Carrie Daugherty Chapman, 46, of Lillydale, WV, passed away on Sunday April 17, 2011 at her home.
She was born May 26, 1964, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Karen Chapman and the late Bennie Chapman,
Sr. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother Rhoda Chapman of Princeton, WV. She was a
loving mother and homemaker. Survivors include her daughter Heather Daugherty of Lynco, WV;
ex-husband Charles Daugherty of Hanover, WV; her mother Karen Chapman and boyfriend Bruce of
Chicago, IL; a brother Bennie Chapman, Jr. and wife Renea of Cyclone, WV; a niece and nephew
Cheyenne and Dylan Chapman of Cyclone, WV; Many other relatives living out of state; and a host of close
friends. She will be missed and loved always by those who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00
PM Friday April 22, 2011 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. She will be laid
to rest in Cook cemetery, Lynco, WV. Friends may gather with the family from Noon until service time at
the funeral home. The
family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Elizabeth Catherine “Susie” Wolfe, 49, of Oceana, WV passed away on Monday April 18, 2011 at her
home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 2, 1961 in Beckley, WV a daughter of the
late Vaughn J. and Rachel Mae Ritchie Cozort. She was a 1979 graduate of Oceana High School and a
member of the Crany Missionary Baptist Church. Susie worked as an EMT for over 20 years, was a First
Aid and CPR instructor for much of that time. During her career she worked for many of the local EMS
Services, endeavoring to help those in need. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert
“Bob” Wolfe and a brother Eddie Cozort. Those left to mourn her passing include her daughter Tanya
Dawn Garber and husband Phillip, Jr. of Oceana; a step-son Joshua Wolfe of Pennsylvania; a brother Jim
Cozort and wife Patricia of Oceana; two grandchildren Faith and Willia Garber of Oceana; an uncle Jack
Ritchie of Oceana; sister-in-law Karen Roberts of NC; nieces Julie Cozort and Misti Toler both of Oceana;
nephew Adam Cozort and wife Emily of Oceana; special cousins Betty Halsey and husband Fred and
Andrea Hall and husband Daniel all of Oceana; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral
services will be held at noon on Thursday April 21, 2011 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral
Home with Rev. James Walker officiating. Susie will be laid to rest in the Kennedy cemetery, Crany,
WV. State and Local EMS Personnel will honor Susie with an EMS Honor Guard and graveside rites.
Friends may gather with the family from 6 - 9:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Loretta Lynn Morgan Pittman, 42, of North Springs, WV, passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at
her home. She was born June 9, 1968 in Detroit, MI, a daughter of Buster Thurl and Dolly Mae Chambers
Kenneda. A brother Larry Fortner preceded her in death. Survivors include her companion of 6 years
James Toler; a daughter Tiffany Morgan and companion Shane Toler of Hanover; grandchild Braxton
Eugene Shane Toler; a son Stevie Ray Morgan of Hanover; four step grandchildren Casey Toler, Amber
Toler, Jamie Toler, David Toler of Hanover; three sisters Dovie Kenneda and husband Denver of
Crouches Farm, Margie Cline and husband Edward of Hanover and Brenda Rowe and husband Brady of
Hanover; three brothers Tommy Webb and wife Tessie of Hanover, Billy Fortner of NC, Shawn Toler of
Welch, her husband Franklin Pittman and a host of loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held
at 2:00 PM Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Barry
Brooks and Rev. Dennis Lester officiating. She will be laid to rest in Morgan cemetery, Long Branch,
WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6 until midnight on Monday April 25, 2011 and Tuesday April
26, 2011 at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Misty Marie Justice Medero, 24, of New Port Ritchie, FL, formerly of Panther, WV, passed away on
Wednesday April 20, 2011 at Brookside Hospice, Palm Harbor, FL. She was born October 16, 1986 in
Bluefield, WV , a daughter of Melissa Ann “Lisa” Rowe Justice Hayes and the late Carl David Justice. She
was a loving mother. In addition to her father, her great grandpapents Martha and Archie B. Rowe and
General Bailey also preceded her in death along with her step mother Judy Moody Roberts Justice and a
great uncle John Henry Rowe. Survivors include her daughter Halie Medero of Iaeger; two sisters Meliene
Rowe and fiancée John Meadows of Iaeger and ShaLynn Justice of FL; a brother David Lee Justice of
Iaeger; her companion Benjamin Vaughn of Newport Ritchie, FL; step father Gary Hayes of Newport
Ritchie, FL; grandparents Tiny and Oscar Roberts of Panther and Martha and Sam Dotson of Iaeger;
aunts and uncles Diana Rowe of Long Pole, Arthur Rowe of Iaeger, Julie Dotson of Justice, Ginger Steele
of NC, Ricky Dean Dotson and Sammy Dotson both of Iaeger, and Delphia Dotson of NC; great
grandparents Barbara and Carl Sherwood of ME; a nephew Dakota Rowe of Iaeger; her husband Joshua
Patrick Medero of Tampa, FL; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at
11:00 AM on Tuesday April 26, 2011 at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. John Hunt
and Bro. Willie Coleman officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Allen and Dotson cemetery, Panther,
WV. Friends may call after 6:00 PM on Monday at the church.

