Denvil Spears, 81, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV following a short illness. He was born on September 1, 1934 in McCombs, KY, a son of the late Proctor and Lois Burchett Spears. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kopperston, WV. He served four years in the United States Air Force and four years in the Reserve. He was a miner for 24 years, working at Pocahontas Coal in Lynco, WV. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Gregory Spears; a daughter Cora Spears Hall; in-laws McKinley and Myrtle Syck; and a son-in-law Roger Hall. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Evanelle Syck Spears; three daughters Mary Spears and companion Charles Gunnoe, Dana Spears and companion Regina Wilson, and Deanna Adkins and husband Kenny; a son Denvil Spears, Jr. and wife Bonnie; his beloved dog Jack; eight grandchildren Chris Dunn, Shelley Nance and husband David, Jason Adkins and wife Jesseca, Dennis Cook and wife Vickie, Amanda Hall, Bridget White, Heather White and Kayla White; eight great grandchildren Autumn, Skylar, Clayton, Kensley, Talon, Angel, Neva and Neveah; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Earl Brewer and Rev. Bill Goode officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will include the family of Denvil Spears. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Charles Lewis Cook, 77, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born on May 29, 1938 in Oceana, WV a son of the late Lloyd and Inez Lafferty Cook. Charles was a United States Army Veteran, A member of the UMWA and the American Legion Ball Club. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Jack Bailey. Survivors include a daughter Ladonna Argabright of Lynco; two sons George Matney and his wife Lynda "Pooh" of London, KY and Charlie Cook of Somerset, KY; a sister Jeanette Dillion of Oceana; two brothers Carlos Cook and wife Sharon of Kings Port, TN and Lloyd Cook, Jr. and wife Kay of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren Autumn Williams, Kelsy Matney, Kori Matney, Kolton Matney, Brayden Cook and Caleb Cook; two great grandchildren Garrett Williams and Madison Williams; a special nephew Clay Dillion of Oceana; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. Raybon Cook officiating. He will be laid to rest in Kopperston Community cemetery, Kopperston, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. Monnie Marie Spears, 88, of Matheny, WV, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Wyoming County Nursing and Rehab, New Richmond, WV. She was born on October 8, 1927 in Ellison, WV, a daughter of the late Trevor Osbey and Opal Farley Kinser. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Leo Spears; a sister Mildred Aldridge; and two brothers Earl Kinser and Curtis Brown. Survivors include three sons Eddie (Kathy) Spears, Stephen (Mary Jane) Spears and Brian Spears all of Matheny; five grandchildren Wesley Spears, Lisa Spears, Kayla Spears, Jessica Nutter and Sabrina Spears; five great grandchildren Christopher Nutter, Brandi Nutter, Adrian Spears, Destiny Spears and Brookelyn Spears; two brothers Larry Kinser of Emerald Island, NC and Clarence Burns of Myrtle Beach, SC; and a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Gladys Browning, 63, of Simon, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Raleigh Center, Daniels, WV. She was born on April 8, 1952 in Clear Fork, WV, a daughter of the late Thurman and Athalene Rumburg Browning. Gladys attended the Clear Fork Church of God Assembly. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her companion of over 50 years Charlee Gibson of Simon; five daughters Charlene Gibson of Oceana, Donna (David) McClanahan of Clear Fork, Julie (Raymond) Bailey, Rachael (Virgil) Paynter and Faith Nichole Gibson all of Cub Creek; a son Charlee Oscar Gibson of Oceana; two brothers Lucky Billy (Loula) Browning of Crouches Farm and Joe (Barbara) Dempsey of Sunhill; eleven grandchildren Tracy Adams, Michael McClanahan, Andrea McClanahan, Jessica Huff, Brittany McClanahan, Matthew Bailey, Cassondra Bailey, Hunter Paynter, Austin Gibson, Jacob Paynter and Levi Paynter; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Clear Fork Church of God Assembly, Clear Fork, WV, with Pastor Hannibal Blankenship, Jr. officiating. Diane Bailey Kershner, 54, of Beckley, WV, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at her home. She was born on July 18, 1961 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Doyle Lee and Phyllis Gay Sanders Johnson of Crany. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 20 years Sherrill Ralph Kershner; a brother Dana Sanders; a sister Brenda Johnson; and a brother William "Newt" McDonald. In addition to her parents she is survived by two daughters Kristi Shain (Kris) Rider of Beckley and Tammy (Steve) Sortino of Jacksonville, NC; three sons Joseph "Eddie" (Neil) Kershner of Jacksonville, NC, Timothy "Sam" Kerhsner of Stevenson and Alvin Hibbets of Bluewell; two sisters Tammy Gayle (John) Lozier of Bolt and Drema "Jo" (Roger) Gloyd of Southpoint, OH; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 29, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Rev. James Walker officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2015 until time of service at the funeral home. Larry Howard Cook, 65, of Fairdale, WV, reached out to Jesus and was taken to Heaven on Monday, October 26, 2015 at CAMC Memorial, Charleston, WV. He was born on September 21, 1950 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Cletus Fred and Sonia "Jackie" Wright Cook. Larry was a member of Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church, the UMWA Local 1504 and retired from Patriot's Harris Mine where they called him "Spook". He loved to grow sunflowers, hunt for sharks teeth at the beach and sit on his back porch watching the humming birds. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and church family. He was a proud father of his Air Force Veteran son and very involved with the church work. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Dana Keith Cook; and an infant brother. Survivors include his loving wife of 37 1/2 years Deborah Lynne Neal Cook; a daughter Amy (Joey) Miller of Naoma; a son Patrick (Tingle) Cook of Beaver Creek, OH; four grandchildren Addison Jill Miller, Isabella Lynne Miller, Wyatt Levi Cook and Silas Clay Cook; a sister Linda K. (Steve) Brown of Cyclone; a special cousin Greg "Buck" Wright of Cyclone; and a host of other loving family, church family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Breckenridge Missionary Baptist Church, Bolt, WV, with Pastor Dewey Lowe officiating. Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the church. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated following the services. Daniel Shawn Gullett, 43, of Ramey Addition went on to a better life on Friday October 30, 2015 in Boiling Spring Lakes, NC. He was born May 26, 1972, in Welch, WV, a son of Eva Belinda Bishop of Ramey Addition and Daniel Lee Gullett of Fayetteville. He was a 1990 graduate of Pineville High School and attended Marshall University. Preceding him in death were his grandparents Elmer Bishop and Buford and Stella Gullett and two close cousins Ozzie Cook and Mitch Cook. In addition to his parents survivors include his grandmother Maxine Bishop of Ramey Addition; sister Shannon (Cameron) Francisco of Wilmington, NC; niece Charlie Dougall of Wilmington, NC; step-mother Becky Gullett of Fayetteville; special uncles Howard Gullett of New York, Rick Gullett of Baileysville, and Gene and Rita Harvey of White Sulpher Springs; two aunts Nola Cook of TN and Maggie (Ray) Rasnake of Claypool Hill, VA; special friend Keith Sawyer of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at the Christian Fellowship Worship Center, Bear Hole Road, Pineville with Pastor Bill Goode and Pastor Diane Jackson officiating. Entombment will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday November 4, 2015 in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 9:00 on Tuesday at the church. Pallbearers will be Derrick Gullett, Todd Cook, Mingo Winters, Joey McLaughlin, Chris Ellis, Todd Bannister and Ernie Hall. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Ronald Jesse Lester, 54, of Mullensville, WV passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 9, 1961 in Hanover, WV a son of Hilda Hall Lester of Oceana and the late Jesse Montgomery Lester. He is preceded in death by his father. Survivors include three children Ronald Jesse (Mandie) Lester, Jr. of Mullensville, Stephanie Lester of Randleman, NC, and Stephen Lester of Randleman, NC; two step daughters Alishia Byrd and Carrie Byrd of Brenton; three sisters Lisa Lester Green of NC, Jessica Lester of Oceana and Wanda Morgan of Fanrock; a brother Alvin Lester of Ramseur, NC; three grandchildren Ehtan, Brooklyn and Tyler Lester; his ex-wife Brenda Byrd of Brenton; a special friend Tim Smith of Brenton; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated with no public services. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

