Billie Woodrow “Shaw” Keeney, Jr., 68, of Cyclone, WV, went on his heavenly flight in the morning hours of July 29, 2013. He was born August 3, 1944 in Cyclone, WV the son of Verna Stevens Keeney and the late Billie W. Keeney, Sr. Bill was a US Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was always a happy man and enjoyed being around people. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson Austin Blankenship, two son-in-laws Darren Vankomen and Bill Compton, a nephew Kim Wells and lifelong friend Gary “Train” Brown. He is survived by his mother Verna Keeney; three sons BJ (Sandra) Keeney, Brandon (Christi) Keeney and Mitchell (Lovetta) Toler; five daughters Kim (Terry) Benscoter, Tamberlie LaDawn (Roger) Peel, Stephanie Vankomen, Dusty Compton, Tanya (Mark) Jenkins; the mother of his children Peggy Keeney-White; Brandon’s mother Coretta Osborne; eighteen grandkids Amber, Tiffany, Courtney and Trey Keeney, Corey Blankenship, Kayla Daniels, Brody and Tanner Jenkins, Chelsea White, Dakota Johnson, Brittany McPherson, Drayke, Trayce and Raeleigh Keeney, Destiny, Blake and Skyler Toler; three great grandchildren Chey Douglas, Darren Cook and one due in September 2013; five sisters Norma Jean Wells and companion Ed Dunn, Eva (Wilburn) Bailey, Rita (Gene) Harvey, Betty (Jimmy) Toler, Judy Lynn (Terry) St. Clair; a brother Mike (Barbara) Wells and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Bill was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday August 1, 2013 at the New Life Church, Jesse, WV with Bro. Benny Osborne officiating. Larrie Mason Lester, 73, of Indian Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2013. He was born November 20, 1939 in Fanrock, WV, a son of the late Kenneth Pleasant and Edner Ruth Barrett Lester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Lonnie Lincoln Lester. Survivors include three brothers Latham E. Lester of Warrenton, VA, Leonard C. Lester of Indian Creek and Leslie Harold Lester of Front Royal, VA; a sister Lindia Ruth Lester of Indian Creek; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. Regina Sue Stafford, 47, of Lillydale, WV, passed away on August 15, 2013 at her home. She was born March 30, 1966 in Mullens, WV, a daughter of Sylvia Atwell Stafford of Baileysville and the late Robert Rodney “Bob” “Railroad” Stafford, Sr. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother Randell “Randy” Stafford; a niece Angelina Maria Stafford; and a uncle Verlin Atwell. Brenda Pricilla Vint Johnson, 71, of Lynco, WV passed away on Wednesday August 21, 2013 at her home. She was born September 19, 1941 in Wharton, WV a daughter of the late Curtis Edward and Alta Mae Justice Vint. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Douglas Leon “Doug” Johnson; two daughters Tina Johnson and Cynthia Pennington; and a sister Patricia Baker. Survivors include a daughter Lisa Dawn White and husband William of Oceana; two sisters Frances “Sis” Collins and husband Thomas of Fairdale, and Kathy Maynard of South Charleston; a brother Stewart Vint of Fairdale; a sister-in-law and care taker Erdene Hiller of Colonial Beach; six grandchildren Dougie Johnson, Kurtis White, Tina Pennington, TJ Pennington, Justin Pennington and Neal White; a great grandchild Camryn Jones and a host of other loving family and friends. Donald Everett “Donnie” Valley, Jr., 67, of Oceana, WV passed away on Saturday August 31, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. Donnie was born September 27, 1945 in Beckley, WV a son of the late Donald Everett and Martha Lucille Griffith Valley. He was a US Air Force Veteran, member of the UMWA and a retired coal miner. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Ben Dixon. Survivors include his loving wife Phyllis Young Valley; three daughters Rhonda (Marvin) Cole of Lillydale, Donna (Erby) Lester of Oceana and Melissa (Daren) Bullard of Hickory, NC; five grandchildren Autumn Lester, Kaitlyn Lester, Chase Bullard, Connor Bullard and Nevaeh Cole; four sisters Gretta (Dan) Farley of Beckley, Kathy Dixon of Richmond, VA, Brenda (Tom Thumb) Wrestler of Charleston and Linda Taylor of Newport News, VA; and a host of other loving family and friends. Delmas Shelly Lusk, 70, of Sinks Grove, WV formerly of Cyclone was granted his angel wings at 6:57 PM on Tuesday September 3, 2013 at University of Pittsburg Medical Center, Pittsburg, PA following a long illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Delmas was of the Baptist faith and was a coal miner for 28 years. He was born November 13, 1942 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the late Creed and Merlie Bailey Lusk. