She was born on September 5, 1941 in Phelps, KY a daughter of the late Henry and Goldie Anise Coleman. Betty was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 16 years Richard Eugene Prater; four brothers Ermal, George, Eugene and Buck Bowling; and two sisters Magalene Bowling and Katheleen Ratliff. Survivors include a daughter Tabitha (Pete) Maynor of Oceana; two sons Tim (Karen) Rife of South Part, NC and Kevin (Joy) Rife of Sharon, SC; two sisters Mollie Lester of Phelps, KY and Beualah Wetizel of PA; a brother Kyris (Minnie) Bowling of KY; seven grandchildren Wesley Rife, Joshua Maynor, Matthew Maynor, Heather Maynor, Kayla Smith, Hali Rife and Nicholas Rife; four great grandchildren Jayden Christian, Noiah Christian, Aubree Elswick and Emma Maynor; a special niece Rose Ann Frances; and a host of other loving family and friends. Johnny Lee New, 25, of Gloucester, VA formerly of Brenton, WV passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at his home. He was born on June 9, 1990 in Welch, WV a son of Ina Jean New of Brenton and Garland Eugene Burchette of Princeton. Johnny was a 2009 graduate of Westside, worked as a pipeliner; former employee of Upper Laurel Ambulance Company, Virginia DOH and Randy's carpentry and landscaping and was a former member of the Brenton Volunteer Fire Department. Those preceding him in death are his grandparents Eugene New, Treely and Lucinda Burchette; second mother Ellen Dennis; and best friend Justin Wimmer . Survivors include his parents; a son Aiden Christopher New; a sister Pamela (Mike) Crowder; step sister Rebecca Johnson; brothers Roy (Christy) New and Tommy (Brandy) Burchette; grandmother Ina Geraldine New; special nieces Paisley New, Audrey New and Casey Crigger; an uncle Herbert New and companion Barbara; best friends Robby Dennis and Tyler Lester; and a host of other loving family and friends. She was born on July 3, 1942 in Crany, WV a daughter of the late Clarence and Doris Mae Kennedy Rose. Carol was a 1959 graduate of Oceana High School. She is preceded in death by her parents. She was born on January 30, 1935 in Glen Morrison, WV a daughter of the late Walter Lee and Vira Nettie Hubbard Day. Virginia was a member of the Oceana Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Ward Belcher; a son Michael Belcher; and a sister Dorothy Coleman. Mary Bernadine "Bunny" Harold, 89, of Brenton, WV passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at McDowell Nursing and Rehab, Gary, WV. She was born on October 26, 1926 in Bolair, WV a daughter of the late Maynard Lynch and Lena Baker Lynch Leggett. Mary was a member of the Brenton Baptist Church, a loving mother, grandmother and was the last surviving family member. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Darrell B. Harold; her father who raised her Rev. Wills B. Leggett; two sons Buel "Red" Harold and Dale Roger Harold. Survivors include a daughter Patricia "Patty" (Eddie) St. Clair of Turkey Creek; a son Paul B. Jimmie Ralph Harvey, 75, of Greenville, TN passed away on March 30, 2016 in Greenville, TN. He was born May 25, 1940 in Cyclone, WV a son of the late Rev. Kenna and Opal Leland Lusk Harvey. Jimmie was a retired truck driver for Wal-Mart and attended to Faithful View Church in Greenville, TN. He was a US Army Veteran. Dianna Darlene Morgan, 62, of Elgin, SC went home to be with the lord Saturday April 2, 2016 after a short illness. Born Aug. 16, 1953 at Grace Hospital in Welch WV. She was the daughter of Hilda Mae Davis Morgan and the late Herbert “Hoover” Morgan. She was a graduate of Oceana High School class of 1971. A director of the Peterson Presbyterian Day Care Center in Elgin four years and was an employee of Food Lion five years. She was preceded in death by her dad Herbert “Hoover” Morgan, a brother Barry K Morgan, a brother-in-law Dwight Trent a brother-in-law Satish “Sam” Salatri; a brother-in-law James “Pug” Eslwick; and a sister-in-law Pam Morgan. Survivors include daughter Nicole Nicandro (husband) Rodney a grandson Nathaniel “Nate” and a granddaughter Riley all of Columbia SC. Son Anthony “Tony” Foltz (wife) Sherry two grandson’s Anthony “TJ” and Dylan of Oceana. Her mother Hilda Morgan of Clear Fork, Five brothers, Marvin Morgan (wife) Jane of Leesburg Fl, Mike Morgan of Oceana, Justin Morgan (wife) Lisa of Ortonville MI, Jeffery Morgan of Clear Fork, Larry Morgan (wife) Carrie of Kopperston. Three sisters Vikki Sims (husband) Tab of Beckley, Judy Wicker (husband) Wess of Clear Fork and Arlene Trent of Catawba NC. Paula Mae "Polly" Powers, 54, of Davy, WV passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 of a brief illness at her home. She was born on December 29, 1961 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Roy and Phyllis Lafern Harvey Brooks. She was a construction worker, mostly on highway projects. She was born on December 5, 1968 in Beckley, WV a daughter of William Lee and Sharon Lynn Frazier Pennington of Sabine, WV. She was a 1986 graduate of Glen Rogers High School. She was a member of the Upper Laurel Fire Department and attended the Glen Fork Church of God. She is preceded in death by two brothers Danny and Edward Pennington; grandparents Hubert and Hydrith Frazier and Bill and Lissie Pennington.
