Calvert C. Stewart, 76, of Matheny, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at CAMC Memorial, Charleston, WV. He was born on April 20, 1939 in Jesse, WV a son of the late Herndon Paris Stewart and Virginia Stewart Daniels. Calvert is a member of the Matheny Church of God and the UMWA for 40 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Peggy Toler, Katherine Dishmon and Wanda Grindstaff. Those left to cherish his memories are his living wife of 55 years Virginia Gail Dunford Stewart; two sons Kenneth Stewart and Franklin (Debbie) Stewart all of Matheny; a brother Frank Stewart of Pooler, GA; two grandsons Clinton Keith (Megan) Stewart and Michael Adam Stewart; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 15, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Jerry Graham and Rev. Tom Perry officiating. He will be laid to rest in Dunford cemetery, Jumping Branch, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the funeral home. Vonda Pearl Rafter, 71, of Glen Fork, WV, Formerly of Buffalo Creek, WV passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born on January 12, 1944 in Lorado, WV, a daughter of the late Frank Lusk and Minnie Pearl Gibson Huffman. Vonda was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband Jinks Dotson; three sisters Lorain Brown, Sandy Huffman and Virginia Huffman; two brothers Oakey Osborne and Arthur Huffman; and a son Virgil C. Osborne. Survivors include her husband of eleven years James Edward Rafter of Oceana; three daughters Mindy Dotson Jarrell of Oceana, Ida (Charles) Bailey of Fairdale and Kay Gobbler of Arkansas; a son Keith D. (Kathy) Osborne of Buffalo Creek; two sisters Carolyn Huffman of Mullens and Sharon Huffman of Wheeling; two brothers Michael (Leslie) Huffman of Saulsville and Junior Clayton Huffman of Glen Daniels; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Ernest Francis officiating. She will be laid to rest in Allen cemetery, Bull Creek, WV. Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the funeral home. Ricky Frazier, 56, of Sabine, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on November 4, 1958 in Beckley, WV, a son of the late Hubert L. and Hydrith Price Frazier. Ricky is a member of the Well Worship Center. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Danny Ray Frazier. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 36 years Rose Mary Tilley Frazier; two daughters Meranda (Jimmy) Matheny of Beckley and Christy (Scotty) Dishmon of Glen Fork; a sister Sherry (Billy) Pennington of Sabine; a brother Charles (Etta) Frazier of VA; four grandchildren Hunter Frazier, Aaliyah Dishmon, Madison Matheny and Logan Dishmon; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Bro. Jeff Green officiating. He will be laid to rest in Glen Fork Community cemetery, Glen Fork, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Connie Lee Hatfield West, 55, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 in Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV. She was born February 7, 1960 in Welch, WV, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Rose Evelyn Fowler Hatfield. She is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband Charles Edward West ; a daughter Cathy (Darrin) Justus of Jesse; a grandson Dawson Justus; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Karen Marie Lynn, 37, of Cyclone, WV, went on to meet the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at her home. She was born on May 11, 1978 in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Michelle Karen Sholtz Lynn. In addition to her parent she is preceded in death by a son John William Lynn. Survivors include her companion of 15 years Carmel Gibson, Sr. of Cyclone; a son Brandon Lynn of Cleveland, OH; a sister Mary Lynn Johnson of OH; a niece Maddie Johnson; a nephew Aaron Charistou; special friends Eugene and Sarah Coburn, Shauna and Bobby Peyton, and Lisa and Chet Clay all of Cyclone, Olivia and Greg Gibson-Godwin of Cleveland, OH and Carmel Gibson, Jr. of OH; and a host of other loving family and friends. Helen "Sis" Belcher Acord, 68, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2015 in Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton, WV. She was born on August 2, 1946 in Man, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest and Druzilla Hughes Belcher. Helen attended several different churches. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband James B. Acord; a brother Tom Belcher; and two grandsons Allen Grubb and Jeffery Musick. Survivors include five daughters Neva Acord of Oceana, Robin (David) Grubb of Falls Mills, VA, Yvonne "Heidi" Osborne of Cyclone, Kimberly (Eric) Stollings of Chapmanville, and Whisper Acord and Andy Cook of Virginia Beach; a son James B. "Hippie" (Debbie) Acord, Jr. of Oceana; three sisters Betty Lovins of Oceana, Alice Toler of Roanoke and Cindy Simpson of McGraw; two brothers David (Karen) Belcher of Lynco and Dall (Kathy) Belcher of Little Creek; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. James Walker officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of the service on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the funeral home. Delcia Natalee Buckland, 87, of Logan, WV, Formerly of Oceana, went to be with Jesus on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. She was born on February 12, 1928 in Keystone, WV, a daughter of the late George Early and Agatha Stafford. She attended the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Lillydale. