John Burton Pizzino, Jr., 56, of McGraws, WV passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home. He was born July 7, 1957 in Pineville, WV a son of John Burton and Velma McGlothin Pizzino, Sr. of Glen Fork. John was a 1975 graduate of Glen Rogers High School and a retired coal miner. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years Edna Cheryl McMillion Pizzino of Glen Fork; a daughter Vanessa Daniel Pizzino of Glen Fork; two sons Jason Dewayne Pizzino of Danville, VA and Burton Dustin Pizzino of Glen Fork; two sisters Debrah Hargis of Skin Fork, and Pamela (Kenny) Atkins of NC; two brothers Danny (Glenda) Pizzino of Glen Fork, and Richard (Jan) Pizzina of KY; two grandchildren Jaina Faye Pizzino and Alaina Faith Nichols; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday March 14, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Bro. Gene Reed officiating. Garland Franklin Cook, 72, of Wyoming, WV passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 in Select Specialty Hospital, Charleston, WV. He was born June 1, 1941 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Joseph “Smokey” and Pearlie E. Helmandollar Cook. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Estel Cook; and an infant daughter Judy Ann Cook. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years Judy Gail Compton Cook of Wyoming; three sons James (Kecia Twynetta) Cook of Coal City, Joe Cook of Mt. Airy, NC, and David Cook of IN; a sister Mary Reed of Chicago, IL; four brothers Glen Cook, Harold Cook of OH, Clyde Cook of FL, and Gene Cook; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday March 22, 2014 at the Brenton Community Church, Brenton, WV, with Bro. Lonnie Compton officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Compton cemetery, Skin Fork, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9:00 PM on Friday March 21, 2014 at the church. Ruby Helen Linkous Fleenor, 87, of Kopperston, WV entered Heaven’s gates on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born February 20, 1927 in Cranes Nest, VA a daughter of the late Leonard and Minnie Johnson Linkous. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Carl Edward Fleenor, Sr.; a sister Ethel “Toots” Hilman; and a brother Bob Linkous. Ruby’s Kind and generous spirit made all around her feel special. She loved her family with all of her being, and her strength, grace, and dignity will be remembered by all who knew her. Ruby was of the Christian faith, and she was an angel who God allowed to walk with us. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Our hearts mourn her loss, but rejoice in knowing we will meet again. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving son Carl Edward (Bev) Fleenor, Jr. of Kopperston ; four sisters Marie Linkous of Clinchco, VA, Evelyn Saylers of Castlewood, VA, Bessie Castle of Castlewood, VA, and Gayneal (Jim) Skeens of Mt. Pleasant, TX; three brothers Herbert Linkous of Koperston, Charlie (Shirley) Linkous of Castlewood, VA, and Jerry Ray (Brenda) Linkous of Dante, VA; three grandchildren Anessia (Rich) Thomas, Brandon (Kristy) Fleenor, and Chris (Mandy) Fleenor; five great grandchildren Aly Fleenor, Jaeden Fleenor, Ian Thomas, Parker Thomas, and Mandolin; and Christian Fleenor Due on April 8, 2014; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday March 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. James Hamrick officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9:00 PM on Sunday March 23, 2014 at the funeral home. Daniel Lee "Poe" Blankenship, 42, of Skin Fork, WV passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014 at his home. He was born March 18, 1972 in Shelby, OH. Survivors include his mother Juanita Blankenship Hanshaw of Skin Fork; a son Brian Deion Blankenship of Meadow Bridge; a sister Jennifer Lorain Thomas of NC; a brother Kevin Joseph Hanshaw and his wife Jessica of Stacy Hollow; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with Danny’s wishes he will be cremated. There will be no public services. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Jason Harold Dillon, 37, of Kopperston, WV died suddenly Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at his home. He was born December 8, 1976 in Beckley, WV, and was a lifelong resident of Kopperston, WV. Jason was most proud of his employment on an ambulance team during which time he received National Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. Jason attended Delilah United Methodist Church and was a member of the choir. In 2013, he took membership in the church and rededicated his life to the Lord. He had an incredibly sharp memory and never forgot an occasion or date. He was very proud of family heritage and will be sadly missed by family and friends. Jason was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Lloyd E. Sr. and Inez Cook, paternal grandfather, Harold Z. Dillon, Father Samuel C. Dillon, and uncle, Jack Bailey. Family members still living include his mother, Jeannette Cook Dillon, Brother, Samuel Clay Dillon, nephew Samuel Konnor Dillon, Uncle, Charles L. Cook (Ann), all of Oceana, WV, Uncle Carlos W. Cook (Sharon) of Kingsport, Tennessee, uncle Lloyd E. Cook, Jr. (Kay) of Wichita, Kansas, paternal grandmother, Edna Mae Dillon of Kopperston, aunt Susan Dillon Lusk (Leon) of Kopperston of Kopperston, and uncle Harold Stephen Dillon (Kathy) of Gautier, Mississippi, along with many cousins who will miss him. He also leaves behind his beloved pets, Bella, Punkin, and Izzy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday March 29, 2014 at the Delilah United Methodist Church, Oceana, WV, with Pastor Stan Lowery officiating. Entombment services will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Jason will be placed to rest near his father. Friends may gather with the family from 1:00 PM until time of service on Saturday March 29, 2014 at the church. Pall bearers will be family and friends and Samuel Konnor Dillon will be honorary pall bearer. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Betty June Mounts Browning, 75, of Little Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born January 21, 1939 in Mohawk, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence and Pearlie Justice Mounts. Betty was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son Curtis “Bud” Browning, Jr.; a grandson Johnathan Browning; two brother’s Donald Mounts, and Luther Mounts; and a sister Charlene Mounts. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Curtis Browning of Little Creek; a daughter Delores (Larry) Arbogast of Bluff City, TN; a son Randy (Tena) Browning of Fairdale; two sisters Eunice Stone of Charleston, and Billie (Roger) Cline of Smith Mountain, VA; three grandchildren Holly (Steven) Trent, Natasha (John) Cook, and Cory (Alina) Browning; seven great grandchildren Kameron, Konnor, Kahne, Charley, Julian, Maricel, and Aja; a niece Tammy (Johnny) Vanover; and a nephew Roger Cline, Jr.; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday March 29, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Pastor Jackie Grimmett officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 10:00 AM until time of service on Saturday March 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Alvin Cole, 83, of Lillydale, WV passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at his home. Alvin was born November 27, 1930 in Sunhill, WV, a son of the late Troy and Vera Tilley Cole. He was a retired coal miner and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. His wife of 58 years, Geneva Blankenship Cole, also preceded him in death in 2009, along with a son Troy Lance Cole and a brother Clarence Cole. Survivors include a daughter Betty Jean Cline and husband Rocky of Oceana; two sons Marvin Cole and wife Rhonda of Lillydale and Ivan Cole and wife Toni of Kopperston; six grandchildren Troy Lance Berta, Aaron Stafford, Logan Cole, Melinda Cline, Stephanie Gibson and Nevaeh Cole; two great grandchildren Candace Gibson and Tyler Gibson; three great great grandchildren Tarrin Perry, Matthew Bailey and Jaiden Lusk; two sisters Juanita Cook of Crouches Farm and Janis Perry of Lillyhaven; a very special companion Helen Cline of Sunhill; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday April 1, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, with Rev. James Walker officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. Margie Ellen Neace Allen, 86, of Jesse, WV passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014following a battle with cancer. She was born April 16, 1927 in Dehue in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Frank Albert and Ethel Lowe Neace. Margie was a Christian lady and prayed to her Lord and Savior to take her home when the pain was more than she could bear. She was a gardner and enjoyed working in her flowers. This year she will be planting flowers in a better land. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 ½ years Woodrow Wilson Allen; seven sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include a son Craig (Kathy) Allen of Glen Daniels; a granddaughter Amy Allen of Glen Daniels; a sister Ernestine Francis (Andy) Zies of Chicago, IL; two brothers Ralph (Donna) Neace of Chicago, IL, and James (Barbara) Neace of Kistler; special nieces Alice Sue Brown and Doris Marie Arthur both of Mt. Jackson, VA, Rose Morgan of Kistler, Sissy Cook- Lamb and Linda Brown Bryson both of Oceana; and a host of other loving family and friends. Heartfelt thanks to extra special friends Kristy and Jeremy Tolliver and James Justice of Big Justice Construction for all you’ve done to help Margie. Thanks to the gravediggers, Jeff Hash and Jeremy Tolliver. Thanks to the pallbearers, Pinelodge Nursing Home, Raleigh General Hospital, and Appalachian Regional Hospital and all their workers. Grant Bailey, 90, of Oceana, WV passed away Monday, March 31, 2014. Grant was born July 3, 1923 in Panther, WV, a son of the late Flem and Lovini Roberts Bailey. He answered his country’s call during World War II, by joining the US Army and serving in the South Pacific. After that he went to work in the coal mines until retirement. In addition to his parents his loving wife of 67 years Pearl Church Bailey. Those left to cherish his memory include a son Larry Bailey and wife Joyce of Oceana; three daughters Jane Morgan and husband Marvin of Belleview Fl, Joyce Asbury and husband Falous of King George, VA and Judy Pinson and husband Rob of Beckley; seven grandchildren Jennifer Brooks, Jodie Bailey, Daniel Bailey, Jamie Morgan, Timothy Morgan, Amy Jill Marden and Jobe Thornsbury; eleven great grandchildren Clay, Morgan and Faith Brooks; Peyton, Madison and Jasmine Morgan; Ava and Zachery Bailey; Gabby Stacy, Jack and Dylan Marden; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday April 4, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home with Rev. Algie Cook officiating. Grant will be laid to rest beside his loving wife in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Military rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and love they showed toward Mr. Bailey. Randall Wayne Brown, Sr., 42, of Ravencliff, WV passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born August 19, 1971 in Beckley, WV a son of Patricia Ann Morgan Brown of Ravencliff, and the late William Theodore Brown. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a brother Timmy Joe Brown; and a niece Tabathia Bailey. Survivors include his mother Patricia Ann Morgan Brown of Ravencliff; a daughter Sarah Justice of Pineville; three sons Daniel Justice, DJ Justice, and Randall W. Brown, Jr. all of Pineville; two sisters Deborah Kay Plumley of Beckley, and Sherl Bailey of Oceana; four brothers Ricky William Brown of NC, William Theodore Brown, Jr., Andy Jack Brown, Sr., and Robert Dale Brown all of Ravencliff; one grandson; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at Noon on Wednesday April 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. He will be laid to rest in the Brown cemetery, Ravencliff, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Crystal Dawn Franklin Harmon, 38, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday April 5, 2014 at her home. She was born September 15, 1975 in Madison, WV, a daughter of the late John and Meloney Marie Castle Franklin, Sr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her a brother Gregory Dean Castle, a sister Pamela Carol Franklin and a niece Ashley Marie Franklin. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two brothers John Franklin, Jr. and Kirby Eugene Franklin both of Logan; an aunt Phyllis Castle of Kansas; eight nephews and nieces Brian Keith Franklin, Everett Cottrell, Gordon Dale Castle, Elyssa Alley Franklin, Isaiah Jacob Franklin, Caylan Dawn Franklin, Page Lynn Franklin and Halli Ray Franklin; and a host of other loving family and friends. She will be cremated and there will be no public services. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Kaula Marrie Acord, 24, of Oceana, WV passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at her home. She was born September 17, 1989 in Beckley, WV a daughter of Clifford Hale Acord and Esther Mae Lester Acord. She was a loving daughter, sister and friend. Survivors include her father Clifford Hale Acord and wife Lori of Kopperston; her mother Esther Mae Lester Acord of Hatcher; three sisters Kristy McKenzie of Oceana, Paula Calhoun of Childersburg, AL and Jessica Crouse of Kopperston; a brother Joseph Jude of Sabine; and a host of other loving family and friends.
