Patsy R. Blankenship Benjamin, 72, Oceana WV, passed away on Saturday July 12, 2014, at Bowers Hospice House Beckley, WV. She was born October 20, 1941 a daughter of the late Bruce and Josie Acord Blankenship. Patsy was saved and of the Pentecostal faith and a graduate of the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology. She is preceded in death by her first born child Jeanie Alaine Looney; brothers Robert, Sam, and Holland Blankenship, and Bill Cook; sisters Margie Rowe, and Geneva Cole. Survivors include a daughter Karen and Lewis Riffe of Oceana; three sons Dan Blankenship of Findley, OH, Samuel and Sheila Looney of Sharpsburg, GA, and Joseph Looney of Findley, OH; a sister Kathleen Hatfield of Coal Mountain; ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren that she loved dearly; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday July 16, 2014, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Pastor Bill Stewart officiating. Eddie “Etta” Mae Perdieu, 64, of Ravencliff, WV passed away on Saturday July 12, 2014 at her home. She was born May 15, 1950 a daughter of the late Clyde and Ocie Stacy Blankenship. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three sisters; and six brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Larry Perdieu; two daughters Angie and Hollie Bailey of Sabine, and Cathy and Robert Redden of Ravencliff; a son Eugene Perdieu of Conover, NC; two grandsons Julice Perdieu and Devin Pennington; a sister Lois and Dennis Audet of Saulsville; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday July 14, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home Lynco, WV, with Rev. Ernest Francis officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM on Monday July 14, 2014 until time of the service at the funeral home. Douglas Walter “June Bug” Shelton, Jr., 44, of Green Camp, WV, passed away on Thursday July 10, 2014 at Welch Community Hospital. He was born October 21, 1969 in Welch, WV, a son of Douglas Walter Shelton, Sr. of Hinton, and Bertha Ella Johnston Dunford of Corrine. Douglas is a United States Marine Panama and Desert Storm Veteran, and a 1987 graduate of Baileysville High School. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Helen, and Quinton Johnston; an aunt Delilah Smith; and uncles Chad Johnston, and Orville Johnston. Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years Judy Curry Shelton; his mother Bertha Ella Johnston and Darrell Dunford of Corrine; his father Douglas Walter and Pam Shields Shelton, Sr. of Hinton; a son Douglas Quinton Shelton of the home; two sisters Jackie and Jay Aurand, and Vickie and Larry Acord; two brothers David and Melissa Dunford of NC, and Darren Dunford of NC; four nieces Tanya, Tara, Diedra, and Alexis; two nephews Dustin and Jacob; a brother-in-law Donny and Nicole Curry; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at The Mill Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Brenton, WV, with Rev. Norman Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Johnston cemetery at Shannons Mill Creek, Brenton, WV. Friend may gather with the family from 10:00AM until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Randall Junior Green, 57, Lynco, WV, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Saturday July 12, 2014, at his home. He was born October 27, 1956 in Bim, WV, a son of the late Arlin and Violet Faye McClanahan Green. Randall attended the Pentecostal House of Prayer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Tina Marie Green; step father Charles McClanahan; brothers Kenneth, Rick, and Bobby Green; and a sister Truby Green Carper. Survivors include his loving wife and companion of 34 years Patty S. Belcher Green; a daughter Suzie Adkins of Clay County; two sons Jonathan “Jo Jo” Green and Gordon Cline of the home; four sisters Barbara and Joe Dempsey of Sunhill, and Kimberly Daugherty of Oceana, Janice and Robert Graham of Bluewell, and Alice and Homer Toler of Cedar Creek; four brothers Jimmy Green of Huff Creek, Lester Green of Lynco, Dewey McClanahan of