Billy Jack Stewart, 74, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 1, 2016. He was born on May 14, 1941 in Jesse, WV a son of the late Charles Gillis and Minnie Edna Walker Stewart. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Charles Stewart, Neely Stewart, Sebert Stewart, Johnny Stewart and Cecil Stewart; sisters Violet Shields, Hazel Cline and Patricia Prine. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years Patricia Diana Stewart; three daughters Denise Meadows of Matheny, Regina (Rev. Tim) Redden of Pineville and Rhonda (Chuck) Miller of Oceana; six granddaughters Tabitha Ford and fiance' Tomas Torgerson of Kristiansand, Norway, Amber (John) Marshall of Oceana, Sami "JoJo" Redden of Charleston, Heather (Ben) Morgan of Keyrock, Ginger (Chris) Walls of Oceana and Mady Redden of Pineville; three grandsons Steve Redden of Beckley, Timothy Meadows of Matheny and Joshua (Brittany) Miller of Oceana; fifteen great grandchildren; a sister Gladys Lusk of Beaver; and a host of other loving family and friends. Toni Lynn Sizemore Belcher, 48, of Saint Albans, WV passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016. She was born on August 19, 1967 in Man, WV a daughter of the late Virgil Elbe and Anna Ruth Sizemore. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband Nelson Eddie Belcher; a son Joshua Belcher; two sisters Diana Belcher of Oceana and Floetta Stoman; and a host of other loving family and friends. Orville William Godfrey, Jr., 54, of Columbus, OH passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016.He was born on December 26, 1961 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Orville William and Reatha Vivette Harvey Godfrey, Sr. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Larry Eugene Godfrey and Danny Ray Cline. Stephen Layne Vance, 56, of Oceana, WV passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. He was born on March 19, 1960 in Leatherwood, WV a son of the late Calvin Lonnie and Ardney Browning Vance. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Yvette Lester; and a brother-in-law Freddie Lester. John K. Hurley, 68, of Oceana, WV passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, VA. He was born on November 4, 1947 in Welch, WV a son of the late Oley Wallace and Vida Gaye Bailey Hurley. John was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Wyoming County Honor Guard. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 26 years Doris Jean Altizer Hurley. Survivors include two brothers Donald (Shelia) Hurley of Mt. Hope and Alexander Lee (Joan) Hurley of Springfield, OH; and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. Graveside services will be held at a later date and he will be laid to rest in Beaver cemetery. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. Rev. Larry Dean Preece, 64, of Lynco, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2016 after a sudden illness. He was born on September 22, 1951 in Logan, WV a son of the late Virgil Jasper and Marie Miles Preece. Larry was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center in Pineville and the UMWA Local 1713. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Jack Preece; and grandmother Blanchie Miles. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years Lawona S. Proffitt Preece; two sons Ricky Dean (Janice) Preece of Reidsville, NC and C. Joe (Kim) Preece of Pineville; three brothers Frank, Lowell and Kip Preece; six grandchildren Andrea, Nathan, Evan, Joseph, Kyle Preece and McKenzie Proffitt; a great grandchild Westin Hezakiah; and a host of other loving family and friends. Ruby L. Workman, 46, of Bim, formerly of Wayne County, WV passed away on May 12, 2016 at her home. She was born on August 16, 1969 the daughter of the late Charles Ray and Brenda L. Tomblin. Ruby was a loving mother and wife. Survivors include her husband of 27 years Randy L. Workman; a son Randy L. Christopher Wayne Addison, 37, of Verner, WV passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 in Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on July 8, 1979 in Man, WV a son of Rebecca Addison Bishop and the late Anderson Bishop. In addition to his mother he is survived by two sisters Santana (Jeremy) Bragg and Shiranda Bishop and fiance' Thomas Boe Morgan; two nephews Hayden Bragg and Isaiah Morgan; two nieces Addison Bragg and Gracie Morgan; a special uncle Mervin Morgan; and a host of cousins, family and friends. Phyllis Gay Sanders Johnson, 76, of Crany, WV went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 13, 2016. She was born on November 29, 1939 in Wayne County, WV a daughter of the late Levi and Verle McClellan Sanders. Phyllis was a member of the Crany Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two daughters Helen Diane Kershner and Brenda Lee Johnson; two sons William Elvis "Newt" McDonald and Dana Sanders; and three brothers Golden, Will and Jack Sanders. Jack Acord, 83, of Cyclone, WV passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home. He was born on February 25, 1933 in Bolt, WV a son of the late Lacy James and Flossie Acord. Jack was saved and baptized in April of 2013 and attended the Cyclone Missionary Baptist Church and worked for Robinson Phillips Coal Company for over 29 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, coon hunting, camping, and playing and listening to Bluegrass music. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years Lois Jean Brown Acord; a daughter Jill (Brian) Noe of Stollings; a son Greg Acord of the home; two grandchildren Ryan Noe and Laura (Cheyenne) Smith; a great grandchild born May 7, 2016 Penelope Smith; a brother Gail (B.B.) In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Wilma Jean Short Adams; step-father Edward Clayton Epperhart; two step sons Kenneth and Ernest Atwell; two brothers Johnny and William Epperhart; a sister Shirley Ann Epperhart; and a grandson Joey Rose. She was born July 30, 1951 in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Delbert and Alfie Greene Osborne. She was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Pauline Osborne and Darlene Bradley.