Shirley Jane Cline Hatfield, 59, of Rockview, WV passed away on Friday April 22, 2011 in Raleigh
General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born January 11, 1952 in Welch, WV a daughter of Oley B. Cline
and the late Rosie Toler Cline. She was a homemaker and loving mother and wife. Shirley attended the
Rockview Pentecostal Church of God. Also preceding her in death were a sister Flossie Ray, three
brothers Timmy, Benny and Millard Cline. Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years Roy Hatfield,
Jr.; three daughters Jane (Jamie) Cook of Cabin Creek, Melissa (Johnny) Kennison of Beckley, WV and
Betty Jo (Jesse) Vance of Keyrock; five sons Roy Hatfield, Jr. II of Key Rock, Richard Benjamin (Robin)
Hatfield of Coon Branch, Johnny Mack (Angie) Hatfield of Bel-Air, OH, Nicholas Herman (Shasta) Hatfield
of Rockview, Danny Lee (Andrea) Hatfield of Mullens; two sisters Peggy (Ronald) Hatfield of Coon Branch,
and Debbie Cline of NC; five brothers Richard, Jeff, Frankie, Toby and Kenndell Cline all of Brenton;
cousin Bill (Shirley) Cline of Coal Mountain; aunt Frankie Cline of Long Branch; fourteen grandchildren;
and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday April 27,
2011 at the Rockview Pentecostal Church of God with Pastor Raymond Bishop officiating. Shirley will
be laid to rest in the Cline cemetery, Reedy Creek, WV. Friends may call after 6:00 PM on Tuesday April

Ronald Lee Hatfield, 60, of Matheny, WV passed on Saturday April 23, 2011 in Welch Community
Hospital. He was born December 19, 1950 in Logan County, WV, a son of the late Roy Hatfield, Sr. and
Darlene Hatfield Weant. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years
Peggy Cline Hatfield; two daughters Veronica Echols and husband Mike of Itmann and Linda Hatfield of
Matheny; six sons Ronald Lee Hatfield, Jr., Brian Hatfield, Anthony Hatfield and wife Georgie and
Christopher Hatfield all of Matheny, Ronnie Hatfield and wife Jolena of Oceana and Timothy Hatfield and
wife Summer of Matheny; one sister Judy Lyons and husband Kennith of Clear Fork; three brothers Roy
Hatfield, Jr. of Key Rock, Eddie Hatfield and wife Elizabeth of Grown and Jimmy Hatfield and wife Betty of
Detroit, MI; six grandchildren Dakota, Brianna, Anthony II, Jacob, Christian and Nevaeh; two step
grandchildren Avery Toler and wife Jennifer and Adam Toler and wife Tiffany all of Matheny; nine step
great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday
April 28, 2011 of the Pentecostal House of Prayer, Lynco, WV with the Pastor Firg Profitt and Rev.
Tommy White officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest in the Shannon cemetery, Baileysville, WV. Friends
may call after 6:00 PM on Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral

