Eddie Joseph Strunk, 63, of McGraws, WV, formerly of Ansted, WV passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 12, 1950, in Logan County, WV a son of the late Thelma Strunk. Survivors include three daughters Shannan and Brett Duncan of McGraws, Lora and Steve Freshour of Chapmanville, and Leesa and Andy Sutton of TN; a son Ricky and Lisa Strunk of Chapmanville; two sisters Becky and Windell Welch of TN, and Niwanna Russell of Chapmanville; two brothers Tommy Brewster of Chapmanville, and Steve Brewster of Chapmanville; thirteen grandchildren Destiny Massey, Chelsea Duncan, Chris Strunk, Stephanie Adams, Nick Strunk, Chasity Freshour, Ashley Freshour, Roberta Strunk, Norma Sutton, Robert Sutton, Eddie Sutton, Precious Sutton, and Misty Sutton; six great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday May 31, 2013 at the Duncan Family cemetery, McGraws, WV, with Rev. Ernest Francis officiating. Friends may gather with the family on Thursday from 6-8:00 PM at the Ravencliff Church of God, Ravencliff, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Patsy Jane Cline Maynard, 55, of Beckley, WV formerly of Crouches Farm, WV, passed away on Friday May 31, 2013 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born February 20, 1958, in Pineville, WV a Daughter of Jack Edward and Barbara Jean Rowe Cline of Crouches Farm, WV. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she is survived by a daughter Stella Marie Maynard Webb and husband Kermit of Rock View; two grandchildren Dawn Marie Webb and Jeremiah Jacob Webb; three sisters Jacqueline Cline of Sunhill, Phyllis Lee of Mississippi and Tiffiny Powers and husband Keith of Crouches Farm; a brother Jimmy Cline and wife Tali of Sunhill; a niece Denora Burke; six nephews Harley Stewart, B.J. (Natasha) Cline, Michael (Maryann) Cline, Jeremy (Samara) Delong, Hunter Powers and Cole Powers; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday June 5, 2013 at the Brenton Church of God, with Bro. Seth Cline officiating. Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday from 6 - 9:00 PM at the church. She will be laid to rest in the Cline Family cemetery, Sunhill, WV. Pallbearers will be nephews. Meloney Marie Castle Franklin, 65, of Beckley, WV formerly of Oceana, WV, passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital. She was born June 7, 1947 in Kentucky, a daughter of the late Everett and Melissa Stumbo Castle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband John Franklin, Sr.; a son Gregory Dean Castle, a daughter Pamela Carol Franklin and a granddaughter Ashley Marie Franklin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Wharton Church of God. Survivors include a daughter Crystal Dawn Harmon of Oceana; two sons John Franklin, Jr. and Kirby Eugene Franklin both of Logan; a sister Phyllis Castle of Kansas; eight grandchildren Brian Keith Franklin, Everett Cottrell, Gordon Dale Castle, Elyssa Alley Franklin, Isaiah Jacob Franklin, Caylan Dawn Franklin, Page Lynn Franklin and Halli Ray Franklin; and a host of other loving family and friends. She will be cremated and there will be no public services. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Gary Grant Gibson, 62, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday June 8, 2013 at Bower’s Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born November 28, 1950 in Clear Fork, WV a son of the late Dillard and Easter Gay Toler Gibson. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. Survivors include a son Gary L. Gibson and wife Betty of Oceana; a daughter Amanda L. Gibson of Sophia; a sister Barbara Ann Gibson of North Carolina; three brothers Michael “Duke” Gibson and wife Darlene of Pineville, Tony Gibson of Oceana and Jimmy Gibson of Bluefield; three grandchildren Jordan Gibson, Caitlin Gibson and Tori Gibson; and a host of other loving family and friends. He will be cremated and there will be no public services. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Stollie Yvonne Bailey Lusk, 66, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday June 29, 2013 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. She was born March 8, 1947 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late Jay and Ada Osborne Bailey. She was a member of the Cyclone Church of God. In addition to her Parents she was preceded in death by her husband Emory Dale Lusk. Survivors include a daughter Patricia (Kenneth) Workman of Cyclone, WV; two son Jessie (Lena Gaye) Lusk of Cyclone, and Emory Loren (Crystal) Lusk of Cyclone; three sisters Rachel (Gordon) Workman of Cyclone, Velva Tolliver of Cyclone, and Magalene Watts of Cyclone; two brothers Stevie (Jackie) Bailey of Cyclone, and Chucky (Margaret) Bailey of Cyclone; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday July 3, 2013 at the Cyclone Church of God, Cyclone, WV with Rev. Jackie Lusk, Rev. Scotty Lusk, and Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. She will be laid to rest in Osborne cemetery, Brushy Fork Road, Cyclone, WV. Friends may call from 6-10:00 PM on Tuesday July 2, 2013 at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. On Wednesday July 10, 2013, Kolleena Reinette “Corky” Brown Parsons, of Lynco, WV went home to be with her husband Roger. She was surrounded by a host of family and friends. She was born March 21, 1962 at Fort Eustis Military Base, Newport News, VA. She was the second child of Kenneth and Hilda Brown of Kopperston. A graduate of Oceana High School, Class of 1980. Corky spent her life as a loving mother and housewife. She attended Joseph Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher and Bookkeeper. Corky loved spending time with family, whether it was a vacation or a weekend cookout, she loved being surrounded with friends and family. Preceding her in death was her husband of 31 years, Roger, mother and father-in-law Virgil and Rita Parsons, a sister- in-law Ruby Hall and a brother-in-law Ronnie Parsons. Survivors include her son Doozer of Lynco; her parents KD and Hilda Brown of Kopperston; a sister Rena Pelphrey and husband Ronnie of Lynco; a brother Bado Brown and partner Ty Ostreicher of Sanford, FL; three brothers-in-law William “PeeWee” Parsons and wife Debi of Lynco, Dallas Parsons and wife Loretta of Sunhill and Scott Parsons and wife Jodi of Clear Fork; a sister-in-law Susan Parsons and fiancé Mitch Simpson of Lynco; a granddaughter to be Emma Leigh Parsons; her dog Miley; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and countless other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday July 13, 2013 at the Joseph Baptist Church, Lynco, with Pastor William Cook officiating. Corky will be laid to rest beside her husband in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6 – 9:00 PM on Friday and one hour before the funeral service at the church. Pall bearers will be family and friends. Ruby Mae Lusk Bailey, 75, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 13, 2013 at Logan Regional Medical Center following a long illness with her family by her side. She was born March 6, 1938 at Cyclone, WV, a daughter of the late Mack and Hallie Paynter Lusk. Ruby enjoyed her family get togethers, her church family and her church. She loved going out to eat with her daughters and granddaughters, she loved going to church when she could. In addition to her parents, her husband Robert “Pondy” Bailey in 1998 and an infant son Robert Grady Bailey and a daughter Regina Bailey Trent in Nov. of 2009, and a granddaughter Miranda Bailey, also preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory include six children, three daughters Linda Lusk and husband Andrew of Cyclone, Judy Fraley and husband Wes of Oceana and Cindy Daniels and husband Ryan of Cyclone; three sons Randall Bailey and wife Suzette of Cyclone, Jackie Bailey and wife Pam of Oceana and Iverson Bailey and wife Vickie of Matheny; Ruby’s nine grandchildren Chris Fraley, Brad Fraley, Crystal Massey, Michael Bailey, Keith Bailey, Hayes Lusk, Shelia Haynes, Matthew Daniels and Sarah Daniels; her thirteen great grandchildren Christopher Fraley, Isaac Fraley, Gracie Fraley, Kaylee Massey, Gavin Massey, Kacie Fraley, Karlie Fraley, Tyler Bailey, Jacob Haynes, Hayden Lusk, Matthew Bailey, Hunter Bailey and Kaitlyn Bailey; two brothers her twin Billy Lusk of Oceana and Mackie Lusk of Cyclone; two sisters Sharon Osborne of Cyclone and Carrie Toler of Celina, Ohio; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at the Toler Baptist Church, Campus, with Pastor Clarence Gibson officiating. Ruby will be laid to rest beside her husband in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6 – 9:00 PM on Monday and one hour before the funeral service at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family extends special thanks to 4th floor ICU at Logan Regional Medical Center, Genisus Healthcare at three mile curve and STAT Ambulance Service for all the loving care showed to our mom. Helen Rita Bailey Toler, 60, of Oceana, WV went on to a better life on Saturday July 13, 2013 at her home. She was born February 16, 1953 at Amigo, WV, a daughter of the late Earl and Elouise Cline Bailey. She was a loving wife and mother and of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, her daughter-in-law Dana Bailey and father-in-law Walter Toler, also preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of thirty-three years Kenneth “Jimmy” Toler; her