jay
Kennedy, Sr. and Doris Delena Lester Kennedy of Simon, WV. She was a homemaker. Also preceding her in death
is a brother Michael Kennedy, Sr. and a niece Cassandra Bledsoe. Those left to cherish her memories are her

September 21, 2009. She was born February 25, 1926 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Millard Hannibal
and Georgia Henderson Hatfield. She was a retired dry cleaner and a homemaker. Along with her parents, those
also preceding her in death include her husband Willis Adkins, a son Dell Adkins and a brother Harry Hatfield.
Survivors include a son James Orville “Jimbo” Adkins and wife Linda of Laurel Branch, WV; four grandchildren
Angela and Brad Poling, with whom she made her home, of Jumping Branch, WV, Michael and Tina Adkins of