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years Ronald Earl Buckland; three children Ronnie, Darlene and Richard Roy "Buck Wheat"; eight brothers George, Bill, Gene, Donald, Jack, Jim, John and Charles; two sisters Anna Ruth Sizemore and Naomi Stafford; three grandchildren John Wesly, Kimberly Hicks and Vanessa Diana; five nephews Michael, Jerry, Skippy, Timmy and Gregg Stafford; two nieces Debbie Stafford and Dreama Sizemore; a great granddaughter Kimberly Michele Carter; a son-in-law Shelby Roberts; a daughter-in-law Carol Faye Buckland. Survivors include her children Martha Roberts, Patricia (Clarence) Kirk with whom she made her home, Jackie Buckland and Vanessa Mae Buckland; three brothers Curtis (Christine) Stafford, David (Millie) Stafford and Bobby Joe (Kathy) Stafford; a sister Dora (Pete) Toler; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, Lillydale, WV with Bro Greg Brown officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family after 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Billy Joe Hammitt, 67, of Welch, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Richmond VAMC, Richmond, VA. He was born on June 1, 1948 in Warriormine, WV, a son of the late John Elmer and Esmon Williams Hammitt. Billy was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Billy Joe "BJ" Hammitt, Jr.; a sister Norma Jean East; two brothers Donald Burton and Johnny Hammitt, Jr. Survivors include a brother Allen (Margaret) Hammitt, Sr. of Fanrock; a sister-in-law Barbara Hammitt of Rockwood, TN; several nieces, nephews and a host other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and there will be graveside services. He will be laid to rest in Grandview Memorial cemetery, Tazewell, VA. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Matthew Kyle Brown, 33, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2015. He was born on February 16, 1982 in Beckley, WV, a son of Roger Kyle Brown of Baltimore, MD and Pamela Sue Prichard of Oceana. Matthew attended Oceana High School and was a gifted athlete throughout his school years in any sport he played. He also loved to hunt and fish. Matthew was generous, good hearted and a hard worker. He cried tears of joy the day he found out he was having a son. He loved spending time with his son Gage, playing basketball, throwing football, passing baseball, playing video games, and taking him fishing. His favorite thing to do was to watch his son play sports. His son was his whole world and as Matthew would often say, "My mini me, my world." He is preceded in death by two cousins Amy Brown and Adam Booher. In addition to his parents those left to cherish his memory include his son Damion "Gage" Brown of Pineville; a brother Keifer Brown of Baltimore, MD; a sister Amber Cline and her fiance' Travis Brunty of Clear Fork; grandparents Douglas "Mack" and Betty Jo Prichard, Gayle and Boots Brown all of Oceana and Linda Brown of Blue Ash, OH; five aunts Eva and Bill Vance of OK, Tonia Brown Toler of Blue Ash, Deandra "Dee" and David Ray of Beckley, Kim and Tony Toler of Lynco, Patricia "PJ" and Jamie Estep of Lynco; an uncle Ernie and Bobbi Jo Prichard of Eden, NC; a great aunt "Mamaw" Phyllis Valley of Oceana; lifelong special friend Travis Harvey; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Private funeral services will be held at a later date. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Emma Pearl Osborne Bailey, 71, of Cyclone, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Trinity Healthcare, Logan, WV. She was born on October 6, 1943 in Cyclone, WV, a daughter of the late James Willie and Cora Ellen Bailey Osborne. Emma attended the Bright Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years Roger Lee Bailey; three sons Scotty Bailey, Kenny Bailey and Steven Roger Bailey; a grandson Matthew Adkins; a sister Gertrude Lusk; three brothers Wannie Osborne, Sweetie Vaughn Osborne and Cletus Osborne. Survivors include three daughters Debbie (Darrell) Toler, Gloria (Earl) Adkins and Cora Michelle McCoy all of Cyclone; two sisters Dovie Lusk and Fannie (Bill) Rollins all of Cyclone; two brothers Stewart (Sarah) Osborne of VA and Landy (Margaret) Osborne of Matheny; eleven grandchildren Nicholus, Steve, Stephanie, Darrell, Jr., Crustal, Jordan, Angel, Mark, Shantal, Nichole and Chad; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Toler Baptist Church, Campus, WV, with Rev. Clarence Gibson and Rev. Valdis Bailey officiating. She will be laid to rest in Brown cemetery, Cyclone, WV. Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service on Monday, June 29, 2015 at the church. Arland D. Short, 61, of Lexington, NC, formerly of Matheny passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House, Lexington, NC. He was born on November 5, 1953 in Matheny, WV, a son of the late Aulbert Warren and Rosa Lee Brewer Short. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Mabel Cooley and Athalene Short; and a brother Earl Brewer. Survivors include two sisters Violet and Stanley Stone of Lexington and Mary Stewart of VA; a brother Ronald W. Short and fiance Lori of Winston Salem, NC; special friends Wanda Farley and Ruby Sizemore; nieces and nephews Kay and Tommy Vance, Kenneth and Cathy Short and Rev. Earl and Evelyn Brewer; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Earl Brewer and Pastor Johnny Toler officiating. He will be laid to rest in Short Breeding cemetery, Steeles, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the funeral home. Dennis Ray Parton, 65, of Man, WV passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 in Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. He was born on January 9, 1950 in Davin, WV, a son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Virgie Ogle Parton. On May 10, 2015 Dennis was reborn and baptized. Dennis was a proud United States Army Vietnam Veteran, having received five medals, a member of the VFW and attended the Claypool United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time at his hunting cabin, we will never forget the hunting trips with his family and special hunting friends at the camp, where he holds the record for Biggest Buck killed in the hollow. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Dennis Ray Parton, II; mother-in-law Ruth Rakes Gayheart and a brother Charles E. Parton. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years Lucy Lee Pauley Parton; a daughter Venus L. Parton; a grandson Tyler J. Parton; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. Memorial Service will be held at noon on Friday July 10, 2015 in the Claypool United Methodist Church. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until service time at the church.
