Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 47 years Dovie Elswick Rollins. He was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter Paula Acord and husband Eddie of Lynco, WV; a son Charles “Chuck” Rollins Jr. and wife Kathy of Winston Salem, NC; grandchildren Chafin Rollins, Andrew Rollins and Theodore “Shorty” Acord; two sisters Freda Smith and husband Everett “Bud” and Mary Johnson and husband Bill all of Crany, WV; two brothers Cecil Rollins and wife Donna of Crany, WV and Bob Rollins and wife Donna of Hinton, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends. Dorothy Victoria England, 78 of Indian Creek, WV, passed away on Thursday February 6, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born June 19, 1935 in Delbarton, WV, a daughter of the late William John and Mae M. Milam Pennington. Larry Lynn Rogers, 53, of Troutman, NC, formerly of Elk Creek, WV, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at his home. He was born August 26, 1960 in Welch, WV, a son of the late Pat and Bessie Rogers. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother James “Patty” Rogers; four sisters Peggy Johnson, Freda Ellis, Ruby Toler and Martha Moore; and a grandson Aaron Jarrett. Roger Keaton McKinney, 62, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital. He was born March 12, 1951 in Slab Fork, WV a son of the late Bernard Burdette and Katherine Marie Pierce McKinney. Roger was a member of the Crany Missionary Baptist Church. He loved all his family, church family and many friends. Roger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Herbert Lewis and Bernard Burdette McKinney, Jr.; a sister Shirley Jean McKinney; mother-in-law Madeleen Stepp; sister-in-law Charlene Blankenship; and special aunt Thelma Thompson. Emory Loren Lusk, Jr., 47, of Cyclone, WV, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014 at his home following a short illness. He was born May 10 1966 in Logan, WV a son of the late Stollie and Emory L. Lusk, Sr. Emory is a graduate of Oceana High School. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Crystal Scott Lusk; a great niece Kadence Moore; and both sets of grandparents. Tennis Chess Jackson, 56, of North Spring, WV, went to join the Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Huntington, WV, following a short illness. He was born February 5, 1958 in Iaeger, WV a son of the late Tennis E. and Janice Riffe Jackson. Chess was a 1976 graduate of Baileysville High School. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Larry Jackson; his companion Susie Toler; and many aunts and uncles. Lawrence Thomas Evans, 67, of Crany, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his home. He was born January 27, 1947 in North Spring, WV, a son of the late William Marion and Tracy Mary Davis Evans. He was a 1964 graduate of Baileysville High School, a United States Navy Veteran, and a 1970 graduate of the West Virginia University Institute of Technology. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: William Ronald Evans and wife Fran and John Wesley Evans and wife Elaine; a sister Leatha Etta Peery and husband John; and an infant sister. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who was known for his incredible work ethic and quick sense of humor. He enjoyed relaxing and hunting with his brothers, extended family, and friends at his beloved cabin in Glady, WV and more recently reconnecting with a dear friend from the Navy, Barry Roederer, on fishing trips. A special highlight of each year was an annual picnic with high school friends from the Baileysville Class of 1964. Tom retired as a foreman for Peabody Coal Co. and fought a valiant battle against cancer for the past 25 years. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years Linda Cochran Evans; two daughters Angela Lynn (Michael) Grinsell of Fleming Island, FL, and Dr. Carmella Evans (Chad) Molina of Zionsville, IN; two sisters Diana Lynn Evans of Houston, TX, and Dale Ann (Jim) Morris of Columbia, SC; three brothers Roger Barry Hatfield of Logan, Dr. Winston Churchill (Patricia) Evans of West Palm Beach, FL, and Jerry Arnold (Shelia) Evans of North Spring; four grandchildren: Thomas Wesley Grinsell, Rebecca Lynn Grinsell, Olivia Lianne Molina, and Cameron Elise Molina; and a host of other loving family and friends. Joseph Anderson “Joe” Harvey, 84, of Lynco, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his home. He was born December 25, 1929 in Christian, WV, a son of the late William Calvin and Georgia Crabtree Harvey, Sr. He was a United States Navy Veteran and attended Toneda Missionary Baptist Church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include two daughters Dianna Sheryl Rhoads and husband Dale of Ft. Worth, TX and her children Paige Goff of Kopperston, WV and Allison Goff of Ft. Worth, TX and Valerie Jo Harkcom and husband Greg of Ft. Worth, TX and her children Troy Harkcom and Ryan Harkcom of Ft. Worth, TX; four great grandchildren Christopher, Zoe, Gabriel and Jacyln Goff; a sister-in-law Betty Harvey of Oceana, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends. James Edward Rollins, 65, of Ghent, WV, formerly of Oceana passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home. He was born November 27, 1948 in Oceana, WV a son of the late Ted Eugene and June Folds Rollins. James was a United States Army Veteran, member of the UMWA, and volunteered at the Beckley VAMC. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Delbert Rollins; three brothers Teddy Eugene Rollins, Billie Rollins, and Terry Rollins.