Pineville, and David and Donna McClanahan of Clear Fork; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday July 17, 2014, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Jay Blankenship officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hatfield cemetery, Little Creek, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9:00 PM on Wednesday July 16, 2014, at the funeral home. David Patrick Francis, 52, of Jesse, WV, passed away after a short illness on Friday July 11, 2014 at the Brody Mine in Boone County. He was born June 28, 1962 in Welch, WV, a son of Irene Lumbo Francis and the late Eugene Bradley Francis. Pat was a 1980 graduate of Glen Rogers High School. He worked at Brody Mines in Boone County where he was a faithful and dedicated employee. On his off time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Bradley Francis. Survivors include his two sons David Bradley Francis of Glen Fork, and Mathew Francis of Ravencliff; his mother Irene Lumbo Francis of Jesse; three brothers Clarence and Joanna Francis of Bolt, Mike and Sandy Francis of Bolt, and Joe Francis of Sabine; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM Tuesday July 15, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev. Ernest Francis officiating. Committal services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-8:00 PM on Tuesday July 15, 2014, at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Vonnie Jean Curry, 77, of Oceana, WV formerly of Cyclone was welcomed into Heaven on Friday July 18, 2014 in McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gary, WV. She was born March 29, 1937 in Mallory, WV, a daughter of the late David and Goldie Haynes and wife of the late Grathel Curry. Vonnie was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved singing and sharing her faith with others. Although dementia tried to steal her memory, it could not steal her love for The Lord. She remembered every word to the gospel songs she sang until the very end and could finish scriptures discussed during conversations. In addition to her loving husband and parents she is preceded in death her sisters Lona Bell Hall of Ocala, FL, Virginia Allen of Man, Joann Terry of Grandview, and Velma Stines of Morgantown; her brothers Avery Haynes of Davin, and James Haynes of Oceana; great granddaughter Madison McNeely of Taplin. Survivors include her daughter Debra Curry-Davis and husband Jeff of Kopperston; two sons Jerry Curry of Dunnellon, FL, and Randy Curry and his wife Terri of Taplin, WV; five grandchildren Garrett, Jeremy, and Adam Davis, Angela Curry, and Erica Perry; three great grandchildren Ariel, Harley, and Keylee Moore; a sister Francis King of Iaeger; a brother Franklin Haynes of Morriston, FL; an extended family at McDowell County Continuous Care in Gary, WV where she was treated like an angel on earth. A celebration of Vonnie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday July 22, 2014, in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Pastor Russell King officiating. Burial will follow in Cook cemetery, Cyclone, WV. Friends may gather with the family from noon until service time at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Betty Ann Claypool Cook, 85, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014. She was a native of Pearisburg, Va. and was the daughter of the late John and Virginia B. Claypool. She was retired from Wyoming County Board of Education and taught in the Oceana School System and was a member of White Marsh Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ronald Lee Cook. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Morgan and Ginny Ellis, grandchildren Jennifer Knowles, Jason Knowles, Devon Rowan, Lauren Rowan and Josh Rowan; and two great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. A memorial service will be held in White Marsh Baptist Church, Gloucester, VA at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 1881, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, Va. and Stafford Family Funeral Home, Oceana, WV are serving the family.

