Billy Ray Vance, Jr., 42, of Kopperston, WV, passed away on Wednesday July 30, 2014 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born April 18, 1972 in Man, WV, a son of Billy Ray Vance of Kopperston, and Irene Browning Vance of Hampton, VA. Billy was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and dear friend. He will be sadly missed by lots of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Homer M. and Sarah Dempsey Vance; maternal grandparents Joe and Hazel Browning; a grandson Landan Adkins; two aunts Linda Short and Phyllis Elswick; an uncle Homer Vance, Jr.; and cousin Rebecca Varney. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 2 years Jaime Walk Vance of Kopperston; his father Billy and Margaret Vance of Kopperston; his mother Irene Vance of Hampton, VA; four sisters Peggy Vance of Wheeling, Alisha Gibson, Cynthia Toler, and Crystal Samson all of Kopperston; a brother Randall Vance of Charleston; three children Matthew Vance of Mobile, AL, Patricia Kay Brown of Cyclone and Jeremy Daniels of Cyclone, and step-children Taylor Walk of Kopperston, Levi Stewart of Jacksonville, NC, and Betty Whitman of Cleveland, OH; aunts Alice Shumate of Hampton, VA, and Mary Waldin of Logan, Helen McGarvey and Christina Samson both of Kistler; uncles Ricky Vance of Kopperston, Jimmy Vance of Davin, and Johnny Vance of Omar; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday August 2, 2014 at the Toler Missionary Baptist Church, Campus, WV, with Rev. Bill Browning and Rev. Nathan Vance officiating. In keeping with Billy's wishes he will be cremated following the service. Friends may gather with the family on Friday August 1, 2014 from 6-9:00 PM at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Dorothy Jean Borders Plumley, 83, of Kopperston, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday August 1, 2014 at her home. She was born November 3, 1930 in Richardson, KY, a daughter of the late Wallace and Lois Borders. Dorothy was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church and Ladies Aide. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Johnny Borders; and an infant son. Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years Beecher Wilson Plumley of Kopperston; two sons Beecher Dewayne and Lillian Kay Plumley of Clear Fork, and Michael Anthony and Susan Diane Plumley of Bluefield; six grandchildren Danielle and Elbert Watts of Statesville, NC, Nicholas and Dessire Plumley of Claremont, NC, Aaron and Christy Plumley of Oceana, Elisabeth and Tracy Coppola of Morgantown, Kate and Joshua Sizemore of Bluefield, and Victoria Plumley of Bluefield; four great grandchildren Emma Watts, and Ethan Watts all of Statesville, NC, Allyson Plumley, and Grayson Plumley all of Oceana; two brothers Wallace and Juanita Borders of Richardson, KY, and Billy and Lena Borders of Orange Heights, FL; a sister-in-law Rose Mary Borders of Richardson, KY; special friends that gave her a lot of time and friendship Linda Lambert and Nadean Ford; and a host of loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday August 4, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Pastor Jackie Grimmett officiating. Timothy Edward Lane, 37, of Brenton, WV passed away on Friday August 1, 2014. He was born November 28, 1976 in Grundy, VA a son of the late Charles Edward and Janet Stacy Lane. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Edward and Janet Lane. Survivors include his fiance' Penny Malone of Brenton; three sisters Tammy Holcomb of Hanover, Caritta Lane of Hanover, and Sarah Lane of Pineville; two brothers Charles Lane of Hanover, and David and Adrienne Lane of Richmond; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday August 7, 2014 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. He will be laid to rest in Lane Family cemetery, Brenton, WV. Gary David "Stick" Miller, 64, of Campus, WV, entered the arms of Jesus, on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born March 18, 1950 in Campus, WV, a son of the late Aubrey and Grace Paynter Miller. Gary was a member of the UMWA, NRA, and AARP. He was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant daughter Geneva Miller; and a sister Mavis Presley. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years Janice Pearl Maynor Miller, of Cyclone; a daughter Gracie and Barry Hare of Neibert; a son Gary "Bay" and Katie Miller of Cyclone; five sisters Sharon Blankenship of VA, Dorothy Eldridge of Cyclone, Linda and Ben Kephart of TN, Kathy and Gary Eldridge of NC, and Ella Eldridge of VA; a brother Stanley and Janet Miller of Cyclone; a half brother Big June and Vicky Miller of Cyclone; six grandchildren Shauntae, Tiea, Junior, Gavin, Raegan, and Kinley; and a host of other loving family and friends. Edward Ross Osborne, 63, of Cyclone, WV, passed away on August 20, 2014 in Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. He was born June 27, 1951 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the late Sester and Eva Christine Lusk Osborne. Ross was the vice president of the Cyclone Trophy Club, a member of the Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of the UMWA. He worked 22 1/2 years in the coal mines, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ralston, and Zona Osborne; and his maternal grandparents Edward and Ella Lusk. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years Stella Watts Osborne; a daughter Julie White and her husband Charles ; two grandsons CJ and Justin White; three brothers David and Coretta Osborne, Randall and Deloris Osborne, and Harvey Osborne; three sisters Ethel and Boe Watts, Delma and Gary Paynter, and Tanecia Osborne; a mother-in-law Magdalene Watts; four brother-in-laws Jimmy and Wanda Watts, Boe and Ethel Watts, Deke and Gail Watts, and Jackie and Lesha Watts; three sister-in-laws Bobbie Daniels, Kathy Watts, and Jill Watts; two special nephews Dalton Watts and Michael Lingerfelt; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends. Coy Andrew Lusk, 72, of Glen Fork, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2014 in Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born January 19, 1942 in Marianna, WV a son of the late Robert Stacy and Mary Belle Mullins Lusk. Coy is a member of the UMWA, a Untied States Army Veteran, and attends the Truth Assembly Church in Glen Fork. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Pearl Steele, Gladys Morgan, and Arbutus Mullins. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years Connie Sue Brown Lusk of Glen Fork; a daughter Patricia and Stephen Tate of Glen Fork; two sons Coy and Betty Jo Lusk, Jr., and Christopher and Jessica Lusk all of Glen Fork; two sisters Betty and Jimmy Smith of Crab Orchard, and Opal Warren of Martinsville; five brothers Boyd Lusk and his companion Glenna of Matheny, Ralph and Alice Lusk of Princeton, Dale and Sandy Lusk of Bolt, Robert Lusk and his companion Missy of Coal Mountain, and Albert and Linda Lusk of Matheny; six grandchildren Kevin Cole, Shaina Sumpter, Matiya Lusk, Natasha and Cody Acord, Heather Lusk, and Danielle Lusk; and a host of other loving family and friends. Betty Mae Duffy Gibson, 65, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on August 21, 2014 in Bower's Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born September 6, 1948 in Virginia, a daughter of the late Owen and Elsie Osborne Duffy. In addition to her parents she is preceded in by a brother Johnny Duffy; a sister Peggy Osborne; a son Jeremy Gibson; and a granddaughter Tressie Fox. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 45 years Herbert Gibson; two sons Herbert and Dawn Gibson, Jr. of Matheny, and Timothy Gibson and companion Vicky of Turkey Dip; two sisters Frankie and Gene Blankenship of Cyclone, and Delores and Randall Osborne of Beaver; a brother Owen and Betty Duffy of Cyclone; nine grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Wanda Lee Mullins Marcum, 61, of Warfield, KY, passed away on August 19, 2014, in Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. She was born on July 24, 1953 in Welch, WV, a daughter of the late Dayton and Laura Bell Kennedy Mullins. Juanita Faye Thacker May, 70, of Ceredo, WV, left this life to be with our Lord on Friday August 22, 2014. She was born September 5, 1943 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Leo and Charlene Staley Thacker. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 53 years David K. May Sr.; her brother and sister-in-law Jennings and Ann Thacker; and a dear granddaughter Allison Ann May. She is survived by her five children Pamela May of Ceredo, David and Helen May of Indiana, Rob and Brenda May, Russell and Jennifer May, and Thomas and Angie May all of Huntington; nine grandchildren Keifer May, Joseph May, Bobby May, Jared May, Edan May, Daniel May, Justin Hogsett, Zac May, and Kaitlin May; a sister Linda and Joe Stajnrajh of Carmicheals, PA; two brothers Dallas and Jean Thacker of Lavalette, and Ralph and Patty Thacker of Shinnston; as well as a host of other loving family and friends. Lawrence Dale Dixon, 65, of Beckley, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 24, 2014. He was born January 9, 1949 in Oceana, WV, a son of the late Lawrence M. and Edith Justice Dixon. Lawrence was a proud 1980 graduate of WVU and a 1984 graduate of WV Institute of Technology. He also taught at Tech and Bluefield State College in Bluefield. He worked at the WVU Department of Mining and Engineering Industrial Partnerships. Lawrence was an avid racket ball player and biker. He was a Christian and attended Turkey Ridge Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Cheryl Lynn Compton Dixon; two sons Kristopher Adam and Sarah Dixon of Huddleston, VA, and Edward Alexander Dixon of Beckley; a daughter Sandra Dixon Welch of Westford, MA; a sister Diane and Ronnie Meadows of Moneta, VA and children Cody, Ashley, and Isabella all of Moneta, VA; a brother Richard and Ann Dixon of Oceana and children Chad Dixon of Hendersonville, NC, Calen, Zeb, and Carmen Dixon, Roncheski Bailey and family all of Oceana; a granddaughter Anibeth Dixon; two step granddaughters Kayla and Bethany Asbury; and a host of other loving family and friends. Jesse Wayne Eldridge, 40, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born January 17, 1974 in Man, WV the son of Audy Ray Eldridge and Dorothy Lee Miller Eldridge. He was a heavy equipment mechanic. Preceding him in death are his grandparents Aubrey and Gracie Miller and Jefferson Eldridge, an aunt Mavis Presley and cousins Spud Gillespie, Geneva Miller and David Eldridge. Survivors include his daughter Chloe Havin Eldridge; mother Dorothy Lee Miller Eldridge of Cyclone; father Audy Ray Eldridge of King, NC; wife Rebecca Mae Ellis of Cyclone; grandmother Bonnie Eldridge and step grandmother Lula Pearl Miller; special friends Steve Adkins, Junior Adkins, Gary Dwight "Baye" Miller and William Maynor; several aunts and uncles and a host of other loving family and friends.