David Lee Harper, 64, of Jasper, AL, formerly of Landville, WV, passed away April 24, 2011 at his
residence of natural causes. He was born October 23, 1946 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Allen Azel
and Rose Ivan Harper. He was employed by Chevron Mining in Berry, AL, He will be loved and sadly
missed by his co-workers. Also preceding him in death were his wife Bonnie Harper and infant brother
Allen Harper. Survivors include Companion Rita Mae Cook of Jasper, AL; daughter Venece Lynn Short
and husband James of Robinette, WV; three sons David A. “Dink” Harper of Charleston, WV and Sean C.
Harper of Logan, WV, John Brunn and wife Frances of Cleveland, OH; three step children Amber Cook,
Billy Cook and Rebecca Absher; six granddaughters Lenecia Short, Taylor Browning, Alyssa Harper,
Amelia, Alanna Harper and Myranda Brunn; one grandson Gavin Brunn; two great grandchildren Colton
Gage, and Zoey Shyanne; six step grandchildren Jamie Short, James Short Jr., Dalton, Ethan, Seth and
Hannah Mae Cook; two step great grandchild Ethan Perdue and Keeley Short; three sisters Cathy
Dameron and husband Ray of Cyclone, Sherrie Colegrove and husband Roy of Michigan and Debbie
Eldridge and husband Danny of NC; half sister Juanita Duncan of Virginia Beach, VA and a host of
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday April 29, 2011 in the Chapel of
Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens,
Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 3-9:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Harper, Sean Harper, James Short, Mark Dameron, Keith Dameron, Allen
Colegrove, John Brunn and Gavin Brunn. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco,

Roger Dale Thomas, 55, of Brenton, WV, passed away on Thursday April 28, 2011 at his home. He
was born August 1, 1955 in Pineville, West Virginia, a son of Margie Marie Vaughn Thomas Cook and
the late Lee Roy Thomas. He was a retired coal miner and a loving father and husband. In addition to his
father, he was also preceded in death by a special uncle William Pete Thomas. Survivors include his
loving wife Rebecca Sue Gibson Thomas; a son Roger Dale Thomas, II and wife Jessica of Kopperston,
WV; his mother Margie Marie Vaughn Thomas Cook of Jesse, WV; three sisters Carolyn Steele and
husband Tommy of Lynco, WV, Connie Deel and Cindy Clay both of Pineville, WV; a brother Gordon
Thomas and wife Tammy of Princeton, WV; his best friend Gene Sizemore; and a host of nieces,
nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday May 2,
2011 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Jim Davis and Bro. Dan
Lawrence officiating. Roger will be laid to rest in the Rose cemetery, Brier Creek, WV. Friends may
gather with the family from noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be

Carol Faye Morrell Buckland, 53, of Oceana, WV passed away Saturday April 30, 2011 at Welch
Community Hospital. Carol was born January 31, 1958 in Pineville, WV a daughter of the late Vernon
harry and Hazel Toler Morrell. She was a homemaker and attended the Lynco Community Church. In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son John Wesley Buckland, a brother Bert
Morrell, father-in-law Ronald Buckland and a son-in-law Darren Toler. Survivors include her loving
husband of 37 years Jackie Lee Buckland; two daughters Christina Michelle Toler and Amy Lea Bouldin
both of Oceana, WV; a son Jackie Isaih Buckland of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren Hailie
Buckland, Megan Bouldin, Autum Tolliver, Siceria Tolliver and Patrick Toler; her special mother-in-law
Natalee Buckland of Oceana, WV; two sisters Joan Morrell of Oceana, WV and Paula Allen and husband
Marty of Lynco, WV; a brother Randy Morrell of Oceana, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday May 5, 2011 in the Chapel of Stafford Family
Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Bro. Gary Toler and Bro. Bill Massey officiating. Carol will be laid to rest
in the Cook cemetery, Lynco, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6 – 9:00 PM on Wednesday

Ethelene “Ethel” Blankenship, on May 3, 2011, Ethel slipped away peacefully in the early
morning hours after an extended illness. She was born May 22, 1932 in Simon, WV, daughter of
the late Johnny and Mary Ellen Aliff Toler. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Norlin
Toler and Luther Toler and a sister Lucy Harvey. She is survived by her husband of 59 years
Holland Blankenship: a son Randy (Katrina) Blankenship of Beckley; granddaughters Melinda and
Melissa Blankenship of Beckley; great grandchildren Kaylea and Jackson of Beckley, WV; a very
special niece and nephew Veronica and Carl Allen of Sun Hill, to whom we can never express
enough of our most deepest appreciation for your love and devotion shown to our Mom; Molly, her
faithful companion and beloved pet; two sisters Lula Neal and Polly and Curtis Crouch of Shady
Spring; a brother Brian Toler of Jesse; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco,
with Pastor Jay Blankenship officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens
Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until service time at
the funeral home.