Calvin Lonnie Vance, 78, Oceana West Virginia passed away Saturday July 19th 2014 at a nursing home in Princeton WV. Lonnie was born January 17, 1935 in Logan County, WV a son of the late Cylde and Nava Toler Vance. He was a retired coal miner. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ardney Vance, a daughter Yvette Lester, her husband Freddie Lester, and their infant daughter Amber Lester; an infant great grandson Christian Livingston, his parents Clyde and Nava Toler Vance, and younger brother Jerry Vance. He is survived by two sons Steven Vance of Oceana and Johnny and Tina Vance of Pineville; three daughters Florence and Freddy Belcher of Man, Dolly Hendricks of Man, and Yvonne and Greg Belcher of Oceana; and a granddaughter and caregiver Ashley and Roy Trent of Lester; six brothers Johnny Joe Vance of Beech Island SC, James Vance of Hanover, Eddie Vance of New Richmond, Ted Vance of Beech Island SC, Sam Vance of Brier Creek, and Tommy Vance of Brier Creek; five sisters Helen Lester of Verner, Linda Wallace of Mansfield OH, Carol Vance of Sturgis MI, Judy Vance of Sturgis MI, and Rosemary Santos of Sturgis MI; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a special Uncle Wayman "Sport" Toler; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2014 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. In Keeping with his wishes he will be cremated following the services. He will be resting with his loving wife Ardney at Goode Family cemetery in Cabin Creek, New Richmond, WV. Vickie Lynn Osborne, 50, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord after a battle with cancer on Sunday July 27, 2014 at her home. She was born July 3, 1964 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Raymond Lee Workman and Joyce Ann Lusk Bailey. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a grandson Liam Jase Story. Survivors include her loving husband Harvey Osborne of Cyclone; a daughter Kellie Osborne and companion Sean Story of Man; a son PFC David Matney of Okinawa, Japan; four sisters Angie and Preston Kennedy of Brenton, Lenore and Kevin McKinney of Oceana, Tammy Watts of Stanleytown, VA, and Tonya Workman of Bassett, VA; three brothers Jimmie and Becky Workman of Sugar Grove, Raymond Dale and Jennifer Workman of Oceana, and Orville Workman and companion Jessica Maynor of Cyclone; step parents Darrell and Dewanna Bailey of Cyclone; a step mother Regina Workman of Cyclone; special sister- in-law Ethel Watts of Cyclone who was also her best friend and caregiver; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at the Cyclone Church of God, Cyclone, WV, with Rev. Kevin McKinney officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Brown’s cemetery, Cyclone, WV. Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at the church. Johnny Earl Cook, 62, of Campus, WV, passed away on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at his home. He was born February 23, 1952 in Cyclone, WV a son of the late Rush and Alma Paynter Cook. He was a retired coal miner having last worked at Harris Mine in Boone County, was a member of the UMWA Local 1503 and a member of the Campus Church of God and a 1970 graduate of Oceana High School. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving daughter Kristi Marie Cook, three brothers Acie, Jimmy and Paul Cook, two infant brothers and an infant sister. Johnny was an assistant coach to his nephew Coach Jamie Lusk for the Westside High School Girls Basketball team since the school opened. He was instrumental in helping them to two WV State AA Championships and a state Runner-up in the last three years. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years Ohlene Diane Bragg Cook; four sisters Francis and Harless Shumate of Glen Fork, Mary Jewell and Neil Queen, Donna and Lanta Lusk and Dorothy and Lowell Cook all of Cyclone; a brother Jack R. Cook of Summersville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday August 1, 2014 in the Campus Church of God with Pastor Michael Dent and Rev. Roger Stewart officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Paynter Family cemetery, Campus, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Westside High School Girls Basketball team at Westside High School, Clear Fork, WV 24822. Patsy "Patty" Birchfield, 53, of North Spring, WV, departed this life on Wednesday July 30, 2014 and entered a new life with her savior. She was born April 27, 1961 in War Eagle, WV, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Mildred Hunt Manuel. Patty was very kind, generous, and hard-working. She loved helping others and making their days brighter. She also loved gardening, cooking, and is well known for her cakes and candy. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Leonard Birchfield; and a niece Holly Justus. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Jamie and Adam Daughtery of North Spring, and Robert "Rocky" and Sarah Asbury of Isaban; two grandsons Jacob Daugherty, and Noah Asbury Chaney of Corpus Christi, TX; step grandchildren that she thought so much about Jordan and McKensie Birchfield, and Erica, Savannah, and Terrence Sexton; a brother Ralph and Patty Manuel of Bull Creek; four sisters Ruth Justus who cared for her in her final days, Teresa Darlene and Shawn Hunt of Morgantown, Kathy and Scott Justice of Mud Fork, and Sandy "Ranzie" Mathews of Fayetteville, NC; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Isaban Church of God, Isaban, with Rev. David Babbit, and Pastor Ryan Seabolt officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Allen cemetery, Bull Creek, WV. Friends may gather with the family on Saturday August 2, 2014 from 6-9:00 PM at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
