Sharon Gaye Grimmett Walls, 57, of Hanover, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. She was born December 2, 1956 in Man, WV a daughter of the late Teddy Ray and Lettie Pearl Ellis Grimmett. Sharon was a member of the Hanover House of Faith. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a granddaughter Brooklyn Dawn Belcher; two brothers Gary Grimmett and Eugene Grimmett; and a sister Patricia Grimmett. Survivors include her daughter Melissa Dawn (Michael) Belcher of Hanover; two sons Teddy Reese (Charissa) Walls of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kyle Arlin (Triston) Layne of Hanover; six grandchildren Heather Hatfield, Zack Hatfield, Keaton Walls, Kennedy Walls, Hayley Layne, and Bentley Layne; four sisters Shelby Ellis of Bruno, Reba Mitchell of Bruno, Wanda Gibson of Landville, and Cora Deflumeri of Man; five brothers Sherman (Margaret) Grimmett of Christian, Jackie (Sherri) Grimmett of Christian, Dallas (Teresa) Grimmett of Bruno, Terry Grimmett of Man, and Arlon (Joan) Grimett of Bruno; a sister-in-law Karen Grimmett of Accoville; and a host of other loving family and friends. Homer Admiril Chambers, 76, of Princeton, WV, formerly of Clear Fork, WV passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at his home. He was born March 20, 1937 in Clear Fork, WV a son of the late Dewey Admiril, and Stella Blankenship Chambers. Homer was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church for many years until moving to Mercer County where he attended the Roger Street Community Church in Princeton. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters. Survivors include a daughter Belinda Chambers Putorek and husband Ronnie of Athens, WV; a son Homer Jerome Chambers of Princeton, WV; two grandchildren Summer Putorek, and Sawyer Putorek; a sister Anna Sue Kitts of Anderson, SC; a brother Christopher Columbus Chambers and wife Francis of Cyclone, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends. Darrell C. Addair, 65, of Brier Creek, WV, went home to heaven on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV. He was born November 13, 1948 in Garland, WV a son of the late Leck and Glenna Coleman Addair. Darrell attended the Brenton Baptist Church and House of Refuge. Kim Marie Tilley Dishmon, 46, of Ravencliff, WV passed away Monday, April 14. She was born September 21, 1968 in Beckley, WV, a daughter of the Teddy Tilley of Ravencliff and the late Ollie Mae Holhouser Tilley. Kim attended the Pine Grove Baptist Church, she enjoyed being with her family, going to flea markets, collecting cast iron and playing with Reese and Butter her two dogs. In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by her grandparents Mildred Shumate and Dan and Lena Tilley; and her twin brother Eddie “Bert” Tilley. James Edward Cook, 46, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born November 6, 1967 in Man, WV a son of Eugene Herman Cook of Holly Hills and the late Juanita Farley Cook. He was a member of the Brothers of the Wheel – Southland, and while he was growing up attended the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. James loved NASCAR Races, the Dallas Cowboys, trips to the Lugar Farm with Rick and Mark to hunt, and his job as a mine foreman. He was a big family man, had a strong belief in God and helping others when they were in need. James loved going on motorcycle rides with his brother-in-law Tim Morgan. He loved to fish and his favorite spot was Smith Mountain Lake. James was a 1986 graduate of Oceana High School, he loved football, he was a member of the 1986 Second Team WV Class AA All State Football team, First Team All Coalfield, First Team All South and was defensive MVP of the 1986 AT&T All Star Football Game. He also played basketball for Oceana High and they advanced to the 1986 WV Class AA State Basketball Tournament. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by a sister Karen Curley; a brother Jeff Cook; and a nephew Taylor Braxton Cook. Survivors include his loving wife, soul mate, and best friend of 20 years Anita Yvonne Morgan Cook; his father Eugene Herman Cook of Holly Hills; two daughters Cindy (JR) Cook of Carthage, NC, and Amy Lusk of Sun Hill; his granddaughter and sidekick Taylor “Punkin” Williams; a son Bobby Lusk of Oceana; a sister Kelli (Chris) Roach of Bassett, VA; a brother John (Ashley) Cook of Oceana; best friend and “Brother” Rick Stacy; several nieces and nephews who he dearly loved; and a host of other loving family and friends. Wilma Sue Justice, 57, of Panther, WV, departed this world and ascended to a place of joy and eternal holiness on Friday, April 19, 2014 at CAMC General, Charleston, WV. She was born May 15, 1956 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Hayse and Effie Marie Roberts Justice. She was a jolly woman, wearing a wide smile across her face every time you visited her. She valued her family over anything else. She may have left this world but she will never truly be gone She shall stay in everyone’s heart that met her. Graydon Proctor Lyons, 90, of Crouches Farm, WV, went to be with Jesus Tuesday April 22, 2014 at his home. He was born on March 15, 1924 in Inez, KY, a son of the late Harm D. and Plurie Jane Lyons. Graydon lived most of his life in Wyoming County, and he was loved and respected by family members, church members and by the community. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all he enjoyed his church. He will be sadly missed by everyone. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step mom Vernie Lyons; four brothers; a sister; a son Kennith Graydon Lyons; and a daughter Mary Ellen Lyons. Betty Jo Cook Bailey, 64, of Crany WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born September 19, 1949 in Kopperston, WV a daughter of the late Dewey and Virginia Billings Cook. She was an active member of the Lillyhaven Baptist Church, where she served the Lord and loved her church family. She is preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Virginia Billings Cook. Those left to cherish her memory, is her loving husband of 37 years Avary Bailey; a daughter Leslie and her husband Rev. Scott Kennedy of Glen Daniels; son Jason Bailey and his wife Roncheski of Crany; two granddaughters Ella and Olivia Bailey both of Crany who she loved and adored very much; two brothers Rev. Algie R. James Dennie “Chico” Osborne, 54, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday April 26, 2014 at his home of natural causes. He was born June 26, 1959 in Logan, WV a son of Tommy Cline of Oceana, and the late Gertie Faye Cline. Chico was of the Baptist Faith. He was quiet, and a good hearted man who had made it right with God and is awaiting his loved ones in heaven. He was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, a disabled coal miner with 20 years in various mines. He was a 1977 graduate of Oceana High School, and a member of the UMWA. In addition to his Mother he is preceded in death by his grandparents Sanford and Josie Osborne; father-in-law Lacy Davis; two nephews Brett Gibson and Chad Davis; and a niece Brianna Gibson Pizzino. She loved to can food, sew and work for the Lord in the churches that her husband pastored in over the last 37 years.