son Donald Bailey and wife Kelly of Oceana; two granddaughters Alexandria and Brooke Bailey; two sisters Georgia Bailey of Kopperston and Mildred Morgan and husband Jackie of Sunhill; a brother Gene Bailey and wife Sherry of Sunhill; mother-in-law Shirley Toler of Statesville, NC; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday July 17, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, with Rev. Randall Toppin officiating. Graveside services will be at noon on Thursday July 18, 2013 in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6 – 9:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Donald Dean Ford, 70, of Welch-Pineville Road, passed away on Friday July 19, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born November 30, 1942 in Wolf Pen, WV, a son of the late Oley and Norma Mullins Ford. He was a painter. He is survived by two daughters Genene Blankenship, her husband Bruce and son Drake Blankenship of Pleasant View, TN and Crystal Nichols, her husband Brandon and two sons Garrett and Braxton Nichols of Clarksville, TN; a sister Peggy Ann Taylor and a very special niece Lisa Cloverdale of Nobblesville, IN; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. Burial of his cremains will be held at a later date in Brewster Point cemetery. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Sidney Dale Goodwin, 71, of Dunedin, Florida, and Gap Mills, WV (formerly of Oceana, WV) went home to be with our Lord on Sunday July 21, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 4, 1942 in Logan, WV. Sid was a retired employee of Eastern Associated Coal Corporation Kopperston II mines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the mountains and sharing those loves with his family. Left to carry on his legacy of strong family values and love of the beautiful outdoors are his wife Geraldine of 48 years; his children Cindy (John) Lavezzo, Pam (Eric) Tobias, and Dale (Carmen) Goodwin whom all reside in Florida except when they can return home to the beautiful mountains of WV. His ten grandchildren Kalie, Resha, Nick, Kortney, Jordan, Derek, Jakob, Ellie, Alyssa, and grandson due on September 3; four great grandchildren Haley, Jasmine, Amiya, and Jahsiah with whom he took pride in spending many hours teaching and sharing his values and abundance of knowledge. He was predeceased by his father Boots Logan Goodwin, mother Orphia Mary Noe; sisters Ellilouise Goodwin, and Garnell Sheppard, and a brother Calvin Goodwin. Survived by his brother Joe Goodwin and sisters Garnett Lusk and Midge Hicks all of Oceana, and a host of nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday July 24, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, with Pastor Ricky Proffitt officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 5:00 PM until time of service on Wednesday. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers Sid requested that you help his family fulfill his last dream of finishing the renovations of his cabin so his grandchildren can enjoy the love and peace of the mountains as he has. Wanda Steffey, 80, of Oceana, WV went to be with the Lord on Monday July 22, 2013 in Morgantown after a long term illness. She was born in Rockhouse, KY, a daughter of the late Palmer and Ivory Bartley Coleman. Creativity was a significant part of Wanda’s life. She was an accomplished seamstress, even donating her time to create cheerleading and dance uniforms for the local girls in Oceana, and she was a talented artist who left many beautiful paintings for her family to admire. She served as president of the Oceana Women’s Club, and for most of her career she was a department head at the Island Creek Store. Most importantly, Wanda was a devoted and cherished friend to many, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill Coleman; a beloved grandson, Will Cook; and a cherished daughter-in-law, Frankie Steffey. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years John Pitts Steffey; a sister Flo Thacker of Brownstown, MI; a son Larry Wayne Steffey of Gray, TN; a daughter Connie Cook and her husband Larry of Queensland, Australia; three granddaughters Beth Steffey, Sara Greene, and Haley Bunn; she was blessed with two great grandchildren Olivia and Lucas Greene; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday July 25, 2013 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco. Wanda will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11 AM on Thursday until time of service at the funeral home. As an alternative to flowers, friends and family may make donations in memory of Wanda Steffey to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center (www.wvucancer.org/Giving/where-to-give).
