She was born on December 28, 1946 in Oceana, WV, a daughter of the late Dennie Wayne and Rosalene Mullins Brown, Jr. Sharon is a member of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, a 1965 graduate of Oceana High School and was produce manager at Goodson's Supermarket. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother Dennie Dewayne Brown. Survivors include a sister Sandra S. Brown of Oceana; a brother Jeffrey D. (Loretta) Brown of Athens; a sister-in-law Sandy Y. Brown of Kopperston; and a host of cousins, and family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, Kopperston, WV, with Rev. Raybon Cook and Rev. Ron Harvey officiating. On Friday morning, July 24, 2015, Landon Bruce Lusk, 78, of Oceana, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Heaven's choir is much sweeter today. He was born on January 30, 1937 in Cyclone, WV, a son of the late Onnie Pierce and Mary Ellen Bailey Lusk. Landon was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a member and ordained deacon of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church where he also served through the years as a trustee, Sunday School teacher, choir director and youth choir director. He loved singing in the choir and in recent years playing the bass guitar with pianist Virginia Toler. He also greatly enjoyed being in church Christmas plays. Landon worked as a mine foreman for Eastern Associated Coal Corp., working mostly at Kopperston No. 2 mine and retiring from the Harris mines in 1992 after 35 years of service. Supporting his sons in their growing years, he was a Little League coach and a former president of Oceana Little League for three years. He loved gardening and playing golf, and was a very talented handyman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Freelin Walker, mother-in-law, May Fern Cook Walker, and mother-in-law, Nannie Brown Walker; two brothers-in-law, Paris Brown and Richard Walker; and a sister-in-law, Edith Lusk. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Jean Walker Lusk, to whom he would have been married

Edward Keister Steele, 54, of Panther, WV, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 7, 1960 in Welch, WV, a son of the late Louie Herbert and Martha Elizabeth Cole Steele. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Roger Steele; a sister Judy Steele; and a sister-in-law Irene Steele. Thomas Otis Beaver, 68, of Clear Fork, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Scarbro, WV, a son of the late James and Elizabeth Aurednick Beaver. Thomas was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran of the 214th Artillery group and a Baileysville High School graduate. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his father-in-law Harrison Abbott, Sr. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years Sue Abbott Beaver; a daughter Angela Beaver (Stephanie Blankenship) of Clear Fork; a son Kevin (Rebecca) Beaver of Clear Fork; three grandchildren Dalton Pritt, Jacob Pritt and Gracie Beaver; mother-in-law Daisy Abbott of Lynco; two brothers Bob (Barbara) Aurednick of Clear Fork and Johnny Beaver of Sun Hill; a sister Susie (Bill) Roberts of Lynco; and a host of other loving family and friends. Darlene Velos Blankenship, 57, of Fairdale, WV, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on July 10, 1958 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Thomas James and Nancy Lee Havert Velos. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Clifford Lee Blankenship; a daughter Blaine Hope Blankenship; a sister Tammy Maynard and a nephew Chad Maynard. Survivors include a son Clifford Lee Blankenship, Jr. of Fairdale; two grandchildren Clifford Dylan Blankenship and Mersadies Danielle Blankenship of Oceana; a sister Trina Dawn Cline of Fairdale; a brother Louis James Velos of Matheny; her step-father Chuck Havert of Fairdale; and a host of other loving family and friends. Ras Laney "Bob" Trull, Jr., 87, of Matheny, WV, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on March 18, 1928 in Patrick Springs, VA, a son of the late Ras and Callie Mae Plaster Trull. Trull loved turkey hunting, playing golf with Keith Walker, Nascar, gardening, the outdoors and was a member of the UMWA and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine Trull Rudd; five brothers; and a sister. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, having earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years and sole caretaker for the last 11 years Genevieve Toler Trull; three daughters Kathy (Frank) Sicilia, Rhonda (Kenny) Cook and Lori (Michael) Goodwin; a step daughter Gennie Lynn England; a son Doug (Lisa) Trull; two step sons Charles Edward Fortner, Jr. and Murphy Dewayne Fortner; a sister-in-law Idell Trull; eight grandchildren Derek, Devan and Dustin Trull, Dylan McCarthy, Kayce Shea Cook, Lauren, Callie and Austin Goodwin; two step grandchildren Sheldon England and Jada Chandell England; and a host of other loving family and friends. He was born on July 13, 1930 in Verner, WV, a son of the late Auldie Fitzgerald and Angie Browning Lester. Buford was a member of the UMWA and a deacon for many years at the Greenbranch Freewill Baptist Church, Man, WV. She was born on September 21, 1929 in Simon, WV, a daughter of the late Bud Lee and Lakie Cline Belcher. She enjoyed attending the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church when able to do so.