Maggie Vicie Hendricks Lester Blankenship, 72, of Clear Fork, WV passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. She was born on August 16, 1943 in Brayhom, WV a daughter of the late Erby and Nellie Clay Hendricks, Sr. Maggie was a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband first husband Edward Huling "Ed" Lester; her second husband Roger Blankenship; a son Erby Lester; and two brothers Frank D. Hendricks and Estil Troy Hendricks. Survivors include a son Dale Lester of California, MD; seven grandchildren Edward Dale Lester, Autumn Taylor Lusk and Jerred, Kristopher Blake Lester, Kaitlyn Brooke Lester, Traevon Michael Miller, Joseph Reno Varela and Emma Jean Lester; a great grandchild Caden Lusk; a daughter-in-law Donna Lynn Valley Lester; two sisters Pauline Ball of IN and Debbie Cooper of Pt. Pleasant; three brothers Erby Hendricks, Jr. of Huntington, Paul Allen Hendricks of TN and Michael Hendricks of Irving, TX; and a host of other loving family and friends. Okey Lee Kenneda, 62, of Denton, NC, formerly of Lynco, WV passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, NC. He was born on February 26, 1953 in Welch, WV a son of the late Edgar and Dorothy Combs Kenneda. Okey was a member of the UMWA, worked at Steels Pinnacle Mine and of the Pentecostal Faith. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Freda Lusk, Virgie Morgan and Karen Kenneda; and a brother Earl Kenneda. Survivors include his wife of eight years Carla Mae Biasden Kenneda; two daughters Crystal (Douglas) Christian of Kopperston and Kathy (Virgil) Hatfield of Oceana; a step daughter Angela Marie Morgan of NC; two step sons Kenneth Ray Ellis of NC and James Glen Canteberry of SC; three sisters Patricia (Chuck) Williams of Lexington, NC, Virginia (Otis) Brooks of Simon and Kathy Steel of Denton, NC; two brothers Earvin (Faye) Kenna of Simon and Eddie Kenneda of Denton, NC; four grandchildren Courtney Kennda, Kelsey Christian, Matthew Hatfield and Isaiah Christian; a step grandson Jordan Horn; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Pastor Gary Toler officiating. Louise Imogene Blackburn Toler, 65, of Simon, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday November 6, 2015 at her home. She was born February 22, 1950 in Gilbert, WV a daughter of the late Perry and Virginia Marie Bledsoe Blackburn. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Also preceding her in death was a daughter Wendy Toler, a granddaughter Amy Lynn Toler, two brothers Larry "Pete" and James Blackburn, a sister Lettie "Faye" Bowen and her mother and father in law Hobert and Gladys Toler. Imogene attended the Lynco Pentecostal House of Prayer. Left to mourn her passing is her loving husband of 37 years Ernest "Moody" Ray Toler; three daughters Georgia (Anthony) Hatfield of Matheny, Linda (Timothy) Clay of Lynco and Cindy (Kenneth) Maynard of West Logan; four sons Charlie (Katelynn) Toler of TN, Daniel (Peggy) Morgan and Michael Morgan of Kopperston and Darrell "DR" (Sherry) Morgan of Cyclone; five granddaughters Cassie Toler (Daniel Garcia) of TN, Kayla Maynard (Tyler Mullins) of West Logan, Alexis and Peyton Morgan of Cyclone and Briana Hatfield of Matheny; four grandsons Avery (Jennifer) Toler of Matheny, Adam (Tiffany) Toler of Kopperston, Dalton Toler of TN and Anthony Hatfield of Matheny; a great granddaughter Emily "Brooke" Toler; six great grandsons Avery "Brock" Toler, Zachary Toler, Adam "AJ" Toler, Jr., Thomas Toler, Dylan Toler and Jaxon Garcia; a sister Una Stepp; six brothers Gary (Barbara), Darrell (Peggy), Marvin (Lucille), Junior, Johnny (Kimberly) and Edward Blackburn; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
