Luther Eugene Bowles, 85, of Lynco, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Riverside Nursing Home, Rich Creek, VA. He was born on September 1, 1929 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late Mack and Annie Bowles. Eugene Lived in Lillydale most of his life. He served in the United States Marine Corp. and retired from Island Creek Coal Company. Eugene loved to entertain us all with his boyhood adventures that always seemed larger than life. He would tell of times he played music for his mothers' church and each time he would try to quit playing he would hear "play one more", which would end up being three or four more. Later in life he enjoyed making "shoe horns" from broken golf clubs, so if you were a recipient of one of his creations remember Eugene with a smile each time you use it. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Pearl Compton Bowles; two sons Ricky and David; two brothers Ronald and Connie Bowles; and a grandson Benny Ray Bowles II, son of Benny and Lynn Bowles. Survivors include his six children Michael Bowles and his wife Jenny of Princeton, Kenny Bowles and his wife Delores of Princeton, Diana Bowles of Concord, NC, Benny R. Bowles and his wife Charlotte of Charlotte, NC, Kathy Brunty and her husband Fred of Matheny and Toney Bowles and his wife Angie of Albany, GA; sixteen grandchildren Lori Bowles Noland, Kristy High and husband Kevin, Amy Kendrick, Angela Gray and husband Coby, April Rickman and husband Cory, Mandy Fleenor and husband Chris, Chris Brunty, Leslie Whitney and husband Jared, Corey Bowles, Colin Bowles, Ashley Walters and husband Patrick, Melanie Williams, Jessie Williams, Kasey Trent, Tina Wright and husband Scott, Heather Brown and husband Jody; eighteen great grandchildren Alyssa Kendrick, Courtney Kendrick, Candice Kendrick, Anissa Vance, Mariah High, Chantel High, Brady Noland, Morgan Noland, Madison Noland, Alex McCauley, Matthew McCauley, Nathan Rickman, Grayson Rickman, Sophie Walters, Mandolin Fleenor, Stone Fleenor, Layla Whitney and Averial Bowles; a great great grandchild Lane Greer; and a host of other loving family and friends. Billy Ray Jessie, 71, of Ramey Addition, WV, left this earthly life to be with the Lord who he served all his life on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. He was born on June 19, 1944 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late Hamilton Garfield and Josephine Lester Jessie. Billy was a hard working coal miner before he retired where he made lifelong friends. After retiring he enjoyed spending time cheering on the grandkids at their games, sitting around talking with his buddy Roger, going to church with all his church family, checking in on his friends and family, and always doing whatever he could to make it easier for someone else. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Cretta Cline Jessie and a sister Sue Roberts. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years Candis Blondeen Cline Jessie; a son Dwayne Jessie of Stuart, VA; a step daughter Robin (Chris) Lester of Saulsville; five sisters Della Mae (Lawson) Ball, Gaynelle (Clifford) Hardin, Charlotte (Don) Levey, Connie Pappalardo and Teresa (Mike) Anderson; two brothers Robert (Faye) Jessie and Lonnie (Myrtle) Jessie; five grandchildren Sabrina Jessie, Billy Jessie, Levi Jessie, Hannah Lester and Clay Lester; and a host of other loving family and friends. Julice Perdieu, 32, of Ravencliff, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at his home. He was born on February 27, 1983 in Beckley, WV a son of Angie Perdieu Bailey and Terry James Brown. He is preceded in death by a brother Joshua Paul Brown; grandmothers Eddie "Etta" Perdieu and Lorraine Brown; and a uncle Jim R. Helen Virginia Chandler Bailey, 78, of Oceana, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at her home. She was born on August 8, 1937 in Madison, WV, a daughter of the late Orville and Erma Louise Miller Chandler. Goldie Marie Robinson Sellards, 92, of Matheny, WV, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Welch Community Hospital. She was born on February 2, 1923 in Martin, KY, a daughter of the late Arthur and Rebecca Sammons Robinson. Goldie was a nurse in her early years. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, canning and quilting. She loved flowers especially yellow roses and spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her ex husband Ben Sellards; a son Freddy Sellard; an infant son; two granddaughters Loretta Coleman and Angie Varney; two grandsons Chris and Benny Dunlap; four sisters Caddy, Effie, Helen and June; and a brother Willard. Delilah Anna Cook Cole, 52, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Jesse, WV passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. She was born on November 14, 1962 in Pineville, WV, a daughter of the late Amos Austin and Lilly Catherine White Cook. Delilah was a teacher's assistant at Metro School and a 1980 graduate of Oceana High School. She is preceded in death by her parents. McKinley "Mack" Taylor King, 71, of Iaeger, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on March 21, 1944 in Worth, WV, a son of the late George Washington and Martha Lillian Mounts King. Mack was a member of the Iaeger Lions Club, Two River Conservation and a member of Christ Cathedral. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Peggy Ann Delph King. Survivors include a son Michael Anthony King of Surfside Beach, SC; two grandchildren Ryan Conard King and Beca Liann King; a great grandchild Elijah Chase King; two brothers Russell (Sarah Frances) King of Iaeger and Jerry D (Betty) King of Laurel Branch; four sisters Judith (Boyd) Ellis of Greensboro, NC, Christine Kibby of VA, Darlene Payne of GA and Marilyn (Roger) Fain of Iaeger; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. He was born on July 3, 1952 in Welch, WV a son of the late Raymond Henry and Octavia Hanshaw Hatfield. Richard was a coal miner. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Onnie Hatfield. She was born on May 16, 1938 in Iaeger, WV, a daughter of the late Lewis James and Lilly Reed Powell. Marie was a member of the Bethany Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years James Wesley Shrader; a son Donald Shrader; two grandchildren; a great grandchild; two sisters Opal Collins and Agnes Blankenship; and two brothers Daniel Lee "DL" Powell and Herman Powell.