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Lora and Rosie Lusk; two brothers Roy and Posey Lusk; a daughter Ambara Lusk; father and mother-in-law Herndon P. and Earnie B. Stewart; brothers-in-law Paris and Joseph Stewart; and ex-wife Barbara Lusk. Herbert “Herb” Lester, 76, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the lord on Tuesday September 10, 2013 at his home. He was born July 3, 1937 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late Jesse Bennett and Mary Louise Lester. Herb was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Magaret Paynter, Hazel Lambert, and Lillian Powers; and a brother James Lester. Survivors include three sisters Trish (Clarence) Langford of Grant, AL, Jessie Thornsbury of Oceana, and Bessie Belcher of Clear Fork, WV; four brothers Glenn Lester of Grant, AL, Ralph (Faye) Lester of Chicago, IL, J.B. Lester of Smith Mountain Lake, VA and Cherry King Ringo Lester of Chicago, IL; and a host of other loving family and friends. Crystal Ann Lusk, 40, of Cyclone, WV left this life on Sunday September 15, 2013 at her home, following a short battle with cancer. She was born April 6, 1973, a daughter of the late Roger Scott and Marsha Scott Daniels. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step father Stacy Daniels; a niece Brooklyn Scott; father-in-law Emory Lusk; and mother-in-law Stollie Lusk. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Emory Loren Lusk; a daughter Jennifer Workman and husband Raymond of Oceana; a granddaughter Jasmine Workman; two brothers Steven Scott of Cyclone; and Benjamin Scott and wife Davy of Seth; brother and sister-in-laws Jesse and Lena Gaye Lusk with whom she resided in her last days; and Gene and Patricia Workman all of Cyclone; four nieces; four nephews; three great nephews; four great nieces; and a host of other loving family and friends. Dale Roger Harold, 66, of Marianna, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday September 23, 2013 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born May 5, 1947 in Fanrock, WV. Dale retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132 after 35 years of service. He also belonged to the United Steel Workers district 23 for 5 years. Dale was preceded in death by his father Darrell Harold of Brenton, and a brother Buel of Brenton. He was a 1965 graduate of Baileysville High School. Dales is survived by Dottie his loving wife of 47 years; his mother May Harold of Brenton; a daughter Cynthia and her husband Harry Stafford, Jr. of Clermont, FL, and their children Chelsea, Courtney, Megan, and Caleb; a son Dale, Jr. of Marianna and his kids Kaylee, and Dale III; a brother Paul and his and his wife Linda of Saltville, VA and their son Eric; a sister Patricia and her husband Eddie St. Clair of Marianna and their kids Missy and Eddie Lee; two nieces Angie and Christy. Dale enjoyed taking his camaro to car shows and being a citizens band radio enthusiast, where he enjoyed talking to his many friends on CB channel 36. The family wishes to honor Dale’s request of no service. Eldron Hamilton, 91, of Kopperston, WV, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2013. He was born April 15, 1922 in Hanging Rock, OH. He was the son of the late Booten and Ida Collins Hamilton. Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 67 years Elizabeth Hamilton; three sisters Arizona Moore, Inais Keene and Clara May Hobbs; three brothers Willie Hamilton, Delmer Lee Hamilton, and Elisha Hamilton; and one great grandson James. Survivors include his two daughters Rebecca Adkins of Kopperston and Kay (Jackie) Sanders of Glen Fork; two sons Roger (Mai) Hamilton of Blytheville Arkansas and Gregory (Elizabeth) Hamilton of Hutto, TX ; two sisters Edith Elliott of Orange, TX and Immogene (Silas) Stunbo of Coal Grove, OH; a niece Immogene of TX; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and a host of other loving family and friends. Larry was a member of the Oceana Volunteer Fire Department and an EMT with Jan Care and STAT Ambulance services.
