This collection includes death records from several communities that are within the state of today's Hesse Germany between the years 1848 and 1990. When the information is available a record will include the deceased's given name, the date and place of birth, sex, and date and place of death. Information about the parents includes given name, surname and mother's maiden name.
Germany, Bremen Emigration Lists, 1920-1939
These lists generally provide information about a passenger that includes the given name and the surname, gender, age at departure, family status, place of residence, nationality, destination place, ship name with picture and vita, date of departure, occupation, and port of arrival. The port of Bremen, Germany, was a major point of embarkation for emigrations during the 19th and 20th centuries. This was true not only for German nationals, but also millions of inhabitants in Austria, Hungary, and other Central European nations seeking opportunities or refuge in the New World. Moreover, 7.5 million passengers departed from Bremen and more than 5 million from Hamburg, Germany's second busiest port for emigration.

This collection includes names of Jews in Germany who were victims of persecution during the Nazi era. When available a record will include first name, surname and maiden name, date of birth and birthplace, place of residence, dates and locations of prison terms, date of emigration stating country of destination, points of departure with departure date and destination, and date and place of death.
German Minority Census, 1939
This collection contains the names of all individuals listed in the 1939 census of Germany who lived in a household where at least one person in the household had a Jewish grandparent. Many of these people were killed in the Holocaust and this census is the last written trace of them. These approximately 410,000 individuals come from the supplement census cards that recorded each person's Jewish background. Information listed may include: name, maiden name, birth date, birthplace, residence, death date, death place, place of imprisonment, deportation or emigration, and whether they were a Holocaust victim. Some of this information comes from the original census cards, and some of this information was researched and annotated much later. This collection includes birth records from several communities that are within the state of today's Hesse Germany. When the information is available a record will include the child's given name, the date of a birth, and sex. Information about the mother includes given name, maiden name, last name, address and spouse. Information is also provided about the informant. An informant was often the father of the child or a midwife.

This collection includes marriage records from several communities that are within the state of today's Hesse Germany. Marriages were usually recorded where the bride lived. When the information is available a record will include the groom's given name and surname, age or birthdate, birthplace, residence, occupation, marriage date and information about the groom's parents. A record will also include the bride's given name and surname or maiden name, age or birthdate, birthplace, residence, occupation and information about the bride's parents.

This collection contains death records from civil registration offices (Standesämter) of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia between 1874 and 1938 for the districts of Arnsberg, Detmold, Münster and most of Düsseldorf and Köln. The remaining records from Düsseldorf and Köln will be published by March 2023. The records contain the following information: certificate number, date of registration which is different from the actual death date, name and occupation of the person reporting the death, given name and last name of the deceased and/or maiden name, gender, religion, date and place and time of death, age at death, date and place of birth, residence and often other important information such as spouse and parents.

Each of the passenger records may include name, age, town of last residence, destination, and codes for passenger's sex, occupation, literacy, country of origin, transit and/or travel compartment, the name of the ship, the port of departure, date of arrival and the port of arrival.
